near perfect naked bobber style bike . amusing to me is you guys talked a lot about HD adding the passenger seat and pegs , but that's one of the first things i'd take off if i bought one :) different strokes and all .
I have one and both those factory seats suck. After 20 minutes riding i can't feel anything below my waist. I put a lepara on mine and what a difference. All of harleys accessory seats suck. They change the look of the bike and are uncomfortable. Harley should talk to lepara or saddlemen on how to make a comfortable seat. You need a seat with back support. Because that motor has so much torque. It literally will push you off that factory seat.
@@LA-ff6zk ergonomics are different for everyone. I rode the slim from LA to Utah and found the seat to be much more comfortable than the lepera I had on my dads fxr. I also much preferred the stock seat on my 18 low rider to any of the saddle men or step up seats from other brands. There are stock seats I love and stock seats I hate but it’s certainly not just that they universally suck
Last new bike purchase was a 94 Dyna Lowrider. Still have it. Over 100K miles. Been all over the East coast and southern states with it. No windshield just saddlebags. My new Street Bob is a good replacement so far.
I do appreciate your information and I think you did a great job with the overview of the bike however putting a 114 in a bike with a 3.5 gallon tank was ridiculous by Harley. This is not your fault but overall I do feel the slim is the better barber with classic look and should have a 114 in it and I soon will. You are 100% correct that a bike with that type of power should have dual disc brakes it should actually be standard on the Slim by now
Just test one of these at a Harley demo truck event. What a great bike, light , very nimble, and felt very snappy it felt faster and more responsive than the low rider s. Also as stated in the video the brakes are more than capable of stopping this bike. Felt good to ride a stripped down bike without all the clutter.
I have an 18 streetbob and I hesitated buying because I knew this model would eventually come out with the 114. Oh well I still love my bike and I'm 6'2 and I love the mids. Great video as always
@BZ I think it is. Now I will say I'm not a real long-distance rider out there crushing miles, I'm more of a few hours of spirited riding type, so after 500 miles, it may be very uncomfortable I can't speak on that.
@@jonchrzanowski725 I was thinking of shorter rides only. Thank you!! Very insightful 👍👍 I was thinking this, fat Bob, and fat boy, but this is the cheapest of them (and possibly best looking!)
Traded in my 2019 Roadster for the 114 FXBBS. ....after being able to ride 4 bikes, 2017 Yamaha R6 2019 BMW S1000RR 2019 Roadster 1200 ...this is the bike for me. It has plenty of low end torque @3000 RPM it’s got the comfortability for a long ride IF you get a 2 up seat 😂😂🤣 (wished the tank was at least 4.5 gallons but oh well carry a gas can w/you) 😂 And that M8 motor is just smoooth! Can be dipped into corners real well, brakes well. As usual, rear brake is pretty..ass. LOL Overall, it fits me and my riding style. I can cruise with it, I can haul ass, and you can pimp it out and make your own. Love it.

Wanted a Harley since I was 6. I'm finally 8 days away from getting my first one. We've narrowed down the options in their inventory to 3 bikes in my price range. 2020 low rider s, 2022 street bob, and 2022 sport glide. I want small bags and a road warrior fairing on whichever bike I go with, but it was really hard for me to make a decision. Your videos are a HUGE help. Thanks
PERFECT IN-DEPTH REVIEW!!!!! I just purchased the 2022 STREET BOB yesterday after noon here in Colorado Springs!! The only difference from the 2021 would be the Mag Wheels which I think look insane!!!
This was the video I watched right before I bought my 2022 Street Bob 114 at my local HD dealership. Thanks and keep up the great content guys!! Best reviews by far.
The tank graphics are absolutely perfect! Great job Harley! My favorite Harley logo is the #1. I love the iconic black and orange. Adding the 114 was a stroke of genius. This will probably be one of their biggest sellers this year? I’m also a huge fan of mids. Heck, I guess I should probably trade in my sporty for this bike.
