appreciate it! I always try to not use music in the sections when Im opening up the outboard, unless the audio is nothing but wind distortion. Im working on testing different mics to get even better engine audio now too.
@@darinsassen617 appreciate the response! I’ve heard good things about the spitfire and I wanna give it a shot but don’t want to lose too much on the top end
Great video and great performance, considering it’s not the CT model. I honestly don’t think Mercury expected the CT to perform as well as they do. Sounds like you already know, but the huge advantage of the CT over the normal gearbox, is being able to run the more specialised high performance props, usually seen on the larger HP engines. I have a 19ft cuddy cabin boat with the non pro xs 115 CT. I run a choice of 3 props on her. The laser 2 19”, tempest plus 19” and sometimes the enertia 20”. She will see 43 mph gps with the laser 2 and tempest, both on the limiter at about 6150 rpm. And on a good day, about 45 mph gps with the enertia just near the limiter. I’d imagine that the pro xs ct on a performance boat like yours with an enertia of a few inches more pitch would be seriously quick !
Yep, when purchasing this engine my dealer swayed me to go with the standard gearcase over the CT saying it would be better for my application and now I sorta wish I just went with my gut and got the CT. Im still very happy with it, but Im a tinkerer and I wish there were more prop options for top speed with the standard lower
Prior to the 115, I saw you had a 90 E-Tec, I have a 1986 Rinker v153 with a 75 E-Tec. I'm just playing around with propellers. What propeller/speed did you have with the 90hp?
I can't remember what pitch it was, but towards the end I had bought a stainless viper prop for it to replace the stock aluminum. I didn't use a GPS to measure speeds but according to the dash speedo I was getting about 35 with the aluminum and 40mph with the viper
@@AD-jd8is as I state in the video you're commenting on, Im running a 19 pitch prop on this mercury ( ruclips.net/video/e3h14ZNb7UM/видео.htmlsi=dD5dC49w58F9oD-i&t=231 ). as I state in my above comment I dont remember the pitch on the prop I was running on a different outboard not featured in the video lmao
Hopefully other tubers will take notice of your great video. No annoying stupid music just the sounds of a cool outboard. Thanks for the good video.

I used the Spitfire 4 blade w/115 Pro XS for 7 yrs. Great performer. (no command thrust)

Mercurys Trophy plus prop might be a good option 😊
