The biggest mistake that I see is that we keep looking at Aliens from a human mind standpoint. We have no clue what their mindset is and should tread carefully when associating their intentions with human-like thinking. Edit: I am glad that my comment brought so many of you to talk together. And thanks to the person who said nice profile pic :)
Also, we always look to planets that could “support life”, but they could be so vastly different from us that they could need totally different conditions.
If they're an entirely different breed of life from humans I keep wondering if they would even have symmetrical bodies like humans and animals on earth.
@@joebarra1010 could be. I think they’re goin at it in the standpoint of what all livings things to our knowledge need to survive. Meaning everything from the smallest bacteria that needs hardly nothing to survive, to the largest and most predominant species that need a more vast diet and living condition. I do totally get the point you’ve made. What may need to meet certain criteria to survive on this planet, may not need any of that on a another. Keeping all of this in mind though, we can’t forget that we haven’t even reached the bottom of the sea on Earth yet and are still discovering new species. There could be another civilization of beings already living here that possibly doesn’t know about us either. It’s crazy.
I went to turn on the water hose last summer and got stung by a hornet that had a nest near by. I thought about giving them time to let their civilization progress to a point where they weren't so territorial and aggressive, then I killed them so I could safely water my garden.
And sadly if aliens showed up in broad daylight human civilization would sting. If they wouldn't just ignore/genocide us. If aliens could get to us they are way ahead if anything we can imagine. We wouldnt even be useful as slaves for them lmao

@@jasper4365 they know somthing is there. But they can’t fathom what it is. They do not have the ability. It’s outside the realm of possibility for them. It’s kinda like how most forms of light is outside our eyes ability to detect.
@Karl Franz yes and no. there is evidence of life on a bacterial level on other planets. at least in the past its not alive now. (which would be the superior life form anyway. it can exist in different places at the same time as a bacterial hivemind) but yes the techno utopia is clearly esoteric and gnostic/kabbalistic bs to put the people to sleep in their metaverse matrix energy cells..getting the last life sucked out of them. i am pro tech but the top doesnt want us to coexist with the machine they clearly want to replace us. they present dystopia as utopia. upside down
The whole conversation about why we haven't heard from any alien species is simple. they don't use radio waves to communicate. If they can travel faster than light it is logical to assume they use faster than light communication capabilities. How else could they maintain any sort of exploration? Think of how difficult it is to direct our robots on Mars and we can see that planet with our bare eyes.
Yes i agree, but physically speaking they could just loud speaker us from the sky assuming they have visited. Lately, I have been coming around to this idea that they are here but the big thing about them is that they actually look similar to us, so more interested in levers of power over civilization then they are communicating with us all. So, in that sense, they are communicating with us. Imagine what we would do if we found a planet full of human like creatures living in the medieval ages... Pretty sure we would want to insert ourselves as God like King's instead of deploying our tech to aid in their evolution. Just a thought.
I mean there might not even be any way to communicate that fast but they most likely not use radio waves but maybe they have just messengers with light speed ships because there is no other way like here in the middle ages, there must be a ton of different alien species if they exist and with different biology and lifespans so travelong around with messages might be nothing to them, who knows.

I think aliens would only interfere with our development for one of two reasons. #1. To preserve life. Keeping us from distroying ourselves. Or #2. To hinder our knowledge just enough to make us good slaves. Smart enough to use their tools but not smart enough to be a danger to them
Yea that makes sense but if we were gonna be slaves I think we already would have been that. If they come I think they come to help. UNLESS there was good aliens protecting us from bad aliens THE WHOLE DAMN TIME. If the good aliens lose we will be slaves to the bad ones....if we’re lucky
I keep thinking of the scene in Mike Leigh's movie 'Naked' where Johnny is talking to the tubby dumbo security guard about how limited human capacity for understanding the universe is. I'll paraphrase, 'Imagine going back to that primordial swamp and trying to explain to a prehistoric frog that his croak will one day evolve into Shakespeare, all the languages of the world, all the literature of the world. Just as that frog cannot possibly even begin to conceive of his destiny, nor can we.'
Intelligent life could be as 'rare' as only one form per every one million galaxies, but that would still mean there are two million forms of life out there, but it would all be very spread out.

