Hehe we Lithuanians/Russians also have that saying about mushrooms after the rain. Very interesting stuff, the choice makes me jelly because I live in s small town with barber and coffee shops. Oh, and charities.
Edinburgh has been getting better and better when it comes to options where to spend time and... well, money .D it's all so expensive these days!! I'm sure your coffee shops are a lot more affordable!
I’m coming to visit in a week. Can’t wait to check some of these out
Such a helpful video! I live on the edge of Edinburgh now so it's easy to miss most of these. On the mushrooms after the rain thing - it is an idiom we use in scotland too! mushlove x
I will be there next Sunday. Looking forward to it!🌹
Have fun! .)
You have really helped me, thank you!🌹
pretty good video , tks.
The Chaakuu Café looks amazing! The question is: will I still remember its existence next time I'm in Edinburgh (hopefully next year)?
The real challenge! You will just have to revisit my whole video backlog right before you go, there’s no other way :D
Try that new Edinburgh Brewery.. Yikes brew Co...
*Granton Bay IPA* it's sublime.
*Barry*
Will need to check it out! Thanks for the tip!
Good morning beautiful
While not necessarily new, my absolute favourite restaurant in Edinburgh is the Malaysian 'Nanyang' near the Meadows. I remember when I first went there I ordered too much to eat and was absolutely devastated the next day that I didn't at least take it home. Going there again in a couple of days and will most definitely be ordering too much but I'm determined to finish it this time!
Love Nanyang too, a cool little place! Plus that whole little plaza within Quartermile is such a little quiet oasis in otherwise super busy student area!
The roll at Pablo Eggs Go Bao was literally the best version of a Mcdonalds sausage and egg mcmuffin, and I adored it. I would recommend everyone make a pilgrimage over there pronto.
Definitely should not be watching it when I'm hungry ! ha
If you like scones, you have to try Betty and George in Inverleith, loads of handmade scones to enjoy before the botanical gardens. Also Di Giorgio nearby is a fantastic italian brunch/lunch place
Great tips! Will put them on my list .)
Wh are you still going to get plenty of new ideas for where to go anywhere to spend your hard earned money visi no my shirt my temple I never gonna do Italian unfortunately that is not on the agenda today but we will be doing spicy food and let you know Frisco and maybe even getting some desserts that you definitely have not had before and if you did then 1:00 53
Keen to try Herringbone this weekend. Twin it with a trip to Bellfield Brewery. I’m interested to see you trying Lola’s Cafe on Leith Walk. The new Indian place looks like Dishoom. I lived Lucky Yu on Broughton Street. The food was fantastic.
complaining a day ticket on the tram is £5 but a single bus ticket into town where i live is like £9 and the trains to anywhere are like £40-100. seems crazy to me haha. The video was super helpful tho thanks :)
And all of that should be complained about as well! Welcome to the club! .D
2 weeks to go (to wait?) ... this is definitely a very dangerous vlog. So much to eat, so little space in the stomach. Hmmm. 😂
Oooooh are we gonna bump into each other? If you do see me during your travels please do say hi!!
@@Kakibotf you are walking across Greyfriars I can wave from my vacation rental window 😄
Tongpakfu is a perfect place for me to enjoy Asian desserts and drinks, I love their pineapple bun with smashed taro and red bean pastry
The music selection in this video is incredible!
Love the video and great music. 👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! .)
Leaving a comment for the Algo-Gods 😁
🙌
Green Bite Cafe has the best scones I ever had in Edinburgh.
Thanks for the tip - will need to check it out! .)
Love your channel! I’ll be visiting Edinburgh in a few weeks and will try at least three on your list. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Glad you’re enjoying the content and the tips! .) hope you have a great time .)
I've enjoyed all my visits to Ancient Robot Games since they opened. Great atmosphere and community they have built up already.
Really liked the vibe, too! Felt very welcoming.
Wonderful video. Glad to hear so many new places opening up…there’s hope yet for COVID/Brexit recovery 👏 🤷🏼♀️ You had me at “the best scones ever” for Red Kite - that combined with the tram extension. I’m so excited my next visit to Edinburgh has been expanded so easily with the new tram route. Oh, and the coffee shop called Two Children. Just love the name. 🙋🏼♀️😊☕️🥐🍰
With the new tram stops you're gonna feel like a whole new part of town has opened up to you! To me especially Leith Walk, not being covered in tramworks anymore, feels like a totally new area!
My son and I will be there next month and the Ancient Robot Games will definitely be on our list! Thanks!
Do they have some nice cafe where one can eat something like Prague cake or Swarzvald cake in Edinburg?
