Glad to see you finally get one of these. I actually copied Kevin's idea with a worm clamp and two screen door rollers and it worked but about six months ago I bought a 3D printer then purchased and downloaded Kevin's STL files. There were people saying the V1 yoke would loosen up and be okay over time but that was not the experience of either me or my brother. The elevator stickiness ruined an otherwise outstanding product. This device should be considered mandatory for any Velocity One yoke owner. Turtle Beach should cut a deal with Kevin.
Had one of these for about 6 months. Was thinking of selling the Turtle Beach yoke for a Honeycomb, but while it may not be perfect. This product has made a massive difference. Enjoying flying with the TBv1 now.
I added it about 8 months ago. Doesn't solve problem 100% but does make the yoke useable. Before I added it the elevator action was so jerky that landings were difficult.
The tension adjustment of the clamp screws is very fine. I've found that if you get it just right it does solve the problem 100%, Try playing around with them.
Thank you for an excellent video. I wasn’t aware of this fix. I won’t be purchasing this just yet . I today sent email to TB regarding the colour lighting on B4 on throttle plus photo. The button is half red and yellow. The red appears on all the lighter colours. I wait in anticipation for a response from TB. I bought the yoke on 12th July 2023. Thanks again Rob
Thanks for the review, I've also just ordered one, and will respond again when it arrives and I've fitted it. I'd watched other youtube videos where the Guy opens up the yoke and carefully smooths out the roughness in the plastic collar on the spring shaft inside, but this looks like a much better way of solving the design flaw, by directly supporting the yoke underneath.
Thanks so much for your time and effort in producing this video. I was very disappointed the elevator feel and binding once it was set up and in operation. Appreciate your expertise and recommendation, looking forward to making this Velocity One product much better than the original company model.
It's strange because the first V1F Yoke I got two years ago was sticky to start with, then wore in considerably after a few months. Due to a software problem that couldn't be resolved I got sent another one a few months ago which was not sticky at all out of the box. I've done the same tests as Huddison in the C172 today and can't detect any stickiness in pitch at all - completely smooth on take off and landing. Must just have got a good one I guess! It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had my experience. For those that haven't been so lucky (including those making comments here) I must say this bit of extra kit will be a godsend.
£27 + VAT + shipping to the USA. My cost is about 150% of the asking price. I just ordered mine and expect to get it in about 6 weeks, hopefully sooner. Keeping my fingers crossed. My track record for buying stuff like this from Europe is about a 50% success rate. That's for actually receiving the product I paid for. Come on, Kevin! Don't let me down. 👍🏻
@@kevinvandijk86Your word is as good as gold and so is your product! I received it several weeks ago. To be honest I quite forgot about it…and that is a good thing. It was very easy to install. The TB yoke works smoothly and easily. I don’t notice the yoke motion anymore. The aircraft is so much easier to control. Well done!!!
Is there more friction turning left-right? The cleaver Kevin seems to help lifting the yoke, but the rollers are facing the length of the yoke and side movements could be more difficult? I suggest some kind of floating ball that is touching the metal pipe.
I noticed that you have the airbus detents/handles on your velocity one. Are those from prodesksim? Are they good? and easily interchangeable (mainly the detents) if you want to fly boeing aircrafts?
I tried to ask Kevin directly but haven't heard back from him (yet)... When installing this, obviously you don't want to torque down on the screws on the top strap too much or *snap*! Question is...if you have it installed correctly, when you push in / pull out on the yoke, should the little roller wheels on the bottom of the device turn (rotate)? Or they just there to take up any "slop" in the shaft should it move?
@Huddison, I just purchased both the yoke and flight sim and my only comparison is FSX and the CH Yoke (which I find better). Is it "normal" for the Velocity to exhibit extreme pitch both up and down? I find it difficult to stay level and the trim wheel seems to be zero help. I have put the magnet in place as it was rolling around in the inside, updated firmware to 1.5 and recalibrated it. Would like your thoughts if it is "normal" or perhaps my yoke is defective. Thank you.
I might be interested in correcting this design problem but I can't even get to that point yet because the elevator axis won't even function in the software/setup on my Xbox. I updated the firmware and then it can't even be recognized by the Xbox now. Turtle Beach seems to be having this problem but not really addressing it.
Sad that over a year later this is still needed on many peoples new V1 yokes. Turtle beach should have done this themselves by now. I’d buy this and another V1 yoke, but I’m now in 150k debt due to the cardiac arrest last year and follow up open heart surgery. I survived those but would not survive what my wife would do to me if I bought another one. I’m using a cheap Logitech stick atm.
Not exactly working right now. Now it is not working at all. Holes for thr pins are too small for pins to go through one of the holes. Need the size of the holes so I can ream them out.
It looks Like Kevin's mod has sold out currently; keep an eye on the link I provided in the description. Let's hope Kevin sees this message and can inform you of the full cost.
Shipping is indeed worldwide 😊
Thanks dude. Transformed my yoke.
Wonderful thanks Kevin!

Well commented and many of us agree.

I saw another video about this before buying my V1 and ordered the mod before I'd even received the V1 and I'm very happy with it.
Got the modification as well. Works like a charm! Highly recommended! 👍🏻
I have just received mine today in Australia, great piece of kit, the yoke runs back and forth perfectly. Thanks
Great to hear, it does seem to make a very positive difference.
Absolutely fantastic product.
It's a shame Turtle Beach acts like the sticking pitch isn't a problem and claim it "fixes" itself after a few days.

Yeah. Got the STL files and did the hack. There’s an improvement definitely 😊

@@pi.actual I got better results working then with sensitivity and the hack
Thank you I never knew about this. Purchased mine directly after watching you content…. No dilly dallying for me 👍

This little mods greatly improves things.
My yoke was almost unusable before getting this... I'm loving it!
Makes a huge difference doesn't it.
Nice. I am waiting for mine to arrive! Hopefully this week.
Absolutely amazing piece and the seller Kevin is extremely helpful. Ican highly recommend him and the product
Great video. Never heard of this product. What a clever guy. I'm interested in purchasing this.
You should, it transforms the yoke.
Based on the reviews I’m reading I just ordered mine, looking forward to my yoke working better🤞

There doesn't seem to be detrimental effects when banking left & right - in fact, it seems more fluid with the modification, in all the flight axis.
There's an inner shaft that turns left and right. The outer only moves front to back. So doesn't affect that.

Yes, both the wheels (at the bottom) should rotate when pushing/pulling on the yoke.
I just bought one after seeing it here.
I can't fault you - you'll love it

The Elevator Axis on the V1 Yoke can be a little extreme (hence the modification). I would say yours is not defective.
Thanks!

Is there a free shipping to US or a link or Ebay for US ?😊
See the pinned message ;)

if you contact me directly I can help you better than here on RUclips!

I bought the STL files and do it myself. Works , the problem is not resolved 100% but there’s a big improvement
@@kennypr I’m assuming you have access to a 3d printer. I unfortunately don’t.
look up "on demand 3d printing" There are a number of sites available now and not too expensive. You'll need to buy and download the STL file first.
Seems to be sold out 🤔. Are you planning on re-stocking soon?
I'm not the person who sells them.
@@Huddison oh alr no problem
Whats the DIY version of this?
You can pay a small price to download the schematics and 3D print it yourself.
Cool, just bought the stl files to print it myself. Got that file in seconds! Very reasonable price too in my own currency. Laurie. NZ. 😊