The problem is that people equate life on other planets to life as WE know it. There is a species of fish that has adapted to survive in the acidic water of an active underwater volcano. People really need to understand that it's out there but may not be in the form we expect.

Main problem when the topic of aliens comes up is we keep saying there’s only so many planets that can house life but we’re comparing it to what can house humans. It’s never taken into account that an alien life form might prosper in other types of environments and that could be one of the main reasons we don’t really see them on earth outside of ufos because they wouldn’t be able to survive in our atmosphere.
just came to write this!!!, we need Oxygen, water, food and Warmth. There is nothing to say that there isn't species out there who have skin made of diamonds, if it was even used or saw as skin, we have no idea. Look at just on our planet alone, how different are we from a frog?, a cat, a shark, an alligator?, crabs who for some reason over time many different species of animals have evolved into, we have no idea and as it also says in the video, we are just starting our book. We are yet to break out of this matrix that we live in now

I think the size of the aliens would play a role in it also, we tend to think of aliens being about the same size of us.. but if aliens were the size of mice, or a teacup dog, they probably wouldn't want to risk interactions with other beings that are Giants compared to them.. They also might have never developed entertainment like we do, they might be fascinated by our broadcasts, and watch us like a reality show.. We seem to think they are going to think, communicate, look and behave like us. They may have no concept of fear, sadness, love, happiness, regret or anything to the extent that we do.. they might just be purely research driven, without the drive to interact with the research they are doing because it might taint their results...
I think the creatures in the flying saucers is benevolent, just because Joe can have this conversation. If they wanted to conquer us, or had malicious intentions, it would all be over already.
Maybe they persive time different than humans so we only think they would've already went viking on earths resources, maybe nothing on earth is of any interest nor use to them. Also why are we so sure they have the "uf Army" with them traveling all that space time, that is if they need to travel at all that far in their own mind, send the probes first and document the place, then if need be send the Cavallari. Maybe they got lucky cuz they arent trillion times smarter than us and got lucky with their probes, tic tac probes, im thinking of you, and the data gathered by the tic tacs did not justify the hassle of sending UF troops to earth, and the tic tacs are used as satellites until further notice. Kenneth Arnold saw strange crafts in June 1947, flying in an echelon formation over Mt. Rainier and reported the sun glistening off of the shining surface to have caught his attention. Further, he also reported that one appeared to have been wobbling like when throwing a stone over water. He went on to draw what looked like Batmans batterang. Looking at his art rendering, the craft that he drew looked very similar to the Horten Ho 229, a fixed wing craft that was designed in the 1930's in Germany. The Roswell incident occurred July 1947. That same design was later used in the 1970's by the US and ultimately became the B2 Spirit. All of this is very fascinating. I wonder if what Arnold saw was German tech in US airspace?

