You guys are living my dream life. You ride motorcycles all day and then find a place to set up shelter and make food, fire and enjoy mother nature. All while enjoying a few cocktails and each others company along the way. Safe to say I envy you.
Love the adventures 👍❤️ Cool to see you guys having a good time. I kinda live vicariously through videos like yours these days especially since my accident in June. Count the blessings 🙏what a great adventure you guys have. I never married and what a blessing you have one another. Hope 2022 is a better year for me personally... the world is getting nuts. Hopefully Jesus returns soon. Thinking.... Maybe you need to park the bikes for a couple weeks and head to a beach. Get meals all included and let someone else cook for a couple weeks. I once rented a house in Florida for a week it was pretty cool. There are rental homes right on the beach even with private pools (call ahead to have the pool heated though!). Thats what I would do if I had the means for Christmas. . I saw one commenter below say go to Mexico and beaches there. That sounds amazingly cool too but I dont know if its safe these days. Be careful if you go near the border or any area where "migrants" are crossing. God Bless
Love the videos, it makes me realise how really tiny the UK is, 860 miles from north tip to the south tip, and you are approx. never more than 60 miles from the sea. I just wish I could travel the distances that you can in your fantastic country and see the amazing sights that you have, (and chase some good weather!) Keep them coming.
Food funk???? I've never lived full time on the road, but appreciate how hard the life you lead REALLY is. Chris does a very good job of finding places of interest to see on a daily basis, and Richard does a very good job making sure the wheels can roll down the road. Perhaps you two need a vacation from your "vacation"? In a year or so I'll be retiring and plan modify my strategy from your life solely on two wheels. I bought a 16 ft cargo trailer that I'll pull with my truck. Kitchen and bathroom will go in front with a bed in back I can raise....put the bike in underneath and enjoy wandering without subjecting myself to the extremes of weather. Heat, A/C and a bed NOT on the ground are my only requirements. Explore an area for a couple weeks on bike, then move on down the road. I think you're getting "road weary" and just need to rediscover and rekindle the joy in the life you're leading. Maybe stop and take a spa day (I can picture Rich with a mud mask, cucumbers over his eyes and maybe even painted toenails)......just kidding about the toenails, but it doesn't always have to be serious travelling cuz it's also OK to be silly sometimes (like the ride down the slide). Slow down and enjoy life. Love your vids and trying help you out of your funk. You have all the time in the world. Enjoy it!
If you’re looking for Mark Twain, he isn’t home this week. I was playing cards and fishing with him last week. He crossed over to Illinois on Friday, wasn’t sure when he was coming back, but before Christmas. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
Man I don't know what I would do without your Blogs I look forward to Sunday so I can watch him Thank you for sharing by the way I started watching from the very beginning Be safe out there
Sounds like you guys will soon need to change the name to four wheel big life. I can imagine that life stile would wear you down after time. I am enjoying the river road run.
I live in central IL and have camped at Piere Marquette and ridden that stretch between Alton and Grafton, beautiful area. I can’t blame you for wanting a change though, setting up and packing up camp every day would get old I would think…
Love your adventures...my dads dad settled in Alton after coming over from Europe before heading to Chicago...do you like the tire monitor system you have ..reliable reading etc. and what Harley are you riding..I just got a 2013 Electra Glide....tire readings a pain...Enjoy ride safe
I love watching your videos...so many great rides I want to do. Im finding that I'm more obsessed with the dog in the road in the middle of nowhere than the rest of the video. Hope he's ok 😕

LOL, you can actually jump across the Colorado river at its head waters. They all start small and grown into very big rivers as they move south, this trip you gu7ys are on now is a really nice one, glad you filming it
keep the historic, 2 wheeled adventures coming... its amazing what y'all find out there and what this country has to offer...so "Rich" in history that you may have to cross it again... stay safe y'all
Hi guys, looks like you have a safety string attached to the GoPro on Chris’s handlebars , good idea! .., I need to implement that technique.. great video!!
So cool guys ! You guys are awesome and I love to follow you around. I bought a pop up camper early in the year and I am having a blast motocamping in Western Canada 🇨🇦! Keep on rocking
Love this video. I just got home from riding the KLR 650 with a friend and WE were actually riding along the Illinois River here in Southern Oregon 😆. I laughed when you said you were crossing the Illinois River. I feel a RV is in the future. I know y’all follow KYD like we do and we just spent 6 years as full time RVers. It is an awesome life. Life is Good, God is awesome
Sat down with this episode to wrap presents and while I thought I was opening a package of leggings which had come in the mail for my daughter, discovered that my "It's Your Ride" hoodie has arrived! It'll serve me well on my own adventures. Thanks for a quality souvenir! Another fun episode, too!
