Anyone else have anything they use that people may not think of right away to help them with their leather craft? Be sure to check the description of this video for links to those gloves I use!

Another tip for you, remember the needle goes into the leather. Not your hand!!

Those rubberized work gloves are a godsend! I tried all sorts of things including rubber thimbles on my fingers to ease the pain in my fingers pulling stitches through. Then, I tried some cheap nitrile coated gloves out and my hands stopped suffering so much almost instantly. It even made my stitching go faster because I didn't need so many breaks. Great tip!

Seconded for cheap disposable gloves. Get a box, and don't worry about using them up. A lot of the boxes come with a hundred gloves, and sometimes I only need one, so it will last a long time.

I swear I was just thinking about a new way to stitch, and you came on talking about new stitches, looking forward to trying them.

I always “lock” my needle even w waxed threads or “sinew”.
Breathable mechanics gloves eh? Maybe I can retire my trusted two pliers of 20+ years, I’ve attached wrist tethers to my pliers in case of dropping and so I don’t have to reach & put em down somewhere. I’ll give the gloves a shot. May not relieve sore fingers from pushing through tighter holes in thicker leathers, I’m game to try it so they’re on the shopping list for next visit to the orange Box and we’ll see.
For stitch-shaping leather, I use a “soft” white mallet (mine is a Tekton brand)..it has the “soft” white and a black harder side. You can also get it as both sides white. For real stubborn hammer bits, I use an orange/black metal handled machinist hammer, also Tekton. As the hammer itself is a bit small, the metal handle adds a nice bit of heft.
As always YMMV. Just sharing, nothing more, nothing less.
Not associated with any brands/mfgs mentioned other than as a paying customer.
    Have a good’un!

I've been using plyers - mostly when sewing waxed materials! I will try using my work gloves!
