    Love your runthroughs! You're solely responsible for my growing collection of games, I really enjoy being able to watch them played by a person, who will make mistakes like myself, before I buy it.
    Also made my friend watch your runthroughs, that's all she's doing now, planning what game to buy next.
    Just wanted to throw that out there.
    Oh, and I do believe that the dog on Jen's fav. house isn't a greyhound but rather an irish wolfdog. :)

    Rahdo, at 26:11 you lay Jen's Apprentice Hall til. I noticed that the road of her Home tile is not connected with a road on the Apprentice Hall tile. Is that allowed? The rulebook seems to stipulate that this is forbidden...

      +rahdo I have been playing this on BGA over the past few days. I cannot believe you two Carebears would enjoy this at all. It can be absolutely, diabolically nasty! You can be blocked all the time, and when you are one step behind your opponent you are done for! Love the game...but I wouldn't have thought you cuddlies would enjoy it!

    Hi radho. I just got my copy of keyflower. I just have a question about transporting of goods. Ex. If the number in my transport is 3. Does it mean i could transport upto 3 goods for a total of 3 moves. Like i could transport 1 goods for 2 space and 2 goods for 1 space. And could i do the transport even if the tile where the goods would come from is like 5 tiles away. Thanks in advance.

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  9 лет назад

      Richard Guidote if you've got 3 moves, that means you can make a total of 3 moves of goods. so you could move one good 3 spaces, or three goods 1 space. or one good 2 spaces and another good 1 space. you can pick any goods anywhere in your village to move :)

    • @richardguidote8490
      @richardguidote8490 9 лет назад

      ***** hi. Sorry if im having a hard time getting this. But ive read a couple of forums related to this topic. There was one who said that you could move any number of resources (ex. 10 different resources in one tile) for 3 spaces. (assuming that the caravan has the number three). After reading the forum i went back and read the manual. It says and it was underlined even "number of resources". So the number that appears on the caravan should indicate the maximum number of resource but not the movement. Or im just getting this all wrong?

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  9 лет назад

      Richard Guidote here's an example from the rules on pg6: "For example if the transport capacity is two, then two resources can be moved along one road to an adjacent tile(s), or one resource can be moved two tiles." :)

    • @richardguidote8490
      @richardguidote8490 9 лет назад

      ***** yup. Thats the example given in the rulebook. But this i think is where the confusion starts. Well for some people like me. Its a two solid examples on how to move and deliver goods. But the example is not enough to cover all the bases of what could and couldnt be done. I guess my initial understanding of the rules is spot on. Just got confused after reading so many forum. Anyway, could you just answere this. Could you or couldnt you transfer 5 resources 3 tiles if the number in the caravan is 3?

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  9 лет назад

      Richard Guidote hmm, you've confused me with your question there. when you say resource tiles, you mean the little barrels, right? the tiles (saw/anvil/etc) don't have to be transported at all... they effectively teleport around (the tools are small enough to carry by hand, so you don't need a wagon to transport them)

  • @A1Chakraborty

    In the summer, what happens if you place a worker on a boat that's come out in the centre, instead of bidding on it? Does that give you colour-agnostic or road-ignoring powers? If so, for how long?

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  8 лет назад

      +Angshuman Chakraborty nothing would happen because there's no 'worker activated action' that those tiles produce, so you'd be throwing your workers away basically

  • @Foymaster
    @Foymaster 8 лет назад

    Rahdo, at the end of the game for scoring it states "All other resources, skills and workers can be allocated as required to the other scoring tiles. No transport is required." I am not sure what this means in this context. Does it just mean that whatever resources you have left over you may now assign to a tile/tiles for the purposes of scoring. E.g. decide which meeples you will use for the purposes of scoring the apothecary?

    Does anyone remember Pirates! by Sid Meier from the Eighties? I played it on my C64 and whenever a game ended with the final scoring I wanted it to not end but instead go on with me doing meaningful stuff on all my acres of land. I wonder if Keyflower is like this in that it ends as soon as you have built a nice village and managed to get an efficient engine running.