Hey guys nice review. As an owner of a 19’ Streetbob I have to say ur underselling this bikes long range capability. With the steep price changes for the Heritage or even worse street glide price... this bobber can have quick detach saddle bags plus windscreen n two up comfy hammock seat for about $1500 Now that will destroy the bobber look but it gets ya from Detroit to Sturgis without issue. All of it can be changed out in 5 minutes. These are the most versatile bikes Harley makes and I’ve yet to see a salesman who knew it. Just sayin. I did the iron butt last year and only got sore for my shoulder having no cruise. But that’s been fixed for $12 now too lol
I really like the changes to the Street Bob, even though I liked the Dyna Street Bob with the larger tank and traditional gauge on the console of tank. But is great paint schemes this year on them.
Hi Matt absolutely love your channel, own a 114 streetbob from Maidstone Harley Davidson in Kent and have toured Devon and Cornwall in England about 900 miles each time no fairing just strap my things to the sissy bar. Been riding Harleys for 44 years and the 114 streetbob is the best Harley I've ever had the p.easure to ride.
I think HD did a great job on the new Street Bob. You get a lot of bike for the money. Always informative. Matt and Nick, great job on going through the bike and what a rider should know when thinking of buying one.
Really great review guys, thank you. I took a test ride on the Street Bob yesterday at my local dealership and straight after bought the white bike that they had just unloaded from the truck! I pick it up on Friday - can't wait! All the best from Wales - or as we say "hwyl fawr!"
Glad to see Harley make this bike what it should have been. Love the colors too. Would be hard to choose between the Deadwood Green and the White. Spoiled by cruise control though so I would have to add that.
Just snagged me a 2022 Street Bob! I got the red one. This is my first Harley ever and I’m so stoked! I watched a ton of your videos and it helped me tremendously in making a decision!
3:20… regarding 2up-capability the Sport Glide is the first one, not the Heritage ! Generally I love your reviews! You’re doing an awesome job! Greetings from Bavaria.
I got to ride a Street Bob when it was in the Dyna family. It was AWESOME! I would imagine that being a Softail with the 114 it is even better now. But my heart belongs to the Fatboy.
Hoped to see Matt on the bike.. I'm 6'6" and a similar build than Matt and I'm dying to see how I would look on it (without scheduling a test ride just yet). Cheers from Prague, Czech republic 🔥
Amazing and honest reviews, particularly coming from a dealer. Really appreciate these and I'm debating going from a Triumph Street Triple R to a Street Bob. I know, big difference. Thanks again!
Great Video ……. You guys nailed it on the different characteristics of the Street Bob vs the Lowrider S. There’s definitely some confusion out there as to what Dual Disc front brakes actually do, and you did a great job at breaking it down . I went with the Street Bob…. Harley killed it with that bike man. I can’t get over how good this bike looks right out of the box- THEN they threw the 114 M-8 in the Street Bob. I HAD to buy this bike…. I always really liked the look of Bobbers but I was doing a-lot of Track stuff so that’s pretty much where my focus was . I’ve been riding mostly Italian bikes for 25+ yrs. ( with a few Triumphs thrown in for variety 🤔 ) , but that 114 motor in the Softail frame made me jump. That bike has GOT to be a Torque F**kin Animal 👿 Bought it in the winter 🥶 ❄️ . Didn’t Test Ride it - Didn’t Need To. I knew what it looked like before I went in , sat on it, decided it was more comfortable than anything I’ve ever owned, and bought it 🤷🏻♂️. I checked out the Low Rider S for a minute also….. For me it came down to looks ( and this Bike is F**kin Beautiful ), and what I wanted it for … I bought a Harley Street Bob to Cruise - I’ll keep the Ducati for the track / canyon carving. I don’t know though - once I start riding the Harley I’m not gonna want to go back to riding in a full-tuck position …. That S**t’s starting to hurt me man ❗️ Later Boy’s Great🤘 Video 🤘❕❕❕❕❕
Sweet bikes. Dyna style with Milwaukee 8 fun, what's not to like. Personally I'd ditch the gaiters, but that's nit picking. You guys will shift loads of them, I'm sure!
I am one of the guys who would prefer the more subtle fuel tank with the black color and maybe just the Harley name on it. My hope is it will be an option for the 2022. If not ill still pick one up and just redo the tank on my own. Great review guys.
