Clean the points on the truck it's that simple any car or truck that has points that has been sitting needs it's points cleaned before your going to get spark it's the automatic thing to do on a conventional ignition system now if it's HEI then it won't have points
Yeah chevys are different than Ford or Chrysler but they should not be that hard there should be a bolt on the front of the block all you do is take that short bolt out and take one of the fuel pump bolts and screw it in there that will hold the rod then remove the fuel pump put the new pump on get the one bolt hand tight then take the other bolt out holding the rod put that into the pump then put the short bolt back in the front of the block it's that easy if the pump is out already I have used a strong magnet to hold the rod up but it should not be too hard

If the engine is turned such that the fuel pump is "pressed" the spring in the pump must be compressed to go in. Try rotating the engine, which will move the fuel pump lobe. The fuel pump push rod should easily move up toward the cam with a little pressure from a screwdriver creating a gap. Once you get that gap, the pump will probably slide into place.
I could move the rod up but the space for the pump was so small, when I installed the pump, I had no space for the screwdriver or my finger... so the rod would fall back down, every time. It would have been easy if the van was turned over!

Chevys are easy. Swap motors & brackets usually interchange, transmission for sure. Fords? Brackets changed mid year. C6 transmission maybe fit a 302 only or FE only . Vans any make are harder to work on.

Guess what, that alarm is loud in headphones, goodness 🤣
It was loud in real life too... no competition for my hognose pliers.
@@RevStoration 🤣🤣

- nick
I thought the same thing when I saw it out there.
The panel truck is amazing.. just a shell, but it is there.
@@RevStoration go after please it worth build a hotrod out of it or selling to somebody there hard to come by trust i know.thanks

Rev are you going to be removed from your church for working on a Chevy lol . That being said I'm a Chevy guy( I know you will pray for me ) but I love all old cars and old trucks I've been trying to get my uncles old 77 f100 . One of my uncles had it new then when he passed it was left to another uncle now he is ill and I am trying to make a deal to keep it in the family. It needs work as its sat for 15 years now. Nice video rev and you can always shower the Chevy dirt off keep having fun
I actually made a joke from the Pulpit last Sunday about a chevy... probably a special called deacons meeting planned soon.
Awwww, come on guys.. you know once you go Chevy you never go back! 😉
Not me... especially after this fuel pump.
I know you can get it just don't give up.
I will... eventually... just gave up for a day.
What a chevy
That what people who can't afford a Ford buy!
@@bmacd2112 Chevy is the best. But I wasn't doing this for you to reply on . I was trying to pick on the pastor rev
@@jesserobinette2459 - I got that but it was was low hanging fruit. I've had a lot of Ford, Chevy & Dodge trucks over the years. I've had good and bad in every brand. So I have no brand loyalty.
@@bmacd2112 cool
Yep, Im surprised too.
Brakes are for people that aren't in a hurry to get somewhere.
Yep... You would be in a hurry rather fast coming down that driveway... fun times and fast.
Hey there buddy I see you came around to saving good old Chevys now😊 but just like me you love all classics!!😎👍 love the vids you keep Doing god bless🙏
Thanks Justin... We will have more on this Chevy...
I liked Sir
Thanks for liking
Great video as always .
Thanks for watching...
Chevys are easy. Swap motors & brackets usually interchange, transmission for sure. Fords? Brackets changed mid year. C6 transmission maybe fit a 302 only or FE only .
Vans any make are harder to work on.
It was just about be as easy to swap the engine than install that stinking fuel pump... tricky rascal.
Good to see you and the Old Man back at it Rev! So I’m curious, was your dad able to talk them out of that oddball chipper? It would definitely be something neat to tinker with! That alarm....I was NOT expecting it, my son was asleep and I’m not sure who it scared more....me or him!!! Keep up the great work, can’t wait for the next installment!!
Not yet.. but we are going to help them clean up some of there items.. the a. larm scared me too.
Chrysler got that same cam rod that won't stay up when you trying to put a fuel pump in to
Frustrating at it finest.
You're right about the key. My 70 GMC just has one key for everything. Makes me wonder why our 75 G20 had two, and then the 96 Suburban is back to one(cost cutting?)
Saving money and saving pocket space.
Oval or bow tie, I like oval! Good one.
Me too... Thanks for watching Richard!
Oh and save that 40’s Ford panel outback.
Sweet panel too... nothing left inside.
I love Chevrolet
Thank you for watching.
I've always heard variety is the spice of life being it Ford or being it Chevy
This Chevy was spicy for sure..
Speak to them dry bones! God bless
The old van is running now and thankful to get improving myself.
I miss my G20 so bad it was a 95 straight line conversion everyone made fun of me until they rode in it and then anytime people would ask when I was picking them up for me to drive it
This one I have seen since I was born.
Love your channel. Have really enjoyed the revivals. Just curious do you sell any of the vehicles y’all revive
We will eventually... the plan is to get them road worth and then pass them along. We are waiting on my dad shop to get finished and then we will start working on the moving and stopping.
@@RevStoration oh ok. Would love to get one of the trucks. I’m looking for something I can work on with my son to get it ready for him to drive when he gets old enough
Why did the man fall into the well? He couldn't see that well 😂😂😂
Ive been saying My Lord alot recently...wonder why ! haha
I can think of worse things to say... Thanks for watching.
That boat looked a little like the SS minnow on Gilligan's island but as I got to looking at it..IT looks like the SS Guppy!
Guppy for sure.