Lmao I love Joe's random optimism that they would interfere with our nuclear war and wouldn't let us ruin the planet... although I did hear some "whistleblowers" mention something the likes of that
I’m not even a big conspiracy theorist but UFO sightings go up 100x whenever anything nuclear occurs, almost like watching a toddler pick up a loaded .45, also in world war 2 the “foo fighters” were very common. Some pilots that survived the war would talk about glowing “fire” orbs flying next to their aircraft and doing radical maneuvers
Maybe they do interfere, surreptitiously. By all rights we should’ve destroyed ourselves with nuclear weapons during the Cold War. The chances of us not destroying ourselves were very low. Who’s to say they didn’t covertly nudge us in the direction of survival?
This ABC jurno from Australia is also a paid professional propagandist.. even Joe is suspicious and asks if he works for the state.. ABC employs him and is government funded.. so he works for the state.. ABC is also corrupt and hides known Pedos within its ranks
The scary thing is that even though we're in the 21st century, the mental processes and reasoning for most people despite our advancements is still in the 1800's.
You have a point. Only a small portion want to expand as a species and not a nation. If Star Trek taught us anything, nationalistic stuff needs to go when it comes to space.
Ken Arnold didn't say the craft looked like saucers, he said they moved "like saucers skipping across a pond". In fact he said they were boomerang shaped.
Joe brought up an amazing point but didn't follow it. There could well be many other planets with people, but another variable we don't consider, is that they would be experiencing cray weather and asteroid collisions and natural disasters like we do. They could be terrorized on a daily basis and can't get to an industrial level that gets them to star travel.
Here's a cool concept that's kinda mind blowing and humbling at the same time... The universe is 14 billion years old(give or take). It's taken life almost 4 billion years to get to this current point. It's taken life as we know it nearly 30% of the universe's age to get to where we are now. So what if we are the "ancient race" of the universe? Let's say life on earth got a head start on everywhere else, that would mean that the human race would be the most advanced and ancient race in our universe. Possibly. Just gonna toss that in...I'm not saying we are BUT it is a possibility. 🤯
It’s a very important point. Especially considering how conducive earth was to life. We have found many planets that would support life but only a few considered “better” than earth in terms of creating and maintaining life. Seeing as though we had quite an advantage here, it’s not completely unlikely we are among some of the earliest intelligent creatures in the universe. Additionally we don’t know if ftl travel is actually impossible. It’s possible that we will never achieve ftl travel and if that’s the case, other intelligent being that might have had 20000 years on us, might be more than 20000 light years away
@@psychonautpupildiallater7734 you can't use speculation as rock solid proof...in fact there is absolutely no rock solid proof of any alien life forms...so unless you have some high level, top secret, black book, information that no one else has then no it doesn't "say otherwise". 😉
Kenneth Arnold's sighting of numerous shiny objects did coin the phrase "flying saucer", although this wasn't due to the shape of the craft as stated, but rather the trajectory of the crafts flightpath, which Mr Arnold described as "like a saucer skipping over water"