Hello,🇨🇦 from London Ontario Canada, when I was riding through the Rockie mountains,on my 1994 sportster,it was great, that was in 1998, and it was terrific, I rode home from Vancouver to London Ontario, the Evo 883 is the best motor of the motor company,
So was waiting for this review. I watched every video i could find but i knew this was going to be the one that covered the bob the way it would need to be done to really get a feel for the bike short of getting to put hands on. 🤠
Love these reviews! Matt, you and your crew are doing a great job. I have a 2019 HD Roadster and leaning towards trading it in for this bike. I'm in San Diego but willing to take a drive up there. Respect Laidlaw HD!!!
I think a lot depends on the area of the country you are riding in. Back east in Florida the road is long and straight and the longer rake is probably preferable, especially on the 'B' roads where the best riding really is. Contrary to popular belief there are hills in Florida up towards the center of the state. Just not so many Twisties. Also, for additional lighting the LED turn signal inserts are inexpensive and throw some extra light. Love your in depth reviews. 2020 107 is more than enough for me. The new motor really rocks.
"who is the best rider, buyer for the new street Bob" ME! I had the 2019 street Bob in red and loved it but sold it because I wanted 2 up and a bit more power. 2021 bike read my mind! And the paint and graphics are awesome! I prefered the 2019 street Bob to my 2017 low rider S, so to me the new bike must blow my LRS out of the water.
ya, they definitely should have come out with one in all black for sure, thats the only thing holding me back although that deadwood green is pretty sweet
I love the new frame and the engine. But I had the dyna street bob and the styling on that bike was so much better. I feel like they turned it into a softail version of an 883 low. The knocked it out of the park on fxlrs, flsb, fxfbs although the fxlrs def should have had cruise and a 117 but still a great bike.
I'm hoping to buy my first Harley within the next year. I've always liked the Street Bob since I first saw it in the Dyna era. It's always been my favorite bike. The only thing that takes my interest away now is the fact that they went with a smaller tank. Why is that?
Matt and I both got new cameras late last year, but this is the first video that was mostly shot with my 50mm f1.2 so this probably has more bokeh than most of the previous videos. I’m a bokeh addict. The only other difference is that all the 120fps slow mo B Roll in this video is in 4K instead of 1080p, since the Canon r5 allows for that
@@TH3G0ODGUY bokeh... well I just learned a new word lol but seriously, I’m big fan of the channel and this video stands out. The video definitely feels immersive. Thanks for the great content!
2018 Lowrider owner. My three favorite Softails are gone. Lowrider, Breakout and Deluxe. Still confused about this. The Breakout sort of replaced the Wide Glide and now there is nothing even close.
Awesome info all around. Lil' feedback: when discussing certain specific parts of the bike that is right behind you, would be even cooler if we'd get to see those bits while you are talking about them.
The only reasonable benefit for dual disc brakes on the road is coming down out of the mountains like into Nevada from California where heat dissipation would clearly make a difference in brake fade. Tank volume makes a noticeably more frequent difference. The beef I have with Harley Davidson is offering a 107 at all. Money grab in the hopes that folks will divey up for a larger displacement kit and installation costs. To say otherwise is a lie to yourself, others or both. Go into your purchase eyes wide open and don't buy the sales pitch from anyone. Get what you want knowing what you are purchasing and enjoy.
I'm really considering getting it for my first bike. I did sit on it I'm 6'4 at thr pegs are very uncomfortable so forward begs are a requirement at my height. It's between this or the new indian for me. If I go with a cruiser for the first bike .
Awesome video! I have an Iron 883 but am wanting to move up to the Street Bob. Is that too big of a jump? Also I totally agree with the blacked out tank graphic. If they had that, I probably already have it sitting in my garage 😂. I’m hoping for a black denim version
Hey guys quick question. Softail street bob or 103ci dyna ? And why ? Prices are so close and I’m having a hard time deciding which to pick for my first Harley since both are around same price. My one gripe w the fxbb is that 3.5g tank.. is it as crappy as everyone says it is and is it better getting the 4.5-5gal tank w the dyna? Or is the fxbb just a better buy and the tank is good enough for what is is?
I say softail streetbob no question. It’s a far superior bike. More power. Better suspension. Tighter chassis. The extra gallon of gas doesn’t make up for all the other deficiencies
I just checked around for these. There are no 2021 Street Bob 114's for sale in my state, nor in Georgia, even at the largest Harley dealer in Atlanta. Nearest one I could find was in Michigan. Looked again and there was one at a dealer in Ashville, NC. These bikes are super rare at dealers. Probably all you can do right now is order one ... forget about a test ride.

