I remember hearing it on the daytime soap "Another World" in the late 80s. It was the first slow song I've ever slow danced to at college. Such memories.💖🤗🎶🎼
It's interesting that you compared her to both Diana Ross and Whitney Houston. Stephanie actually started her career playing Dorothy in the Broadway musical The Wiz, a role that Diana Ross would later portray on the big screen. Her signature song "Home" was also sung by Ross and then later by Whitney Houston in her television performance debut. All three of those artists put a different spin on the song, but IMO it belongs to Stephanie Mills.
Stephanie still sings like that if you catch her in a live show even from a couple of years ago where she went acapella cuz the equipment wasn't working but she still sounds the same another one you can check out is from Vesta Williams also deniece Williams with silly so those are a couple of good songs too
