Thank you captain Caleb “Tango” Robert and the demo team - I saw this routine in Trenton Ontario June 30th and it was awesome - same amazing show and makes me proud to be Canadian! Cheers
I live 5 minutes from RCAF Trenton and just did the 100 anniversary show last week. It was my first and the CF18 Hornet and the US F16 are what sparked my new love. Fighter jets.. scariest and coolest piece of technology I've ever witnessed. Shoutout to the crazy adrenaline junky pilots
Hell of a video man! The jet looks great, the demo looks like it has some slight changes and TANGO loves ripping it up. Looking forward to seeing it in a few weeks. Thanks for the content 🤟😎
Thank-you Tango, it's a little late but depending on how things go he's inspired me to become an AWST or something else in the RCAF and if that doesn't work out I will be joining the CAF army, it's sad to see no demo but a Tactical demo with limited CF-18's as the RCAF is modernizing itself to F-35s, first four coming in 2026 so can't wait to see what that brings us super excited for CIAS next year...
Those legacy CF-18 Hornets have served us well, I do wish we were still going with a twin engine fighter such as the Super Hornet I think it would have been an easier change for the pilots and service crews.
Boeing was bending us over for Super Hornets price wise. CF-18A/B to F/A-18E/F would have been easier for current pilots and ground crews, but the SuperHornet would have saddled us with a jet. Instead we bought the 25 F/A-18A/B from Australia and converted them over to Canadian specs. F-35 has better range, speed, acceleration, handling even when carrying a full fuel/weapons load. the F/A-18 E/F SuperHornet cannot break Mach 1 with a full fuel/weapons loadout, esp. at low level. I also don't think we need to invest in another carrier capable aircraft, when we will never use that capability.
The Super Hornet only looks similar. Internally its a totally different beast that would require the same total retraining and all new equipment. Better to buy the latest tech instead of a design that was penciled in the early 90s.
I wish they went with the f-15ex instead of the f-35, the modern f-15s are superior in almost everything except stealth and are much cheaper to maintain, so for fighting insurgents in the middle east it makes a lot more sense
keep in mind though they are hornets, this is a legacy hornet. the USN flys the super hornet, obviously not as maneuverable, but holds more characteristics. One thing to also keep in mind is they use these platforms for 2 totally different missions. the CAF doesn’t use the legacy’s for carrier ops. but none the less, they fly the shit out of this thing, saw them at eaa last week for the first time. absolutely outstanding! great video!
@@kickZtailout oh i figured! it was more of just my thought process as that was my first time seeing the CF-18, which leads me to my follow up, what’re the biggest differences that you notice between the 2? calm down buddy i’m not here to be that guy lol
Hey, love your video of the CF-18! Are you by any chance going to the Quinte Airshow this weekend in Trenton? Do you know what time they will be practicing on friday/thursday?
What would you suggest? Autotuned 💩 from the last decade? We don’t want the pilot deliberately doing a Boeing and flying into the ground just to get away from that cRap.
Ikr. Here in Europe, the displays of polish, Turkish, danish f-16s are crazy. The Belgian one was unbelievable! With the hornets, Spain, Switzerland and Finland, all are insane demos, especially the Finnish! And these are all legacy hornets aswell
They are now the deadliest they've ever been. AESA radar(AN/APG-79V4), AIM-9X Block 2, AIM-120D3,JSOW etc, the entire fleet(88 flyable) got Hornet Extension Project-1 and 36 of the lowest hour airframes are getting HEP-2.upgrades. Very similar to the upgrade packages that the USN/USMC F/A-18 C/D received and that the USMC currently fly.(just not from carriers anymore-land based only). The CF-35A will be introduced as follows: First Aircraft Delivery: 2026 Initial Operational Capability: 2029-2030 Full Operational Capability: 2032-2034 Some of the CF-18s will have served for 50+ years by the time they are retired.

Damn awesome demo! Love the color scheme! Also the announcer…” as he sets up he lets everything hang out for the dirty inverted pass” hilarious!
That loaded roll @ 4:24 is super unique! Good twist on it.
1:44-2:05 is absolutely insane 😮

Saw him at Selfridge, last month. Best demo I've seen!
What a gorgeous livery
This is crazy ... great demo ... and what a nice plane this is
Can’t wait to see it next month ! Greetings from Toronto
They really got the best of the best for this demonstrator pilot!
Tango is an amazing pilot that’s for sure
That paint scheme is 🔥🔥🔥
Excellent performance. A very well flown routine highlighting the Hornets strengths and beautifully captured.
Glad you enjoyed the video. And yes Tango flys the pants off the hornet this year.
You got the first demo of the 2024 season, I got the last demo of the 2024 season. Crazy good audio by the way.
@@AeroInsightMedia excellent! And thanks!
The CF 18 Demonstration plane always has the best graphics.

That dirty inverted pass was very impressive. All you DCS pilots go give it a shot. hint : spin recovery.

Great camera work! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you!
@AirshowAddict do you play DCS? If not you should.
@@l8knight845 yes I do. Terrible at it but it’s a awesome time in VR
The Canadians fly the absolute piss out of the Hornet. Higher energy and more dynamic than the US Hornet demo by far. We should be ashamed
This years demo is an awesome and aggressive profile. I still love my USAF super hornet demos too.
Compared to the 2022 season demo this one seems tame.

Looks like at 1:44 ish on the downward leg and pull up
an old design with modern flight controls... a MIG or SU pilot also has to be fit to keep up... great display
I still don't understand why they feel they must play old 80's and 90''s pop/porn music at air shows. I even heard a little country in there. Ha!
They're playing playing the top 10 when from when this aircraft rolled off the assembly line!!! LOL

Because the music then is better than the crap they put out today
Music makes the Airshow experience better bro
I swear the US military has the most boring demos of the planes THEY BUILD! Every other country that demos our planes is better!