different strokes and all .
It’s a nice value add even if it sits in the garage until you need it, and it’s easy to remove!
Check out the new SDC seat from saddleman. Gets rave reviews.
This guy is a good salesman. I’d buy a Harley from this guy. He turns the features into benefits with great examples.
Last new bike purchase was a 94 Dyna Lowrider. Still have it. Over 100K miles. Been all over the East coast and southern states with it. No windshield just saddlebags.
My new Street Bob is a good replacement so far.
Thank you Matt Laidlaw, I bought my '20 fxbb barracuda silver denim after watching your videos. Cheers from Istanbul.
Best looking Street Bob ever
I have an 18 streetbob and I hesitated buying because I knew this model would eventually come out with the 114. Oh well I still love my bike and I'm 6'2 and I love the mids. Great video as always
just do a stage 2 itll be more powerful than a stock 114
@@el-hp1lj I have a 2020 Standard with a stage 2 torque cam, Vance and Hines short shots, and the HD extreme flow air intake.
Is it really that comfortable at 6'2? I'm an inch shorter and thought my legs woild be cramped and knees hurting
Traded in my 2019 Roadster for the 114 FXBBS.
....after being able to ride 4 bikes,
2017 Yamaha R6
2019 BMW S1000RR
2019 Roadster 1200
...this is the bike for me.
It has plenty of low end torque @3000 RPM
it’s got the comfortability for a long ride IF you get a 2 up seat 😂😂🤣 (wished the tank was at least 4.5 gallons but oh well carry a gas can w/you) 😂
And that M8 motor is just smoooth!
Can be dipped into corners real well, brakes well. As usual, rear brake is pretty..ass. LOL
Overall, it fits me and my riding style.
I can cruise with it, I can haul ass, and you can pimp it out and make your own.
Love it.
I've sold many of these already and I'm really considering getting one myself.
These videos that your putting out help tremendously everyone interested in learning more about the Harley line-up. I certainly hope you are around for a long time and continue to help the industry. Harley corporate should take note and compensate your efforts!
A 131 kit on this would be the way to go
i was just about to comment that, cant wait to see when someone actually does this
The tank graphics are absolutely perfect!
With the steep price changes for the Heritage or even worse street glide price... this bobber can have quick detach saddle bags plus windscreen n two up comfy hammock seat for about $1500
Now that will destroy the bobber look but it gets ya from Detroit to Sturgis without issue.
If I didn't buy my new Honda 1100 DCT, this was going to be my next choice. It's a nice bike for sure.
I was surprised when I sat on it how small and lightweight it was felt very balanced too
3:20… regarding 2up-capability the Sport Glide is the first one, not the Heritage !
Generally I love your reviews! You’re doing an awesome job! Greetings from Bavaria.
Perfect happy hour local bar bike!
Loving the looks of that bike. Considering adding a second bike and after seeing this it is a serious contender. Great job fellas
I got to ride a Street Bob when it was in the Dyna family. It was AWESOME! I would imagine that being a Softail with the 114 it is even better now. But my heart belongs to the Fatboy.
Should have covered removing the passenger seat and showing what is left over when you do.
The answer is!!! look at last year's... hope that helped 😁
Always look forwards to your videos when a new model drops, if I were on the west coast I'd definitely buy one of your bikes.
-Learned much in this presentation. Thanks for all that peripheral information about the whys of manufacture's choices re: performance & looks.
Lucky for me I got to test ride a 2020 model last summer still can’t get out of my mind.
Originally from the SGV now out in STV in Arizona, lookin at this for 1st Harley purchase.
This video is the most informative I've seen by far.
I can’t get over how good this bike looks right out of the box-
THEN they threw the 114 M-8 in the Street Bob.
That bike has GOT to be a Torque F**kin Animal 👿
Bought it in the winter 🥶 ❄️ . Didn’t Test Ride it - Didn’t Need To.
I knew what it looked like before I went in , sat on it, decided it was more comfortable than anything I’ve ever owned, and bought it 🤷🏻♂️.
I checked out the Low Rider S for a minute also…..
