I mean, I think trained is pretty mild. Her previous label refused to put any songs with “politics” on her albums - she “got away with” Welcome to New York because NYC paid for it as an ad campaign song - and her father constantly told her that if she told anyone her politics in any way, ever, she would end up worse than The (Dixie) Chicks because she wasn’t as famous as they were when they spoke out, and look what happened to THEM and did she want to do that to her family and all the people she employed? How would she feel about having to fire everyone, etc. I know a lot of Swifties love her father, and maybe he did generally believe those things, but…. 😒😒😒

That beautiful man dancing is Dexter Mayfield, and back 2018 he gave Fenty Beauty a viral sensation when he covered himself in Diamond Bomb and danced like he was a sparkling vampire in the Las Vegas desert. The video is still so damned iconic; it is WORTH watching!
Taylor has such a great way of burying social commentary into her lyrics and who she surrounds herself with, but she does it with these pop music backgrounds and so a lot of people just dismiss it as another pop song. She’s not what people expect and it’s awesome!
The guy she’s walking with in the scene where she has blue hair (the parade scene), that’s Todrick Hall. He made a video on RUclips of himself singing Taylor Swift songs. That was in 2015 and then she invited him backstage to meet at her 1989 concert; they met and the two have been friends for years. She made him Executive Producer on this music video and he was one of the backup dancers in Look What You Made Me Do. I think he’s a choreographer now.

The “husky” gentleman in the video is actually one of Taylor’s dancers and is on the Era’s tour. Coincidentally (or not) his brother (or cousin I forget which) plays for the Kansas City Chiefs. Another connection to Travis. If you watch the Eras movie you will see her dancers are all shapes & sizes, talent is the common denominator.

Love them, regardless if you don’t understand their sexual preferences, that part of the maturing individual you birthed isn’t your business to try to control or dictate. I grew up with my granddad's best friend being a "cinfirmed bachelor" & some cousins who had roommates. At that time, they were included but unless in safe spaces could not let on that things might be more physical. My granddad as doctor, worked hard to have them treated as next of kin in health matters. But the law saw things differently.
Unfortunately, the 80s were a very hard time for my uncle and his friends. I ended up inheriting a gay bar at 18/19. I am a cis straight woman but tried to keep it open as long as possible as a safe space.
That community supported me with love & I hope I have given back. Coming from a home of love & acceptance, I wasnt prepared for the horror storiesof how so many people were treated by family, friends, and the law.
It made me glad to see you react with both such caring and nonchalance. I hope by my great grandkids da(,maybe sooner but...) that peopke do not understand why this seemed like a controversial video or cost her a lot of cheese &cracker followers.

You should do a reaction to "Everything You Missed In Taylor Swift's 'You Need To Calm Down' Video" (link below). The details this woman puts into her videos is crazy. It also tells you who everybody in this video is. I'm 67 and didn't know her music at all. But when I saw Fox News going after her I really wondered why and started looking into her. I love watching reaction videos but usually watch people reacting to the music I grew up with from the 60's through the 80's. I figured if I wanted to delve into her music why not do it through reaction videos. I've discovered I actually enjoy a lot of her songs. Her lyrics are both catchy and clever. I'm far more impressed than I thought I would be.

If you look at her past, alot of her managers didn't let her speak her mind. Political. Then after after awhile, she said I will be me and say what I believe in.
Taylor have spoken out as early as 2010/2011 about support of people who are lgbt. She stated in an article that she does not judge.
That was Katy Perry. I read the idea behind it was they were beefing and Taylor was salty about it. Hence the burger and fries lol! I really like the lyric “shade never made anybody less gay” because it’s so spot on.
