The best way to do it would be to add the MIDI interface to it and then use a DAW to control thr rhythm track while recording the baseline and then mix all this down to a backing track. Of course it gets you away from using the beat buddy interactively- but you would have a much more fuller and more realistic sounding performance.

    I think you're missing a vital step...
When using Logic to create my drums and bass parts... I bluetooth midi to the Beatbuddy from my Mac as an external instrument and I get to hear it exactly as it will be once I drop the midi regions into the BB Manager. Simple. (you're right that Logic has a different template layout of the drums and such but this is negated when using the BB as the instrument playback)
This might make things a little easier...

      I'll look into that. Thanks.

Hi Terry, I got set up with the Yamaha Bluetooth thing as you suggested (that thing isn't cheap!) and I can see the time saving factor it will bring about, so just wanted to thank you for the suggestion. Cheers!

I have a problem with rock with bass. When I pause a song you can hear the last note of the bass playing until it fades out. I want it to stop entirely with the beat togerther. I cannot find any solution anywere. Do you have any ideas? Thanks!

I never got far enough into adding bass to encounter that problem, but thinking about it, the midi note contains the information as to how long the note will sound, so if you are using whole notes and you stop it in a whole note, it will play the whole note, so if you want it to stop on an 1/8 or a 1/16, you would have to use a 1/8 or 1/16 midi note at that point. I'm not sure if this will work the way you want it to, but that's where I would start. Drums sounds are by their nature short, it tends not to be an issue to stop the song with drum beats.

@Manos, chiming in a very late reply: I'm speaking in theory ('cuz I never actually tested it), but I believe you can create a "mute" note (something with a 1 velocity), then apply it to a "Choke Group." Then, you could add any/all bass notes to the same choke group. This would effectively cut any playing note within the choke group. Does that make sense? It is the same principle as playing a hi-hat open, then within any given measure while the open is sustaining, if you play a hi-hat closed, it would "choke" or stop the first sound. Also in theory is adding all notes that are on a string into the same choke group since e.g. playing an E2 on the E string would sustain only until you play another note on the same string, e.g. a G2. Again, this is all in theory, so try it out and let me know if it works. Cheers!

That's just too much work/time for a simple guitarist who just wants to create a backing track quickly.🥺🎸