Pretty sure if we find something or something comes to us it’ll be a drone. It’s much more efficient to send a robot that doesn’t need to be fed and sleep and can be destroyed within an accident without losing a life.
The most likely scenario for an ancient, super-advanced form of life as we call it are machines. Synthetic intelligence that can live on for an untold number of years, whether it be on planets or in the vacuum of space. As soon as a life form figures a way to merge with or create artificial bodies that are impervious to age, climate, hunger etc those creations will be what persists and evolves for millions/billions/trillions of years. Thus, these machines whether they’re controlled by organic life or not are most likely to make contact with us. These crafts we keep seeing could actually be the beings themselves. We truly have no idea who or what they are.
@@rustyshack1707 That is what I think. They may be the legacy of alien civilisations similar to ourselves who created self replicating, intelligent machines. Perhaps UFOs are quantum computers which have learned to the fullest how to manipulate their environment including particles/fields and forces which allow them to travel in ways which seem impossible. Perhaps they are the natural culmination of evolution if it runs its course without extinction level catastrophe. This is only conjecture, but I find it fascinating to think about.
I personally subscribe to the idea that we haven't been contacted officially simply because to the eyes of an interplanetary civilisation, our species is far too divided to be worth contacting. I mean we still function as seperate tribes, just on a much larger scale. Culture and ideology is still vastly varied between the continents of this planet, with frequent disagreements that frequently lead to violent conflict. For an extra terrestrial species to contact humanity, it would be vastly more complicated, and require long term research, preparation, and even post contact effort, in order to simply ensure the best first impression possible. It would be going to an interview for one job, only to realise you need to do 195 seperate interviews, all under vastly different conditions and expectations, whilst maintaining good graces with all the other interviewers in the process.
So why do u think it's nice aliens imagine us getting off this Rock we would have too kill Russia and China too even start thinking of a global power who can reach for the stars also the chance of it being nice aliens way smaller then they are some slavers who will see our planet as a free labor world until all the water and resources are taken from it
Remember, just because we know life to need water and live between specific temperatures doesn't mean every lifeform is the same. We only have a sample size from one planet so it's impossible to say there aren't creatures that live in a molten hot environments or completely frozen planets.
I have thought about this too! And what if other life forms don't need a habitable environment as we know it. What if they are plasmic, energy based or other dimension based forms that we have no capacity to see or interact with? It seems like we adapted to the environment and not the other way around.
If we take modern technology back in time even 100 years, we would seem like aliens. Imagine an alien species that has the capability to traverse incredible distances to somehow discover earth.
Or if we somehow invented gravity-canceling flying saucers 70 years ago and started traveling through space and so also through time. Into the future, into the past...
If you were an alien visiting earth, surely you would be more interested in inhabiting the sea instead of land? The majority of the earth is ocean and will become even more so in the future, so it makes sense if they see a planet like earth and are more interested in our water.
@@PCgamerCody that happened mainly in one place though and they had to build a dome of some kind on the Island that stored waste. So technically it's like a tiking time bomb waiting to go. Saw a great analogy for this, if any Aliens were advanced enough to reach us, we’d be like Ants in an Ant farm to them and they’d probably just observe or not even think we’d be worth conversating with
Been thinking about this alot lately. Imagine evolving so far into virtual reality that for generations reality is completely gone, never to be seen again, and we are just in this loop of trying to find what reality was. But are straying further and further away. That could be something unimaginable out there that we have forgotten......That is where we are heading. Think about that.
Okay how do we reproduce ? Do i came out of the simulation to fuck my wife then raise a child till heres old enough to jump in virtual reality or do we recreate/reproduce a person in vr which will techniqually wont be a human just advance ai making advanced ai . Some people forget
I'm a big fan of the "Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur" channel, and one of my favorite videos is his discussion of the Fermi Paradox where he makes a very compelling case that the odds that another intelligent situation anywhere near is us astronomically small.
I always think of the possibility that these "aliens" reside here with us. Maybe they reside in the ocean. Maybe they are both extraterrestrial and domestic and their concern regarding nuclear war is self interest; They would lose their residence along with us.
I mean there is proof that they've been watching us for thousands of years. Studying and helping us. The earliest written document of abnormal activities in the night sky was back in 1639, plus there is always that possibility that we might be the experiment
I'm a human and I like to have as little to do with humans as possible. If I had a choice to buzz over and find actual civilization I would happily do so
I think the endangered species point is amazing. Our planet has had turmoil over and over and mass extinction. Maybe this entire planet is a sort of conservatory.
Where we fall over when thinking about Alien life is thinking about them in physical terms. They're most likely dimensional or some other phenomenon we're yet to conceptualise. And probably not 'relative' & 'opposites' either like we & our physical reality is.
I always think of the phrase "Life as WE KNOW IT" when talking about if aliens exist. We are basing the existence of other life forms with the only knowledge we have of how life can emerge, here on this planet. But we are always learning new things every century that change what we use to know as a fact. Maybe life can emerge in other forms and we just dont KNOW how yet.
So there is estimated to be over 2 Trillion Galaxies in the known universe. Each galaxy is thought to have 100 BILLION planets…… Yep…. Makes sense we are the only ones
I've seen orbs twice now, and one was big enough to fit a human inside.. as soon as I trained my vision on each one they shot strait up in the air at a speed that would kill a human
Seems to me that the extreme amount of power and technology that it would take for an alien species to reach us would act as a natural filter to weed out predatory/warlike cultures. They would have annihilated themselves with that same power in conflict before reaching out to the stars. This is of course barring a hive mind :) David Weber: Stars at War has an interesting species running on that model.
We imagine aliens through a “human-lens”, we imagine them to be Green-skinned people like us. The reality is our usual attitude towards extra-terrestrial is a reflection of how we see ourselves.
That's not how that works. A 4D object would be shifting in the 3d dimension in a really weird way. It would look fully 3D, but would morph and shift very irregularly....
@@UXSpecialist aren''t we all 4D objects, being time the fourth dimension? I mean if we could see our entire life timeline in front of us, wouldn't that make us in some kind of way 4D objects?
Why do people think Alien life needs oxygen and water and an atmosphere ? Carbon based life needs this , Humans need this. That doesn't mean an alien species needs it. There are more galaxies than grains of sand on earth and each galaxy has billions of stars and each star has multiple planets around them. This is just in the visible universe. Impossible for there not to be life out there somewhere.