For me it came down to looks ( and this Bike is F**kin Beautiful ), and what I wanted it for …
I bought a Harley Street Bob to Cruise - I’ll keep the Ducati for the track / canyon carving.
I don’t know though - once I start riding the Harley I’m not gonna want to go back to
riding in a full-tuck position …. That S**t’s starting to hurt me man ❗️
Later Boy’s Great🤘 Video 🤘❕❕❕❕❕
Thank you for watching and thank you for the comment! 👍🏼
Great bike. Gotta say for the price and engine it’s a good option. Me personally I’d go for the Fat Bob or Low Rider S but this is just as good
Sweet bikes. Dyna style with Milwaukee 8 fun, what's not to like. Personally I'd ditch the gaiters, but that's nit picking. You guys will shift loads of them, I'm sure!
Me: Hey, Harley, I'll take a new chromed out cruiser with a 5 gal tank and mid controls.
Harley: umm....uh...uh.......ummmm...
In red brilliant candy colored?!hell yeah!
What’s wrong with the Fat Boy then
@@glratcli Not mid controls! And butt ugly to boot.
Me too, except forward controls; sounds like a Low Rider; I'm amazed it was cancelled.
Sounds like you're talking bout my bike. 2019 fxlr and I love it. Of course it would be cool to have a 114.
I am one of the guys who would prefer the more subtle fuel tank with the black color and maybe just the Harley name on it. My hope is it will be an option for the 2022. If not ill still pick one up and just redo the tank on my own. Great review guys.
Hello,🇨🇦 from London Ontario Canada, when I was riding through the Rockie mountains,on my 1994 sportster,it was great, that was in 1998, and it was terrific, I rode home from Vancouver to London Ontario, the Evo 883 is the best motor of the motor company,
I'm glad I got a 107 version. The displacement increase would have increased my insurance insanely.
So was waiting for this review. I watched every video i could find but i knew this was going to be the one that covered the bob the way it would need to be done to really get a feel for the bike short of getting to put hands on. 🤠
The 114 and the orange graphics make this a no brainer, however I am not ready to trade the Fat Bob just yet.
I just purchased one from Oakland HD, its been in the service department or a week awaiting parts. I can’t wait 2 ride this bike along the coast
I had a 16 with the 103 and was a fun bike.. now with the 114 that bike would be a blast.. good move on HD part..
I wanted a ‘21 but could not gel with the color options. I bought a ‘20 and love it, it’s like a blank slate.
Congrats. Enjoy.
If i didnt get a killer deal on my Fat bob I probably would have got the street bob especially seeing it now has the 114
Truly a great video. Lots of great information instead of just vlogging on the bike. Thank you.
Love these reviews! Matt, you and your crew are doing a great job. I have a 2019 HD Roadster and leaning towards trading it in for this bike. I'm in San Diego but willing to take a drive up there. Respect Laidlaw HD!!!
You guys do a nice job highlighting the pros and cons.
The deadwood green is dope.
Also, for additional lighting the LED turn signal inserts are inexpensive and throw some extra
light.
Matt what happen to the podcact? You guys were doing great... bring it back please sir
Like the vintage look to black and Orange looks great thanks for the video take care
That's a spectacular B-roll, excellent camera work
Thanks!
ya, they definitely should have come out with one in all black for sure, thats the only thing holding me back although that deadwood green is pretty sweet
I want that #1 Hoodie
New camera? Sick production value. Love the video
@@rickbradshaw2148 thanks for watching!
2018 Lowrider owner. My three favorite Softails are gone. Lowrider, Breakout and Deluxe. Still confused about this. The Breakout sort of replaced the Wide Glide and now there is nothing even close.
They don't sell well so, why produce them?
If you were coming in cold to HD, this is the bike to get right now!
I'm really considering getting it for my first bike. I did sit on it I'm 6'4 at thr pegs are very uncomfortable so forward begs are a requirement at my height. It's between this or the new indian for me. If I go with a cruiser for the first bike .
I got my 2020 and I love it
Awesome video!
@@MattLaidlaw thanks for your honest opinion man appreciate it 🤙🏼
Could you do a review of the new Sport Glide? Planning to trade my sportster
in for a new Softail and I am on the fence with that bike.
Definitely like these new bikes but my slim is staying
Great video again! You guys make an Awesome team on Harley Reviews:)
