Thank You,! Thank You! Thank You! I'm 64 years old, and I just received this exact A/C unit delivered to my home today. I usually go straight to RUclips to find a video on how to install, or whatever the need may be. I did my research on this unit before I purchased it, to see what kind of reviews it has received. I was happy to hear that you said it was a really good A/C. I will be installing it tonight, by myself. Thank you for all of your help! Sharon J.
I'm thinking of having my Avallon 12,000 BTU portable air conditioner serviced. I've had it for almost 10 years. However, I've considered that it might be more economical to just buy a new machine. It looks like the makers of your Whynter machine are the same people who make my Avallon machine. LOL It has the same types of features as yours, but they look a bit different from the ones in your video. However, the newest models of both the Avallon 12,000 BTU and the Whynter machines have parts that look identical. So, it might be that some time after you made your video, the two companies merged and combined their features to make their newest versions of both machines. In the end, your review was most helpful. Thank you for posting this.
Hi, any update a year later? Are the air conditioner units still going strong? Any problems? Did you ever use the heating function? How was that experience?
I have the same ac unit in storage since we moved. I'd like to see a video on the dehumidifying feature and how you can use it, and if you can use it in winter just for dehumidifying without having to attach the exhaust tubes. Our humidity is high because of all that rain.
Like your set up, but just thought I would share a point of information the discharge hose should be on the top and the intake hose should be on the bottom heat rises therefore put that hose on top cooler air intake should be on the bottom.
O!Technology I had this unit I sold it big mistake it’s an excellent unit the single hose units can’t compare they make the rest of the house warmer and more humid. Now I’m on the search to buy it again.
Plus an outside air deflector is useful - point the hot exhaust air up an little and the intake hose down a little... otherwise the intake will suck some exhaust... or use different windows... an acquaintance has a dual hose unit in his large motor home for use when parked. He made his own window panels - the intake hose sucks air in from a homemade panel in the passenger side window and the exhaust hose blows air out a homemade panel in the drivers side window... no chance of sucking in hot exhaust air.
Thank you. I have used the same one for my Semi Teuck. But I do not like when the pump is off, the fan is continuously blowing. Is it possible set to shoot off fan?

Thanks for this review. Central ac died recently and bought single hose portable under duress (central Florida). Getting by while doing further research, and want the model you have. Did I read somewhere about a small hole in the exhaust hose thru which the condensate tube can be run? Also, does unit expel condensate routinely or only when pump is on, or both? By the way, the negative pressure produced by two single hose units seems to raise the level of my tinnitus. Anxious to replace these units.
You're welcome. I didn't do a great job of it but I hope it helps someone. Yea the exhaust hose has a small hole in it that you put the condensate tube through, it'll automatically pump out excess condensate but for me it only happens when its on heat mode and in cooling mode it seems like the evaporation was sufficient. Yea negative pressure will bring in more outdoors air so dual hose is definitely better. Although I've found even these units create a slight negative pressure, and I found using the bigger exhaust hose as the intake instead works better to reduce the negative pressure.
@@OTechnology I bought one recently and it didn't have that small hole for the drain hose, so you may need to drill a small 5/8 hole on the side of the exhaust attachment, also it doesn't come with a hose for condensation drainage. Just FYI for anyone who reads the comments...
Thank you for this excellent review. I have a question. I bought this heat pump recently and I am using it in the heating mode. For some reason, the auto pump is not turning on. I have plugged the provided hose into the correct port in the bottom, but nothing comes out of it and the system shuts down because it is full. The only way to get water out seems to be the manual drain port. Any suggestions?

I knew you'd comment on this one lmao

You know it discharges the air at high velocity so the position doesn't matter it just gets shot a long distance.

Nice review! Nice Phanteks too! 👍
We just got ours! Thank you, good video.
Good to know... just ordered one and found this review after, among others.
Nice job. Just got one today. How' has it performed over the years?

Wouldn't it make sense to place the exhaust on top? Hot air rises? Maybe it's trivial?
It ejects air so strongly it doesn't matter. Doesn't get sucked back in.
@@OTechnology I’m sure some gets sucked back in. How could it not?
what diameter is that clear condensation hose?
You said you recently moved to the US for college. So how can you speak with an American accent? Your American English is excellent.

Might need to return it for a new one because it should be automatic
Were you able to remedy the problem with the condensate pump? How well does it perform in heating mode?
does that cold affect the electric outlet right there? have you pumped the aircon to your computer yet?
Why is their no cool air
Sorry but I got dizzy from all the camera rolling in such a tight space.
Don't move it so much!
What are the hoses wrapped with?
Reflectix insulation wrap
Honeywell 10,000 BTU Air Conditioner with Timer on QVC
The drain tube, what is the name of it? You said u bought it from home depot, I need to purchase one. Thanks
Its just a clear piping usually for aquarium or lawn irigation
Thanks
