WOW,I'm almost Speeches..I had just turned 21years old,I am now 45years old and this still get the hairs on the back of neck standing,I've lived in Collingwood since I was a 9month old baby and i knew nothing else but Collingwood, apart from my daughters birth,1990 was by far the greatest moment of my life. That night was just Awsome, all the Pubs in collingwood had literally run out of beer but that didn't really matter as all the Magpie people were on a natural high. The cars were all at a stand still and you couldn't move, another great joy was seeing the tears,Smiles and just a fantastic delight in people's eyes and the so many thousands of people who flocked to Collingwood along with all the locals, and everyone was also so well behaved that night,it was just a real pure Joy.
I don't care what people say about Collingwood, that day and night i was so proud of the Neighbourhood i had grown up in because we were always battlers but actually thrived on it,And guess what our Local footy club the COLLINGWOOD MAGPIES had just broken a 32 year Drought and finally brang the Premiership Cup back to COLLINGWOOD and we were just SO PROUD.Well they were the good old days when when my Great suburb was not Trendy like it is now,It was rough and tough and footy was like a tribal thing back in those days.If i was to live my life again,i would still choose to be basically born and bred in COLLINGWOOD again,I love Collingwood and not just our Great Club but the Suburb of Collingwood and it Community.i actually miss the cracked side streets, the Back lanes, all the Factory's and all the old locals of of the Neighborhood and of course Victoria park where me and my friends would knock about and help out in the old Scoreboard for the under 19 Games and I even miss selling pies when the Seniors were playing but we wouldn't sell heaps as we'd be glued to the Game.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS,WHEN FOOTY WAS REAL FOOTY!!!

I'm from the United States. I remember watching this game when they used to show Australian Rules Football on cable TV in the United States. It sucks that they don't show the sport anymore in America. I don't know much about the sport but I do know that Collingwood went through 3 decades of heartbreak before winning in 1990. America had a moment like this in 2004 when the Boston Red Sox won their first World Series since 1918. There was always the belief, and folklore, among baseball fans in America that the Red Sox were cursed--the Curse of the Bambino everyone called it. In 2004, the Red Sox had a group of players that a.) did not believe in a curse, and b.) never used the supposed "curse" as an excuse when times got tough. Even during the middle of their playoff run, when things looked hopeless, the Red Sox never started bringing up anything about any curse. I believe that the 1990 Collingwood team was also fulfilled with players of that mindset. The part that hit me in this video was when the announcer goes, "and for all the Collingwood fans that have passed on since 1958, may God be with you all." I remember hearing that, after the red sox won the World Series in October 2004, their fans would go the cemetery and put Red Sox emblems and banners on gravestones of their deceased relatives who never got to see the Red Sox win the World Series. About w week later, a parade was held in downtown Boston for the team. At the parade, people held up pictures of deceased loved ones so they, in a way, could, in a way, experience the moment that they couldn't when they were alive.

AFL has a few curses the biggest one right now is The Curse of The Red Fox when Melbourne a team which had won 6 Premierships in 10 years played in 8 Grand finals in a decade sacked coach Norm Smith at the time Melbourne had won 8 of 11 games , Smith was soon reinstated but the damage was done and Melborune didn't make the finals again until 1986 , having only played in two Grand Finals since both times they lost by a large margin and haven't won an premiership since.

One of the best days of my life ..I remember my girlfriend driving me into Vic Park just after the siren ..and cars being banked up from Ivanhoe ..When we finally got there , the intersection of Johnson and Hoddle street was blocked and about 20 blokes were playing kick to kick - so I jumped out of the car, can of Vic in hand and joined in. The rest of the night's a black and white blur..

Collingwood and October is like a toasted chicken, cheese, and pineapple sandwich, with a little pepper. Collingwood knows what to do come October.
Collingwood and September is like an oyster salad. It could be yummy once again, to the 'bad-batch' champions.
Collingwood, if it wants a September recipe, should go with a toasted chicken, cheese and pineapple sandwich, with a little bit of pepper. Then have a seafood salad in October to test recipes.
November; curry, curry, curry and rice.
