- Join me and customize your perfect BB, CC Cream Cushion Compact! Not only is this so easy and quick, but seriously cost-effective and I enjoyed concocting many variations using my favourite products which turned out better than I could imagine. Well, with the exception of one curdled mess. I have no idea why I didn't do this forever ago!
This is a great way to jazz up any drugstore foundation. You can also recycle your old, finished compact cases to hold your existing favourite foundation in a handy, portable format that you can take with you everywhere for easy touch-ups or travel. Definitely use within a month!

I'm so glad you mentioned why you shouldn't mix an SPF product in. So many of these tutorials I've seen mix in an SPF and yours is the first one I've seen that explains why you shouldn't do that.

Thank you so much for this DIY video! As a woman with darker skin, it's really hard for me to find an affordable cushion foundation compact, if one at all. It's almost 2017, and I feel that the companies don't have any excuse to exclude dark-skinned people like this. But for now, I will make my own thanks to this video!!

I used an essence, serum, a whitening cream and Aloe Vera Gel with my lancome Foundation and a little bit of aritaum and missha bb cream. and its the best thing ever! no cushion Foundation worked for me, i tested cheaper and more expensive ones and hated them all. but the one I made myself just looks like... Skin! I don't need to powder, i don't need to Touch up, its perfect ! thank you for this inspiration, Renée! I just ordered some of those empty cases to play around a little more!
When you want to refill your cushion do you just insert a new DIY core or do you have to get a whole new compact
@@tiggerrox2010 the only thing you should replace is the sponge you use on your face! You can just wash the compact out and reuse.

oh my gosh - this is an absolutely amazing idea! I would have never thought to create my own bb cushion, but this is perfect because I haven't been able to find cushions light enough for my complexion in America. Thank you for the idea / advice! :)

Hey Renée! Thanks for the video. I bought a pink Memebox cushion, poured in my beloved Estée Lauder DW in Dawn, Missha Time Revolution Essence, SharaShara Berry Bomb Ampoule, and some Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Perfecting Primer. I mixed it all up...and the results are fantastic. Most cushions that I see have a very dewy finish and are not dark enough for my skintone. I have very oily skin, so this idea is great. I love how cushion foundations apply so effortlessly. Above all else, I want for it to look natural!

great video. you can also reuse the cushion packages you already have, like the loreal one, when you run out of the actual product and the cushion dries out. just wash it well before refilling!
Thank you for explaining why not to mix in sunscreen! I never thought about the UV blocking parts and the potential for it to separate and not work!
I made my own cushion today and I love it! I think that this is a great idea as my skin needs change with the weather, I can add more moisture in the winter and tea tree essence in the summer! Now I can touch up my makeup without dragging a lot of products around with me.

I've been side-glancing DIY cushion compacts for a while...never occurred to me to wash and reuse one! thx for head's up on Hadalabo lotion, would have definitely thrown that in there... *pulling on lab coat and getting ready to play*
Mine is Estée Lauder DW, some of their night repair serum and some Clinique moisturizer. Have the propolis in my cart to try for this spring and summer!

I am doing this for my Iope and Maybelline cushion compacts. The liquid foundation is twice as much product for half the price. Very excited.
Plus I discovered more original foundation when I flipped the bottom sponge.
Pore Tightening Sebum Control, Tea Tree Essence, Infallible Pro-Matte from L'Oréal, along with the Instant Pore Eraser from Maybelline and very little of my favorite moisturizer. Gives a great matte finish with skincare properties. Loved the tutorial and am very satisfied with my CC cushion.

Yes, the lighting makes me look very, um, reflective here :) You should use your favourite matte finish foundation and use an oil control primer in place of moisturizer.
Wow this is amazing! I had seen these compact cushions on MEMEBOX but I just thought you could use it to put your liquid makeup in. I just want to ask, what do you think of my cocktail: aloe vera gel. Tea tree oilby body shop. My foundation is the loreal infallible 24 hr foundation and then celeteque facial moisturizer. Is it better to leave the tea tree oil or the aloe gel? Thanks for your answers 😄😄

HI Gothamista, I normally mix Avene water with Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation in my hand to make a hydrating and lighter weight foundation for everyday. Will this work as a cushion foundation or will the added water create mould? Also, how long does the cushion foundation last before you have to clean it out and make a new one? Thank you! Do you think this would work with a more concentrated foundation type like the cover fx cover drops? Or would you need a normal foundation since it's a 2:1 ratio of foundation & skincare? As always, loving your videos! :)
Hi! The ratio is really up to you and how much coverage you want or need. I think adding the cover drops will be perfect in this situation if you need more coverage or adding concealer works too!

Would it work just as well if you just put foundation in there? I don't have all this fancy-shmancy stuff, I just want the cushion foundation as a convenient option when traveling. Do you need those extra ingredients for a thinner consistency? Would just moisturizer work?

Maybe this is a stupid question, but anyway, how do you tell whether your product is oil or water based? I want to try this but what I have is cream foundation and I've heard that cream foundie usually contains some oil in it. What ingredients I shoud pay attention to? What about the skincare products? Also, do you use preservatives for DIY concoction?