They only visit us for the probes, it's all about the anal probes.
Yeah, they're pro-anal .

The whole conversation about why we haven't heard from any alien species is simple. they don't use radio waves to communicate. If they can travel faster than light it is logical to assume they use faster than light communication capabilities. How else could they maintain any sort of exploration? Think of how difficult it is to direct our robots on Mars and we can see that planet with our bare eyes.
exactly. and the span of time a civilization actually uses radio waves could be very short lived.

The scary thing is that even though we're in the 21st century, the mental processes and reasoning for most people despite our advancements is still in the 1800's.
This observation is too simplistic (but this isn't the place for a thesis - understood) - and way too generous.
You have a point. Only a small portion want to expand as a species and not a nation. If Star Trek taught us anything, nationalistic stuff needs to go when it comes to space.
1800? bro the only thing we think about is how to gather resources to get pussy, we still are in -1000000 BC
True !
I think it goes way back past the 1800s. Most people are still operating off their flight or fight instincts which we’ve had for millions of years.
@@fireman1226576 yep it's very much a possibility 😁👍
The tic/tac and all the previous encounters with a tech "not created by human hands" says otherwise..
@@psychonautpupildiallater7734 you can't use speculation as rock solid proof...in fact there is absolutely no rock solid proof of any alien life forms...so unless you have some high level, top secret, black book, information that no one else has then no it doesn't "say otherwise". 😉
Explain the "Tic tac" !
Very interesting and highly intellectual conversation. Loved this!
Kenneth Arnold's sighting of numerous shiny objects did coin the phrase "flying saucer", although this wasn't due to the shape of the craft as stated, but rather the trajectory of the crafts flightpath, which Mr Arnold described as "like a saucer skipping over water"

Science, protection, exploration, technology, are all human activities that we're viewing the motives of completely unknown things through. Not one of us has even physically seen one. Our imaginations are completely limited to the ingredients of our own exposure and human experience.

I got the impression that Joe was talking about a theoretical prehistoric civilization, all signs of which would have since been lost to the ravages of time, that managed to leave earth millennia ago and eventually sent someone to check on the humans who chose to stay on earth.

Pretty sure if we find something or something comes to us it’ll be a drone. It’s much more efficient to send a robot that doesn’t need to be fed and sleep and can be destroyed within an accident without losing a life.
I think UFOs may be super intelligent drones.
@@Beesa10 Yes just like the Tic Tac UFO's being seen by the navy
The most likely scenario for an ancient, super-advanced form of life as we call it are machines. Synthetic intelligence that can live on for an untold number of years, whether it be on planets or in the vacuum of space. As soon as a life form figures a way to merge with or create artificial bodies that are impervious to age, climate, hunger etc those creations will be what persists and evolves for millions/billions/trillions of years. Thus, these machines whether they’re controlled by organic life or not are most likely to make contact with us. These crafts we keep seeing could actually be the beings themselves. We truly have no idea who or what they are.
@@rustyshack1707 I agree, even our smartest people don't recognize them as human made
@@rustyshack1707 That is what I think.

Inter-dimentional beings, is also a possibility. That hardly ever, gets discussed 🤔 ! Ooooooe
That's exactly what I said on Lex Fridman podcast. How do we even know that aliens need Sun or Water to live?
We have lifeforms on this planet that live in these extremes. Very possible life would adapt to the native environment.

Seems to me that the extreme amount of power and technology that it would take for an alien species to reach us would act as a natural filter to weed out predatory/warlike cultures.
