Hello, it could be so generous of you to put the rest of the piece, that is to say: Allemande Courant Sarabande Menuet I Menuet II and Gigue Please, it would be marvelous because your tutorials ar soo great. Thank you, I'm learning a lot (in five stars level would be fine) :)
It has taken me 2 months, but I can confidently say I can play this well from memory now. My girlfriend gave me applause from across the house when she heard the final chord the other day. I am making good use of of my time during CV-19. I can't thank you enough for making this instruction available. I am working on Moon River now and I am loving my guitar again. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I don't know why but this comment has stuck in my head throughout learning this peice and really pulled me through when progress felt slow. Its been two months for me also and as of today I've finaly got it down. Thank you
@@richnorris1975 I have played it a thousand times since my comment and I am still finding refinements to this piece. I can now play it through, literally, with my eyes closed and what’s strange is that I seem to play it better with my eyes closed, or maybe I just hear it more acutely. I’m honored you found inspiration from my comment. Play well brother...
Hi Michael, Roughly 15 minutes on an average. I went through multiple stages: from just memorizing the finger movement, to relating it to the tone. Plus the entire piece is quite long. So that part that you’ve already picked up continuously gets longer and you end up spending more time on the guitar. Once i memorized it, now i am enjoying the familiarity and trying to feel it. Honestly, this is the first long classical piece that I have picked up on my guitar. I’m targeting Chopin’ Nocturne now (Tuto by the same channel)
Stop timing your practice. Just play everyday. Stop when you're finished, you're creating a sheepy robot scheduling your music and you will play rushed and worried about how much time you have.
@@crazymike1706You need to stop worrying about time and enjoy yourself instead. Music isnt your dr appointment or kids play date that needs to be scheduled or structured in such a way.
@@NubsWithGuns for some i think its nice to record how much practice you've put in so you know your total practice hours which can be fun to keep track of like for hitting big milestones like 1000 hours etc
This piece can be played in a few different positions on the fret board, and Sky Guitar offers a very nice way to play this piece, too. I'm on my 2nd week of learning this and I''m currently on measure 21. Half way there. It's not INCREDIBLY challenging, but it does take a good amount of practice to play it all from memory, including building muscle memory. Can't wait to complete it. Love this channel!!
Haven't started yet, but it already makes me so happy to see this upload, well played and thanks again, this will be the 4th piece I will learn through your crystal clear method.
@@SkyGuitar I've been trying to learn a full song, but I just never can. You're Chopin Nocturne, I learned almost half of it, but I dread to learn more, even though it's so high quality. Is it a problem with motivation?

How goes your progress on the classical music? I considered myself somewhat of a master before taking this up, and a year in and I'm just now learning 4 star songs. Just curious at how it's going for someone else.

Absolute best tutorial format. Thank you so much. A 'simple' as this prelude is, almost a tender ritornella, with all sorts of detours and broken lines, I'm a strong believer that such genius' works are not 'understood' and fully appreciated for centuries. Our world still has not 'digested' Johan Sebastian Bach's oeuvre as vast as its own universe. And the 'resolution' in the end of the piece is all the more lovely, because we return to our begining. The pace is also amazing, so clearly demonstrated in the tuto. The piece has a way to evoke an Indian raga too and I bet that version already exists. Somehow, Bach's 'message' is really, don't stay on the same note. Explore all, see the scale, hear the scale. (Tough to imagine a person who only sounds one note. God forbid.) The tuto dares you to guess which note comes after when you try to sing it and one gets one's feet in the way. Even though we've known this piece forever, it's the first time I follow its sinuous though 'harmonious' paths and vaguely perceive how composition works.
I think I may have said this before but the view of both your hands is what I wish every lesson video was like. Really makes a difference with me to see someone play as well as hear a piece. I still haven't tried to learn it but someday.
just found this amazing channel. couldn't believe how come got to know it so late. hv been self-taught playing acoustic guitar during rounds of lockdown which literally saved my life and now finally moving forward to fingerstyle yah! as a big fan of bach and solo cello suite, this piece will be my goal in the following months. see if i could master this by the time when the pandemic becomes under control
A lovely piece to hear and even nicer to play. It has a strong melody. I loved it! Good work guys! I Appreciate it very much. I am unconditionally one of your #1 fans :)
What a wonderful piece of music to work out on the guitar. I can see that I am going to have to buy a high capacity internet subscription to learn it. Thank you for creating the video and posting it.
Thanks for your awesome lessons and your being ❤ I can proudly say that i can play measure 1-10 now after 2 days of practice from memory and i keep going every day with more measures until i reach the end of this beautiful piece. For now its hard to keep the tempo of the song since i only played pop songs on guitar but its just a matter of time, will and practice until i reach this too. 🥰
Measure 11 is always such a trade off… the A in the bass (as it is in your version) is so musically unsatisfying, yet fluid and playable… the F# (ie. As Feeley has it) is the more musically appropriate choice but so brutal to prepare and execute. There are so many of these tree-offs when arranging Bach for guitar it’s maddening. I think I own 6 or 7 scores of this suite alone, and yet I still ended up creating my own arrangement for it. Bach always ends up a journey haha.
