I've seen a pressure wash guy in England do pavers and he went over it at the end with new gap sand to replace the old sand that got washed out.

Yessir this was a full restore. It had a terrible foundation which made it difficult & also the pavers were not even with huge gaps in the joints, so that didn’t help either.
