Wow 1k views!! Thank you so much for watching! I’m so happy to see my work appreciated. I realized I messed up some perspectives but I’ll improve next time :’)
To be honest, I came up with these characters because I just thought Waiting On A Miracle is an amazing song to practice storyboarding. Then I got quite attached and started to build up more stories that hopefully I have time and energy to share more…
Some settings because a few people ask (just some rough ideas, not concrete):
This story is a fantasy world inspired by the Nguyen dynasty of Vietnam. The main character in this animatic is Duong, a girl who was born in a military family with a rich history. Every member of her family (according to bloodline, not people who are married into the family) is blessed with some kind of power unique to themselves, though some are inherited from the members who passed away. It is believed that the White Tiger - the honored symbol of the family - is the source of their blessing (is it though…? :D). The statue was built by their ancestors a few hundred years ago, so they built their home there to honor the Tiger with their ancestor.
As a kid born in a prestigious family, Duong is educated equally as her two older brothers and cousins, but she always feels like she’s less than her generation for not having any power, making her a humble and reserved child.
Her father is obsessed with the family legacy because of his love for his wife and respect for his father-in-law. He got too involved in politics and used his kids, nieces, and nephews as tools to achieve his goal (though there are more layers to that). Meanwhile the mother is …complicated. Yes, that cool stormy scary lady is her. Let’s just keep that image of her in your mind for now. Anyways, the father moved the family to the capital so that it’s easier for him to approach his goal. There everyone tried to get used to the new place and find a use for their power.
After a few months, Duong felt completely useless and exhausted of not being able to fit in, part of that is because of her reserved nature. So she went back to their old mansion alone without telling anyone. This is the true context for this animatic haha sorry for the rambling above. The whole scene is just Duong reminiscing some past events of her family being cool while she wasn’t. Mood-
The people who appear during Duong reminiscence: The giant girl is her cousin; the one healing the bird is her eldest brother, he loves animals; the flower kid is her little cousin; the weather woman is her mom who is blind.

Later, her second brother ran away from the royal troop because of some drama in the palace (that hopefully I will make some boards about: he was sent to the military training when he was 6 because he’s good at it). He went home to find Duong because he heard she left, and of course to hide from the royalty. They found some secrets of the family power source revealed by their grandmother (no power). More political drama started a few hundreds years ago mixed with some fantasy elements that might destroy their country. So the two sibling on their way to save the country and their family :D

so Encanto but instead of it being based on 🇨🇴Colombia, it was based on 🇻🇳Vietnam? “Quyến Rũ” then? (quyến rũ is Vietnamese for “charm” and charm in Spanish is “encanto”)
As a Vietnamese, I can say for sure that this is the best cartoon I have ever seen related to Vietnamese culture. Really look at the costumes associated with the country's history such as Ao Dai, Ba Ba shirt, Giao Kim shirt, .. and then back to the background, it only takes a few scenes but it is so beautiful and still retains a bit. Ancient architecture that I know. Also thank you for bringing a Vietnamese culture to the world^^.

This is really good! I have been searching up animatics to this song since I loved the song and am currently making an oc animatic to the same song. I have seen a lot, but this one by far is my favorite. It feels close to professional! I love the clarity and simplicity, as well as how you showed everybody's powers and how you did the part showing what she would do! The story is also interesting! I absolutely LOVE how you demonstrated everybody's powers and how she really is normal. You really deserve more! Hope to see more stories and animatics from you! Keep it up! This is soo underrated!! I love the characters here, the emotions and transitions are really well done. I could imagine the girl having some sort of connection to the white tiger just like how mirabel has a connection to the candle, that would be so cool
