It’s clear it wasn’t easy for you to do but I think it was really strong of you to recognize that you weren’t doing well in that environment and made the hard decision to leave your job. It’s not easy being vulnerable like this but just wanted to tell you that it really helps others out a lot. Thanks for sharing Cora ❤️

I'm sorry you had such a miserable time, and I hope you begin feeling better! I am happy you spoke out about it though becasue I feel like a majority of RUclipsrs who have never had to work a "9-5" before I feel can be a bit out of touch with the reality of working in corporate/industry/trade work. It is hard, and it is demanding, and I could resonate so much with what you said! I am not trying to say social media/RUclips doesn't come with challenges of its own, but this video really made you so relatable and real. Again, I hope you begin to feel better! Proud of you for putting yourself first, not a failure!

genuinely the transition from college to a 9-5 is one of the hardest moments I think for a lot of people. it is tough physically and mentally! i have SO much respect for people who have been doing this for years and having this experience taught me SO much! i think having a corporate or regular job is draininggg and people who have never had one and may not every have one do not understand this huge struggle

Cora!!! Thank you so much for sharing this.. You have no idea how much this actually helped me. I quit my job too for the same same same reasons as you. It wasnt making me happy, i was stressed allll the time, i wouldn't even sleep properly, i was unhappy all the time. It was too toxic, i fell sick all the time. Finally i decided to quit. Nothing is worth it if it doesnt make us happy. Its just not worth it. I have felt a guilt if i did the right thing. But after you posting this video. You literally have no idea, how at peace i was. Like someone else in this world was also going through the same as what i was going through. So gurl you have nothing to be embarrassed about. You keep going. Do what makes you happy. Even if you make the least amount of money. That should make you happy. Thanks gurl. Love from India.

Vocal-fry: annoying and very cringe. Crying on video, publicly, (but looks like fake crying) because you can't handle real life: cringe.
Paying for an over-priced Starbucks latte to show you're privileged: definitely cringe.
Why did RUclips recommend this video??
Me, commenting on something that really doesn't matter or affect me: MAJOR cringe!
I must not have a life: HUGE cringe!

I graduated with my masters in May 2022. Started my first job in July lasted until April next year (6 months). I quit that job without even a backup plan because I couldn’t handle being micromanaged and the lack of respect. My current job, I was basically told what I wanted hear. Been at my current position for almost 8 months and I’m not happy. Started feeling down and dreading work, crying almost everyday, lacking empathy and motivation for the last 3 months. But even before then I’ve started noticing the job I thought I would like, ended up not being that like 4 months after starting. My breaking point hit just recently so I’ve prepared a resignation letter just waiting for a new opportunity to be locked. My point is, it’s going to take a while to find what is for us. I think what’s great with our generation is not putting up with being unhappy, the lack of respect and so forth in jobs. We always know there is something out there and we are worth something and deserve respect. ❤

I'm quite a bit older than you, it's not as big as it feels right now and everything is gonna be ok. I know people who are on the rich list & could cash out, but still like to find ways to work daily because they need to have routine. I have other friends who earn peanuts and do what they love for a cause, some who have taken time out, others who just picked something and stuck with it until it started paying off. My other half quit a high paying office job to start his own business and do a physically exhausting job because otherwise he gets depressed. I work alone, as I play much better alone than with others. You'll find it, and as much as you might be worried right now, 23 is soo young, you could pick anything and have an abundance of time to find what that is and master it.

I think it's amazing that you stuck it through that long. When I was 16 I got my first job. It sadly lasted three days before I quit. I was so overwhelmed at the time. I had an eating disorder, my cat wasn't doing well, and my grandpa had just died. Later on I was doing a bit better and I had prayed to God that I'd get a job. And I eventually got a job that brought me joy and made me feel fulfilled for that time. I pray that God helps you through this.❤

I just want to say that if this job was making you unhappy than it was totally the right call to quit. You make the decisions for your life and no one else does so no one should be judging you for quitting. There are so many opportunities out there and you will find something that is perfect for you. I had 2 different jobs both were horrible and caused me so much grief and after that I had a time of unemployment which was honestly good for me to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. It's OKAY not to know what you want to do. Now I have an amazing job and I love it so much. You will find what works for you when the times is right. Don't stress about it because you've GOT THIS! Respecting yourself and moving on from things that just don’t contribute to your happiness is so so so so mature and amazing, I hope you realize that with time. In your past videos I kind of felt you a little bit off (I’ve been watching your videos since 2020 :)) and I am just excited to see this new chapter of your life and see your happiness and joy coming back because that is what you give to us every video, making our days better ❤️ Hope you feel better soon angel, lots of love from Brazil

