This A119S footage was created with 26 Mb/s bitrate modified firmware. The Sharpness value was reduced by 50% from original stock level to create an acceptable Strong-Normal-Soft range. Give this MOD a test drive and let me know if Sharpness is acceptable with your Lens focus. Always view RUclips Dashcam footage in highest quality.

Hey, I have an iTracker a119s unit with following fw: ...170707_VV1.5. Would I get better quality by using this fw? Is it possible to use it? Also is it possible to brick the unit through the update process? How is the quality at night since I've seen that in the dark it is almost impossible to read the license plates - they are all just white plates. As you can see I have lots of q :)

Would you recommend the idea of installing a small heatsink onto the metal processor plate with thermal paste in order to help it to maintain lower temperatures during Mod use?

My Bitrate MODs don't generate that much heat, changing from 30fps to 60fps generates 3x more heat than any MOD. Direct sun is the issue, common sense suggests shading the camera itself to lower temperatures. Park in the shade, drive with air conditioner on, detach camera if parked all day in sun without using Parking Mode. Heat sink doesn't help the sensor chip heating from 60fps.

@@bchobbyist First of all, thank you so much for your time and contribution to the dash-cam community. I have a question. What is the maximum bitrate provided from the manufacturers v4.0 firmware, since they only label it as normal and high. By how much has it increased after your MOD? Is there anything left to work on in the A119S model that would help to improve image quality. So far it looks great after installing your MOD on my camera, but I just cant help being curious to see if it is possible there is more room to play whit the hardware capabilities.

The A119S stock v4.0 firmware high bitrate = 24 Mb/s, with MOD = 26 Mb/s. The dashcam supports 32 Mb/s or higher using older v2.61 firmware. Difficult to unlock the 26 limit in v4.0 firmware which is a shame since the new A119V3 replacement dashcam stock v1.0 FW uses high 30 Mb/s bitrate.

BC Hobbyist yes, that’s a shame they there is plenty of capabilities in this camera yet they have it locked it down so they can sell their new products. Hopefully a work around can be found soon for this and any of the other models that are well capable. Thanks for your response and your contributions. I definitely will subscribe to your channel.
