The story mode in sluggers was a glorified tutorial. The open world was kinda cool but superstar baseballs challenge mode is so much better because you actually play baseball

Super Sluggers is still one of the best sports games ever. Its got such a huge roster and its so well crafted. My brother and I used play all the time and if you don't curve the ball we'll hit a home run every time. Such a good game
I love the idea of Luigi having his own minions being ghosts! I feel like to modernize it a bit maybe they can use the hotel from LM3 instead of the OG mansion? I think either would be cool!
There’s so much that I would love to see for a new sluggers game! Imagine if they let you make custom fields where you can add field hazards like bumps, mud pits, thwomps, geysers etc. it probably wouldn’t happen but it would add a huge amount of replayablity
The city stadium makes sense for Wario, since most Warioware games take place in Diamond City. I also think the Warioware characters could be used to fill up a Wario baseball team.
The chemistry system is a must, it’s so interesting! Tbh I don’t care about Mario sports but I adored Sluggers as a kid, maybe I’d buy a new baseball if it looked like more of what I liked back then
I was obsessed with mario superstar baseball as a kid. 100%ed the game. Always wanted to see more kong characters, specifically the DK64 crew. Lanky, Tiny and Chunky would be epic. Lanky having a stretch dive ability, chunky being slow AF but all power to rival bowser. Tiny having a fly ability to rob HRs or glide into a dead ball zone and make it back into play before landing to get the out. Please nintendo!!!!
they could have something like they did with mario kart with golden mario. They could have each team have a cosmetic and have them complete a story line which could unlock different skin versions, and possibly new characters. The story mode should not be super fast it should actully take some time and grinding. Like you start as mario you do challeges with other characters and they could either join your team or earn a point and use it to upgrade other characters on your team. Idk just an idea
I would pick up the newest Mario Baseball game in a heartbeat. I loved superstar for the GameCube and Sluggers for the Wii. Really hoping its in development.
I hate that as a whole the sports series is mostly tennis and golf. I want something like a sequel to Mario Sports Mix with every sport. Tennis, Golf, Basketball, Volleyball, Hockey, Dodgeball, Baseball, Soccer, and maybe even more.
For online play, just implement a Mercy Rule/Surrender option. It can be presented to a player if down by 7 or more runs in the 4th Inning and/or if down by 5 or more runs in the 7th Inning
Lot of series to add characters or new parks from. Mario RPG series, Mario Party, Land, Galaxy, World. Golf, Tennis, Strikers, Kart. Personally would like Lanky Kong, Chunky, Cranky, Klump, Kudgel, Kutlass. Then add Geno, Mallow, etc. 10-16 new characters while keeping old ones would be awesome. Better base running ai is required as well. Option to turn off team chemistry if we just want to use random team without getting buff or penalty.
One thing these games used to be good at is replay-ability by making you to play it to unlock things to use in free play. For example characters, stadiums, maybe usable items? The newer sports games you don't have much to unlock, just some new places to play, not even new characters.
When I was a kid I liked being able to demolish computer opponents with robbing runs with the buddy jumps and buddy throws. Looking at things now I vastly prefer less gimmicks in the GameCube version making runs, hits, and catches actually feel earned. Plus character abilities actually meant something (Clamber doesn’t mean anything in super sluggers) I hope we focus less on gimmicks for the eventual new baseball game. Not saying we can’t have them I just love how they were implemented in the original Mario baseball

Buddy jump and close play are like the 2 things I dislike most about sluggers I hope they bring in different mechanics if they make another entry in the series. Give all characters unique fielding traits not just universal buddy jump for everyone
We needs benches and each charecter getting boosts at certain positions, such as Waluigi bring a good 1irst baseman due to his lankiness and abikity to reach out for force plays or toads speed letting him thrive in the outfield

I didn’t grow up with Mario golf or strikers, but I did grow up with baseball and tennis. It’s funny how Mario power tennis was so perfect that they just ported it to the Nintendo Wii, but they felt like superstar baseball needed an upgrade, but i’m glad cuz sluggers is amazing
I’m shocked it’s taken so long for a new Mario baseball. Since teams are at least 9 players you need 60+ characters to have unique teams. We need a new game desperately. I hope it’s not a switch 2 exclusive cause I don’t know if I’m getting the switch 2 but I will buy a switch 2 for Mario baseball. Also add some non Mario characters like they did to Mario kart.

I've always been jealous of other territories getting Super Sluggers because it looks like such an amazing game and the roster is absolutely fantastic. Something I always wanted them to add is making the importance of stats much higher, for example, making the main heavy hitters have a much higher liability in their weak stats or a smaller hitting window compared to the others. I always found it odd how u can’t really be punished for selecting majority big guys and hit HRs all game to win

Battle league was garbage. Strikers on the GameCube was the best and Mario Baseball is the best on the GameCube as well. If they release the game I hope they do it right rather than what they did with battle league.

I’d rather them just re-master superstar baseball on gamecube and make it online there’s still a huge following.
Something I always wanted them to add is making the importance of stats much higher, for example, making the main heavy hitters have a much higher liability in their weak stats or a smaller hitting window compared to the others. I always found it odd how u can’t really be punished for selecting majority big guys and hit HRs all game to win

Battle league was garbage. Strikers on the GameCube was the best and Mario Baseball is the best on the GameCube as well. If they release the game I hope they do it right rather than what they did with battle league.

This dude is completely forgetting the fact that a lot of these new Mario sports games on the switch have FUMBLED the assignment hard core. Strikers battle league can't even hold a candle to charged. Tennis is mid at best. golf is ok in my opinion