I've watched quite a few of your videos and I have said for some time now that you would be much happier in a camper van that you didn't have to set up and take down every day. You also wouldn't have to wear the heavy, hot bike gear.
Keep watching we get a camper and some Gigantic ADV bikes. That was too much. then back to just Motorcycle and tent. Found that to easier. We don't plan ahead. Cheers!! Thanks for watching.
Been to Chester IL. Lots of character statues. Not much in the way of restaurants. Did it back in 2018. Get out of IL as soon as possible. We live here and if I can ever talk hubby into it we will be gone. South we would go.
Now I’m sitting on the edge of my chair. I soo love watching you guys videos. Learning from the both of you. Seeing some mistakes and knowing what I would have done different in a few instances. Your present life is my retirement dream. Free to travel and roam the United States. Originally I wanted a TimeOut trailer. But changed my mind to. leisure lite. I’m hoping you guys continue to make videos still in your motorcycle and not in a RV. Just my 2 cents. ❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely gorgeous view ...thanks for making this video, . I waiting to get my truck loaded , so while i wait , im watching the video, felt like i went along with you guys ....safe riding , god bless ..
Video quality was amazing on this video. Looked like a fun run. I know you guys said you were in a rut, I wish I had a even a week of a rut like that haha. About to upgrade to my first road glide and I can't wait to take some trips like this. Keep on trucking guys.
I watch a lot of RUclips motorcycle videos and I have to say yours is by far the most interesting and enjoyable. You guys are genuine; please don’t change. When are your going to show you traveling in your new travel trailer and truck?
Well I'm all caught up. I thank you again for the ride along, the sites, the history and the education 👏. The pain medication is working so it's time to go back to bed.
Another great video, there are several motorcycle travel channels I follow but yours is without a question a favorite of mine. Y'all are living my dream, be safe and keep these great videos coming.
Hey Chris, how often do you use those hyw pegs? Are they worth it? I’m with you on avoiding big cities, I just don’t like the locals knowing where to drive and having zero concerns for visitors.
Was expecting a reference to historic Alton. IN 1838, an abolitionist printer, Elijah Lovejoy was run out of St. Louis for publishing anti-slavery articles. He moved to nearby Alton and started printing again. Some Missouri "ruffians" came across the river at night, broke into his print shop and started to bust it up. Lovejoy was shot and killed, and his printing presses ended up in the river. In not-too-far away northern Illinois, a 29-year-old young man gave a speech about the horrible event to a "Lyceum". (An informal debating society of sorts). It was the first speech he ever gave that was recorded for posterity. His name was Abraham Lincoln. Some historians consider the event the first shot fired in the Civil War, 23 years before Fort Sumter.
It will never be the same if you go from bikes to RV I hope no matter what you keep the bikes and travel but in the end you have to do what's best for you
Sweetgum balls are natures Legos, they HURT when you step on them bare foot. Looks like Y'all are having a great trip. I just figured out you are from Texas which makes us neighbors. LOL
I'm really enjoying watching your latest videos. Born and raised in Illinois and have seen alot of the little towns you are traveling through!! Good times. Travel safe!!!
Back in 1994 a bunch of us rode our Harleys out Rt. 36 from Columbus, OH., to Greeley, CO. That “Pony Express” Highway was the best. We had a major detour as that was the year of the Mississippi River flood. They closed 36. We saw silos where all you could see is the top 10 feet. There were 300 some caskets disinterred from their graves. There were some caskets found in trees when the river subsided. It was so laid back, and everyone waves at you from the other direction. Small town friendly people, you know the “fly over folk” that is the backbone of the greatest country on earth. Ride safe, stay warm.
It's been a blast joining you on your adventures Rich and Chris. I stumbled across your channel just about 2 weeks ago and have fully caught up 🏍😀 I am viewing from South Africa and enjoy your exploring after setting up your base camp. Travelling is a personal favorite and on 2 wheels it's just so much better. My family is quite young so we still treck around on all fours, lol. However, i look forward daily to commuting to work on my 2 wheels and very often look for excuses to just RIDE. I'm in love with your story guys, including the effort that Rich has done to ensure that you have electricity, your water conservativeness and making it work even though there are challenges. After all, what quality of life would we have if there weren't any? Looking forward to your next installment. Keep smiling, stay positive and enjoy the journey 🏍🤩
Another terrific video. I so look forward to your weekly installments, and I consider it an honor to help support your adventure in a small way! Ride safely!