Congrats on quitting! I’m sure it feels SOOO good now. My husband went through something similar and he didn’t want to quit so ended up sticking it out for a few years. But the anxiety and his mental health were so bad I kept telling him to quit and I was really glad when he finally did. If he would’ve quit right when things weren’t going well it would’ve saved him so much stress and he could’ve moved onto find something else that made him happy and if not that well at least didn’t make him anxious. Don’t be embarrassed at all! You do what’s best for you and don’t worry about what it looks like to other people. People will always have an opinion

This is such a normal experience and sentiment! I'm 3 yrs post grad and I would say half my friend switched jobs within the first 1
yr. It's scary and feels so uncertain, but this is our time to figure out what we like, where we want to end up, etc. Happy for you for making this decision! Off to the next chapter

I definitely felt the same way you did, you described it so perfectly, almost felt like we were at the same job haha In the past everytime my job was about to start I started shaking and crying, not even a love interest has made me feel the way that job did, so I totally understand that it has been the worst experience you ever had. Funny thing is, I also lasted 3 months and I had that job when I was 23 as well hahah now I'm definitely at a better place, so this sort of things definitely happen! Anyways, so happy you quit! it is definitely something to celebrate!:)

Hey Cora. Thank you for sharing. I recently had sort of a similar situation especially with the whole not wanting to quit anything and feeling embarrassed about it when I decided to take a leave of absence for the semester from school. I’m proud of you for listening to your gut and doing what was best for you! You know yourself best and this is just one job. There’s many out there and the right one is there for you. Thank you for being transparent and sharing your experience and thoughts. It makes me feel understood. I hope you are well :)

I totally get you... I've been through something similar. What I learned from this is that the corporate world is not for me. I find that type of life miserable. I noticed I felt better in school and in the academic world, and I decided to accept (because it was something I denied myself) that I should be a teacher. The academic world is for me, and it might be for you, too. Sometimes, we think something is good for us, but we are wrong. Only testing it can truly prove that we aren't suitable for N, X, or Z. It is only knowing what we don't want, that we learn what we do want!

in grade 11, i debated dropping bio for weeks because the atmosphere was so unbearable. my teacher, my classmates, the work, was not fit for me. i literally dreaded this class so much everyday and had grades that were so out of the ordinary for me. i ended up getting sick for like a week (probably as a result of the stress from this class) and i just felt like there was a mountain of work on top of me that i could not climb out of. i ended up sobbing and dropping the class. i cried and regretted it so badly and drafted an email BEGGING to be re-enrolled but i made a pros and cons list of the benefits of this class vs dropping it and it literally helped so much. i swear the weight of the world lifted off my shoulders. i was so done. i don't regret it now. so many other options in the world; that one just wasn't it for me. honestly, good for you for recognizing that it wasn't right for you. that takes some strong personal insight and courage.

Cora babe, no need to be embarrassed or feel like a quitter! Like you said, something that brings you this much unhappiness and causes such demise on your emotional well-being, is not worth your time and energy. You only get one life, so it's important to listen to your heart and do what you feel is best for you. If you don't have your mental and emotional health, you have next to nothing. Stay strong and as Lauren Alaina once said, "show what you got and just own it - no, they can't tear you apart - If you trust your rebel heart, ride it into battle - don't be afraid, take the road less traveled." Sending love from Wisco💙

I am so grateful you're sharing this story with the world. I feel so understood by your words. I am working as a teacher on a private high school and let me tell you that it's horrible. On one side, the school keeps pressuring me to be a different person of who I am and on the other side, students don't respect me only because I am young. Their behavior is only getting worse as the months pass by and I am feeling more and more angry and depressed. I have been crying every single day after class and I see no hope. I have devoted many years of my life working to get this job and now that I have it... I don't want it.
You're so brave and powerful. I hope you can get a job where you feel comfortable and happy. Cora, I send you a big hug from Spain!!
