I have the same ac for 6 years, but now it’s giving me troubles.
When I connected it ⚡️ it would start right away, but I can’t control it manually or remotely.
The only way it shuts down is when I disconnect it.
    What could be the problem?

Back when I got out of electronic school I wanted to open a fix it shop to fix small appliances. Back in the late 60's and early 70's small appliances where still fixable. I worked for Sunbeam a very large small appliance manufacture at one of there service centers. Over a very short period of time more and more small appliances became less serviceable. Till the shop I worked at closed its doors. Today it is a throwaway economy, if you get a few years out of a product you are lucky.

Good Evening Mr. Krasker. I have made the same experience. As I was a boy, maybe 10 years old, I did fix cassette recorders, tube TV’s, tube radios, turntables etc for the people in my neighborhood and I made good money. I learned a lot about these devices. Today that would be impossible. People would just throw away their devices, and I would not be able to learn about technology what I learned 40 years ago. Have a good night. It is nearly 11 pm in Los Angeles. 💤

Michael my name is Richard. I started the same when I was a small boy. I would take toys and old radios, clocks what ever I could find in the trash on my way to school in the morning. I would stash what I found in an abandoned lot and pick it up after school. I would take it home and dismantle it to bits. My mother took me to our family doctor and asked him what was wrong with me for doing such things. He told her, this is how he learns, you must let him do this. Have a good night my friend.

What can I do if my fan on AC mode stays on low? When I'm on fan mode, I can turn up the fan to 4. But on AC mode, it keeps going back down to 1. Are there any solutions for this?

Mine only blows hot air. How can I fix this?

    • @Woopnik

Hello Dan. There are a lot of different problems which can cause the AC to blow only hot air. Is the compressor turning on? Problem #1: Possible Cause: The unit is not set to Cooling mode. Solution: Press the MODE button until the COOL icon is shown on the display. Problem #2: Possible Cause: The filters are dirty or obstructed. Solution: Clean the washable pre-filter. Change the carbon or 3M Antimicrobial filter. Refer to the user manual for more information. Problem #3: Possible Cause: The air intake or exhaust is obstructed. Solution: Ensure there is at least 20” of clearance from the air intake (air filter area). Keep the length of the exhaust hose is as short and straight as possible. Do not block or cover the air exhaust. Let me know if my suggestions were helpful. If not I will dig deeper into the problem. Have a good night 😴💤

Good Morning. Do you still have the “hot air” problem?

@@Woopnik yes, unfortunately. I can hear the compressor turn on, and O let it run for 30 minutes to give it plenty of time get cooling. The unit on older but is new - never used. The filters are pristine. I did not connect the hoses during my test runs. Is that a must to get cold air to blow?

      How did you fix yours?

@@obeliskevin ambient stores website. you will have to google it because youtube doesn't allow me to post the actual url. Parts are cheap there. I ended up replacing the capacitors (all of them) and a bad discharge motor.

Hello Alfred. I cannot answer your question. I don’t have enough information to do that. Is there a vent part on top of your AC? If yes, it should be opening.or is the top of your AC smooth without any plastic flaps? Is your AC a Whynter ARC-14s/sh?

You didn't mention, did you end up buying a new unit, and is your unit truly dead ? So you got almost 6 years out of it ?

Hello seren8ty. I apologize for the misunderstanding. My Whynter AC is totally fine. One of my subscribers suggested to make a video about this topic. His unit would not turn on any more. So far I got about 7 years out of my unit and is still going strong. 😀