Hi, I just found your channel. I'm trying to decide what road trip to take with my Wife this year. We travel on a Goldwing and pull a trailer. I just heard about the great river road trip. Thanks for the videos.
I wouldn’t have expected to see a Pere Marquette (Father Marquette, a missionary who traveled much in Michigan) park on the Mississippi River. He got around! Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
I detour 100 miles to stay out of St. Louis. Very dangerous and nerve wracking place. Horrible or no road signage and holes big enough to bury a dog. Thanks for the ride!
Looking back is fun. Kind of prophetic about something changing, food and cooking changes, but foretelling the change to a Triumph 900 Tiger!? You Gus are good people. Thanks for the videos.
Chris, I hope your not bad mouthing the corn fields! After all, theirs things to observe like yield, associated seeds, herbicides, and FERTILIZERS. Soil moisture content, drainage, not to mention the equipment and buildings associated with the process. To bad you avoid big cities or you could visit the Chicago Board of Trade and find out what "Corn" and "Soybeans is really doing! Now, don't you want to turn those bikes around and revisit those fields. Just saying! Always a pleasure watching your channel. Thanks for Sharing! p.s. Watch out for those ticks jumping off the trees and down your collar!
I really enjoyed watching you guys on your travels through America which is something I would love to do on my motorbike but, given my age and financial status as a UK pensioner is not something I can realistically hope to do. So,Chris and Richard, I am currently re-watching your videos ( seeing things that I missed first time around). At least I can follow your travels and see the sights through your amazing camera work. Thank you and I hope its not too long before you can continue your journey. Best wishes to you both.
Somehow, I stumbled across your channel and now can't seem to cut it loose. As I am too a touring rider (BMW K1600), your content to me has been quite amazing and eye opening. The way you two speak into the camera makes me feel (and I'm sure others) like I'm right there with you. Kudos! Keep that great content coming and thank you!
I noticed your highway pegs on your GSA. What brand are those? I'm both a Ultra Limited, and a GSA owner. I'm also 6'3". In dire need of some comfortable/functional highway pegs. Thanks!
Too bad your video is delayed. We could give you suggestions. I understand the issues of being on the road. The birthplace of Mark Twain is in the Mark Twain State Park Near Mark Twain Lake not Hannibal. It is a beautiful area. In Alton, you missed Fast Eddies Bon Aire. It has one of the best burgers at a very low price. Safe riding!
Seeing the sites, the small towns, people working, freedom to travel, this land is worth fighting for! Just sayin'....
Amen to that
I just retired, sold everything Got a new BMW with camper and sidecar. Me and my German Shepherd, Halo are hitting the road in a few weeks.
Nice keep us up on your travels.
I look forward to every Sunday evening email. Great video nicely done. Can't wait to see your new RV. lol

Pere Marquette park then just pass that was Grafton and then down to Alton.
Awesome! I see you didn't take 61. You two chose a great route headed toward Atlas, then South! Enjoy that ride!!!
Oh, Alton Ill... That is where Eric the RVer is. Lol. I don't think he's there now.... somewhere south, AFAIK.
then u have mexico Missouri and california Missouri ,nevada,Oregon.
I detour 100 miles to stay out of St. Louis. Very dangerous and nerve wracking place. Horrible or no road signage and holes big enough to bury a dog. Thanks for the ride!
I think ur gonna be back in something besides a tent what I don't know that but u can say u did it best luck to u two
Just a better base camp
This video is Too "Chopped_UP". It's hard to follow your storyline. Who edited this? Was you smoking Grass?
Your place to eat Buffalo Fish was not the greatest place to eat. 😵💫 Beasleys is one you would have enjoyed.
Thanks!
Is the “Great River Road” US35? A friend of mine used to say, “When in doubt, make a right.”
Just think 50 years ago you would have had to write down your trip and sent in to Life Magazine or a paper. Fun times for all. Safe travels .🎅🏼🏍🇺🇸
A black pump is a diesel pump where I come from! Not uncommon for rescue services (AAA) to deal with mis-fuelling incidents. Beautiful sun set.
