I like that you used the example of the film Past Lives to demonstrate the complex dynamics of the situation

Absolutely accurate description of what actually is an emotional affair and what are the steps necessary to take to recover from it.
It's the most apt video for someone whose partner is in denial to make their partner understand. It is one of the most difficult and devastating experience for the partner who is cheated on . Thank you 🙏

Yes, and i thought this video was about the cheated partner, not the cheater. Title is how to recover, another recovery mechanism for the cheater, cheaters are supposed to be recovering all the time. I expected the video more on spotting a cheater and ending the relationship cos this is a cheating pattern with so many cheap and low self esteem people.

If they are hiding it, it's an affair.

In 2025 I will have been married for 50 years. I discovered my husband was having a very intense emotional affair with a friend. I am devastated. I had been working for a year to improve my relationship with my husband who admitted that he would purposely withhold emotional support knowing I need I love you a hug a kiss. We are trying to work things out but it is so hard for me to realize all the things I wanted he was giving to another. Even while I was trying to come onto him. He thinks because it didn’t get physical with her I should be able to get over but I’m not crying but I look at him in a different light and don’t know if it will ever be the same.

I don’t know what to do? Should I break up or not , I still have a lot of love for this person😭 and yet I’m hurt that they gave time to this other person and found it hard to leave them when they met each other ,and I was going through a hard time . 😢 even when I had told her , she still decided to spend time with her “friend”. It’s so hard and yet I respect that she told me once she realized what was happening but it hurts to know she was experiencing confusion about her feelings and continued to meet each other 😭 she asks me , why do you still want to date trash like me 😭
P.S. we’re lesbians (Korean living in Toronto, American in ny) in a long distance relationship 😢❤

i really enjoyed the insights you shared in this video; it’s always refreshing to hear a thoughtful perspective. however, i can't help but wonder if the idea of emotional affairs could be seen as somewhat subjective. for me, forming deep connections with friends can sometimes blur those lines, and it makes me question where loyalty should truly lie. what do you all think?

That’s a great question to ponder. And yes, those lines can get very blurry sometimes!

Therapist's men. Never allow your spouse to talk to a man as shell later start to talk about how good he is...thats the end of your relationship. 💯

“How to create a problem for your wife and bravely solve it over years”
No, you don’t need to tell if you had an emotional affair. It will not make any good.