For a “continental” cake I’d recommend perhaps Pastry Section? They don’t really do traditional recipes specifically, but their cakes feel a bit more… European to me, for sure! I also love Falko in Haddington, an Austrian bakery/konditorei which might have exactly what you’re looking for! That’s a bit of a day trip though.
Thanks a lot.@@Kakibot
Do you think Chakoo is ok for a solo traveler? thanks
Absolutely! The smaller plates are perfect to try multiple things! Plus I think in Edinburgh the solo dining thing isn't all that odd to see, go for it! .)
Oh perfect timing in two and a half weeks I will be back in Edinburgh and definitely will try some of those spots out. 🥰
Love your videos and Edinburgh! My gf and I went there on February only for 2 days (sadly) and loved everything that we got to see.
We are saving again so we can visit next year!
Are there any discord servers, chats or instances that you recommend to meet scotish people that wanna make new international friends? c:
Great vid as always, you keep me in touch with Edinburgh grazie :-)
Excited to try these places when I go, especially the scones and pineapple bun. I'll let you all know how I liked them.
Going to Edinburgh in 2 weeks and am excited to try some of these!!! Thanks for tips!!❤❤
I have taken so many notes on your Edinburgh uploads in the past few years - thank you! I'm going hardcore west coast on my upcoming trip and have excluded the east and capital. However, I have an open return ticket and may just end up back in that beautiful city. Edinburgh is fantastic! Slàinte mhath!
I was considering coming to Edinburgh Christmas time for a long weekend and because of your videos I’m booking my stay! Can’t wait to visit the Christmas Markets and cafes/restaurants you have recommended!
Thank you love
Been looking forward to new Edinburgh content!
THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME TONG PAK FU!! (As an HK-born who grew up in London I've been seriously missing the London Chinatown dessert scene)
Here in Edinburgh it definitely takes some digging to get to the good stuff! Glad this video was helpful!! ❤️
Great video! I can't wait to try out Tong Pak Fu as a person coming from Hong Kong and having lived in the UK for the past 2 years! Have you been to the Glock (just off the meadows) by any chance? I am not sure if you have done a video covering this place before but they do AMAZING Asian-fusion food like Tom Yum spaghetti and matcha cakes. They are so good!
Only been to Glock once - really liked it! Seemed very hard to get in without a reservation though, so couldn't revisit since my first time there .) if you recommend the tom yum spaghetti then I deffo need to go back!
I'm leaving for Edinburgh next Monday, ahhhhhh! Adding all of these to my neverending list of places to eat, especially Chaakoo and Pablo Eggs Go Bao!
Good choices!!!
Is that an onigiri tattoo I see?? 🍙 one of my favorite foods! Thanks for all your great videos, including this one. I'll be visiting Scotland in October and can't wait! Will definitely try to check these places out 😊
Yesssss well spotted! 🍙
Thank you for watching my videos! Are there any video topics you think might be helpful to watch before you travel? .)
I will be visiting Edinburgh next month for the festival, so thank you for all your videos!
It is a bit overwhelming all the good places to visit, and places to eat!
If I see you on the street, I will make sure to say "hi!" And get a selfie with you! Thanks again for all your videos, they are helpful!
If you bump into me absolutely say hi! Love when that happens .) have a great time during the festival season!
Yum! I gotta try these!
❤❤❤Thank you that was very delicious and delightful 😋
Thank you for watching! .)
Bro, the info you provide is gold!
I'm coming to visit in a month!
🙌 Thanks! Super glad to hear it's helpful!
I’m sure it’s always nice for the locals to have new places to check out.
Great for the excitement, bad for the wallet! But it's cool so many places are popping up, makes me feel optimistic about the economy, or at the very least about small business owners' bravery!!
Love from India ❤ I was in Edinburgh for 3 months for work. Video made me nostalgic, very lovely :)
I can see your profile pic is from Edinburgh! Clearly many nice memories from your time here .)
@@Kakibot 🥰🥰🥰
I enjoyed the mushroom reference. I'm from Austria, so that definitely is a figure of speach I'm familiar with.
I would say it’s sad that most British people choose to miss out on all the foraging but at the end of the day at least there’s more left for us euro gatherers! .D
@@Kakibot true, I wish I knew any mushroom hunting spots around Edinburgh. I LOVE mushrooms.... 😍
Always awesome to see Simon make a cameo appearance, in your videos. That Indian food he was eating looks amazing. Wouldn't mind hitting that place up, on my next visit. 😁😁😁
I bet he loves when I shove the camera into his face just as he's trying to not make a mess while eating a taco 😂
