  • This film has been prepared by ICRISAT and its partners. The cast is played by comedians from the popular Nyogolon theater company, and aims to raise awareness about the dangers of aflatoxin ingestion. The narrative has been designed to enable smallholder farmers reduce aflatoxin exposure through adoption and use of good agronomic and post-harvest management. The original Bamanankan (Bambara) version reaches out to a seminal audience of 25 million speakers of manding languages in Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea, Mali, Senegal and Sierra Leone. Its realization was made possible by the Canadian International Development Agency through the Canada-CGIAR Linkage Fund. Recording in English, French, Fulfulde, Hausa, Moore and Wolof was funded by the CGIAR Research Program on Dryland Systems and the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Improved Nutrition and Health, to cover all major West African peanut production basins, home to a population of over 150 million peanut producers and consumers.