    Rahdo, you talk about this being one of you and your wife's favorite game. How do you put this game away? How do you fit the houses in the box? Do you break them down each time you play? Thanks for all the great videos!

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  8 лет назад

      +stuart shannon i've got everything in the main box. it'sa bit of a tight squeeze, i nest all the house shields together to take up the least space, then stack the tiles up, and squeeze all the other bits into the cloth draw bag :)

  • @natedogg423
    @natedogg423 5 лет назад

    Also at 21:45 you say that Jen becomes the new start player... This is only half correct. The start player does not change until the start player tile is resolved. If no one has bid on that tile, the start player worker is indeed transferred automatically one player to the left, but not until after the boat tiles have been chosen. Thus, while you are correct that Jen would be the new start player for the next season, you, as the current start player, should have been the first person to choose a boat. See page 7 of your rules, items 5.a.ii-iv

  • @shobhitaggarwal1785
    @shobhitaggarwal1785 7 лет назад

    Rahdo, at 13:38 you show that by putting a worker on the alehouse, you get another worker. However, the rulebook says that you need to put a worker to activate the Alehouse and then give an additional worker to get a worker.

    • @PauloRenato23
      @PauloRenato23 7 лет назад +1

      you are confusing the Alehouse with the Tavern... when you have to discard something to get another thing the iconography on the tile is clear... first they show what you have to discard on the left then an arrow pointing to the right and then on the right it's the icons of what you get... if there are no arrows you just get what's in the tile no need to discard anything else

    After a couple of videos of yours, I got the notion you do not prefer games where players can be mean to each other. This video made me to buy this board game, I was amazed by it, and after one 2-player game - despite the fact that I severely lost (lol) - I still am. Now, this game could be played sooo meanfully, especially in a 2-player game, yet this is in your top10, I do not understand your approach to other games you refer to as mean or cutthroat, and you don't like because of that reason. Not a single problem with that, I just don't get it, that's all. :) Cheers!

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  6 лет назад +2

      we don't consider auctions to be especially mean, because there you're not taking something away from someone, you're competing to get something that you both want :)

    • @arcanethievery
      @arcanethievery 6 лет назад +1

      Thanks for the reply! I think about meanness like blocking a tile in the other's player village with a green meeple right after he or she upgraded it. That's harsh :D

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  6 лет назад +2

      yes indeed. however, KF works for us because it's a game where you can make mean moves, but you don't have to. We have an issue when the dick move is the best move, and we feel like we have to make that move to be competitive. In KF, that move you describe can be a good one, but there are probably equally good things you can do with it elsewhere. And even if you use it aggressively, your opponent has gotten a very useful tool in return (their own green meep)

    • @arcanethievery
      @arcanethievery 6 лет назад +1

      I see, good point! Although (after 1 game which is nowhere enough to state something like this i know) it seems that if you do one or two bad moves the other player or the game punishes you and it becomes painfully hard to come back in the end. Regardless, lovely board game.

    Green workers aren't wild. They're just less common so it's harder for people to bid against them/use the same spaces.

    At 27:55 you say that green workers are wild and can be used with any other color. This is not correct. Green workers are special because they are rarer. They usually are not on the seasonal boats and almost always have to be acquired through special circumstances. This makes them valuable in that since fewer players will have green workers, playing green workers on a tile makes them much more difficult to play on or bid for. boardgamegeek.com/thread/883319/are-green-workiers-wild

    Germans hating French who then hate someone else...etc, etc. WHY?! Why introduce racial hatred?!?!

    • @robertdegroot8302

      You apparently don't know what races are. Germans and French are of the same race, and even if they weren't, communities usually hate each other for historical, cultural or economical reasons. With the Germans and the French that's quite appropriate, considering they've fought many wars with one another over territorial and political disputes.
