Good important topic but why does he talk so strange
As a healthcare worker for over 22 years, and science fiction writer, once asked a Doctor friend of mine what he thought about the possability of parasitic infections contributing to personality disorders. And he was very excited to engage in that conversation, as he had been studying that subject for many years. Hailing from a country with a less developed healthcare system, he had expirienced many phsychological disorders in poor people with severe parasitic infections. Without getting into to much detail, he assured my inquiry to be very true, as well as my fear of parasites. I think doctors should correctly diagnose mental illness, but also look into the cause. As killing a parasite may be quicker than a lifetime of disabeling medications, and institutionalization. And wouldnt that also be much cheaper to treat?
I agree. Recently diagnosed with a glioma. Was wondering how that even happened. I just read a few days ago, that Toxoplasma, can cause brain cancer, especially gliomas. I grew up with lots of cats and two dogs. I'm guessing I could have had a parasitic infection that didn't show any symptoms, until the tumour itself started to make its presence felt. There could be something here. It could explain why some cancers go away with anti parasitic meds.

For profit feral cat advocates are against this information. They also try to downplay these findings.
Also, toxocara canis roundworms from dogs, which they crap out all over our neighborhoods, do the same thing. They get into our brains and can cause all sorts of problems, like schizophrenia, epiilepsy, and many others.

Prevention, don't let feral cats take over your area. This parasite can only replicate in cats stomachs. This parasite is one of many reasons why people are against feral cat release practices.

The most common way to get infected with this virus is by eating not fully cooked meat. Bear that in mind. If your cat is infected, you can have a vet treat it with the right antibiotics... Only about 30% of pets are infected. One way to keep your cat from being infected is to fully cook the meat it eats, and to keep it from hunting outdoors. Also, keep it indoors. Curious why this was not mentioned.

@@livthedream91 generally serological testing is done to check for immunoglobulin G. CSF can be tested as well.
S O N J A
Thanks😱. Is everybody gonna go ask their doctor for this test now? Lol. I know I am😂😂😂.
@@livthedream91 good question 🤣🤣🤣. It's usually asymptomatic, but given the info in this video it seems like the symptoms are just not what's generally looked for 🤷
Your doc refers you to a psychiatrist for your symptoms. Your psychiatrist doesn’t check for hidden infections or address your diet and lifestyle. Your psychiatrist prescribes you a drug to cover up your symptoms. This drug causes your more symptoms requiring another drug to over up the new symptoms. You are promised that you just need to find the right cocktail of drugs to put you back in balance. So you keep trying different drug combinations but never find wellness and your mental symptoms get worse. You are told that your condition is progressing yet it’s the toxic prescription drugs that are damaging your brain. All of this goes on and the root cause of your illness was never addressed. And so the story goes. 🐈
Very true. Happened to me, got drugged up for years. Never got tested for parasites even though I started coughing up worms in the mental ward and was denied proper medical care and they wouldn't give me a dewormer or test for parasites. I've not taken any psychiatric drugs in years, I just take veterinary dewormer/anti-parasitic in a dosage for humans every few months when my feet start going numb or when I wake up "drunk or high" and I'm better within a few days
@@wolfie1719 You have to take dewormer every few months?? Are you a racoon living on garbage?
@@Kj16V its as easy as drinking bad tap water and you'll be infected with toxoplasmosis for life
@@wolfie1719 did that make the schizophrenia go away? Please answer back with what you take?😪
@kari777l Yes, it did go away completely. 3 years no antipsychotics. I used mebendazol dewormer and doryx antibiotics to treat t.gondii infection. I take high potency vitamin B complex, zinc, selenium, and eat a lot of meat for iron to maintain proper brain function. I hope this helps you
This is significantly disturbing after watching and relying on your efforts to encourage and reinforce healthy eating habits. The 1 in 4 chance of already being "brain inhabited" by schizophrenic inducing parasites is terrifying! This isn't your normal preventative, "how to avoid message" so please inform us of tests to detect or how to not get "inhabited" in the first place. Once these brain dopamine doping , suicide inducing parasites have "signed a lease" I'd like to know the eviction process.
Why has nobody mentioned trainspotting?

A lot of cat comments, I really hope most are jokes. Just need to clarify, one, a cat doesn't necessarily have toxoplasmosis. Especially if they're indoor only. Two, even if your cat does have toxoplasmosis, you won't necessarily get infected unless you don't clean after handling the litter. Three, even if you have toxoplasmosis, these symptoms are tendencies and averages. They are correlations and not direct consequences of infection. There are many, many more factors in the conditions mentioned here (a lot of which are much more significant factors. Example with schizophrenia genetic predisposition is a vastly more important factor). There is a vast misunderstanding of this video in the comments below.
ok Dr Greger, I had toxoplasmosis, is there a way out of this? please let it be plants or I'm screwed

@@Elven.
hm, dopamine transmitters should not be damaged badly from toxoplasmas dopamine,
you need A LOT of dopamine to overstimulate/damage them.

Dude!!! 💓
Toxoprumpla?
So what's the cure? Why don't they use Serotonin drugs on Schizophrenics more often instead of anti-psychotics?

These studies bring a whole new light onto the expression 'crazy cat person' with all the science backing this weird reaction from this infection 😲
I'm not sure if all cats carry this infection to the same degree , but I've personally noticed that in some cases I get a crazy allergic reaction to the scent of someone's place just because they have a cat , to the point that I get a life threatening fit of asthma if I stay at their place.
It also explains why some people consider getting a pet the perfect remedy to depression 😅
Howwwwww do we safely kill and clear it????

@@bookmouse770, yes I just can not help myself round those felines, 52 now and earliest memories of trying to feed local cats my sugary confectionery, needless to say I got scratched but also beguiled by those snakes with fur.
At one time, i rescued a stray cat who was born to a momma cat who ran away from a crazy cat lady with 50 stray cats she had lured home, so risk of toxoplasmosis high (the hunting, the feces laying about, the wide territory the cats came from increases the risk). My cat was indoor /outdoor, a hunter, i scooped the litter, i had never heard of toxoplasmosis. Also, as a child, i played with farm cats on my grandparent's farm. Also hunters, which increases the risk of tozoplasmosis.
When i got pregnant, they told me about the risk to the fetus of toxoplasmosis infection, but only the initial infection is a risk. Then your body makes antibodies, and keeps the virus under control. So we tested to see if i had toxoplasmosis antibodies in my blood. I did not. So i had never been infected. So i carried on taking care of my cat, being more careful to be sanitary, though i had always been sanitary, except when i wss a young child on the farm. My first cat was wild and bit me many times, but i loved that wild cat. Also i've had many scratches that bled. Also, i'm a nail biter. And i sleep with my cat(s). My cats are usually spoiled and walk on the kitchen table and counters, though i tell them to get down. I'm not a clean freak by any means. Still, not infected. (Am kind of schizo, though. Must be something else).
Over the years, I've had many indoor/outdoor cats, I love cats, although i now just have 1. But, just because you have a cat doesn't mean you have toxoplasmosis. And just because you love cats doesn't mean you have it.

Very healthy, active people crippled by GMO food got better when they changed what they ate. Same with many people affect by WiFi, cell phones, "smart" meters, led/fluorescent bulbs. Mine is improving with proper sleep, intermittent fasting and removing toxic products as much as possible. Moving to the other side of house from meter is next.
