Like alot of other subs here that love the 300WMs, I really appreciate these tests! Was thinking of selling my 230hybrids for the 250Atips,but think it isnt necessary...Definitely THE BEST TEST on the heavies in a 300WM on YT and google!! Cant wait for the follow-up of this video to hear your opinion. Great video as always. Merry Xmas!
Love the challenge of shooting in the strong winds, makes the dings mean even more.Happy Holidays hope Santa and The New Year bring you and Sam even more great things.🎯👍🍻
Mark says: "One more until I miss...." Sam thinks to herself: "hmmm... how much ammo did you bring? we're gonna be here a long time!" lol!! Love your vids and your shooting capabilities! Great Team as well! Keep on keeping on!! Your friend from Houston, TX
Hi there M & S, absolutely amazing shooting & teamwork by you & Sam, & the consistency you're extracting from those Bergers!!!! Never ceases to amaze me just how far those bullets are travelling, when you show us the drone footage... Merry Christmas from Melbourne...
I'd like to see you do some more .308 content...I know its not the best round "ballistically" but its pretty common and I think a lot of folk would be interested in seeing how to maximise its potential...I'm sure you have a few tips and tricks up your sleeve ;-) PS, Keep up the good work and have a merry xmas and a happy new year.
Other than the wind, that looked like a lot of fun to me, but that's just me, dang good shooting considering the conditions in my book, thx for the vid.
That is some tricky conditions and some cracking shooting. Well done. They are some nice shooting mats there. Look a lot like mine. 😂. Great mats to use I love mine. Merry Christmas to you both mark and Sam. 👍🏼
Great 👍 maybe park the suv so that it blocks some wind from the camera ? Good shooting as always. I have been pulling for those Atips but Berger is hard to beat.
Love the channel so of course I’ve subscribed! I noticed in your comments how you said the wind was causing the vibration in the fixed cameras. Not sure of your set up but if you are using tripods have you looked at tripod sand bags, in particular the models you hang from the centre of your tripod? They make a massive difference and will stabilise your footage. I know how windy it gets in the west! Keep up the great work.
Hello form Olathe ,Colorado. USA. I love watching your guys videos been following you for a bit. Was curious what kind of steel are your targets made of?
Incredible as usual. Crazy wind. I don’t understand how you shoot so consistently with that much wind. How much did your wind holds tend vary between shots here? Thanks for these great videos!
Question: Looking around for answers, I was wondering if it is viable to use 210m primers over 215m primers for my 300 win mag 220 loads. Im using WC 857 (a military H1000 equivalent).
I wish I had an area like you are shooting in. I have been scouting for a place to get out that far. Have not found one yet. What is the exact scope you have on that gun? I like how close you got on the first five shots. Great work! Tell your Wife she is the best!!
I came to the conclusions that every cartridge has a max weight projectile it’s happy place mass x acceleration. The 230s look like it :-) like engine size mark there is no substitute for cubic inches. Boost can only get u so far 😂 . Loved the old VS white Maloo you did miss my SS ;-( I think it would be like horsepower rolling over at a max rev range . There is just a weight projectile that’s at that peek HP for the case ? Or am I crazy ?
Hi Chris, and as always, all in the details, but yes in this case, for this test, looks like the 230's perform just a tad better, but, as said the details, a little more to figure yet, glad you liked, Cheers
Merry Christmas Mark! Thats an amazing shoots! If I'm not mistaken, this rifle has a 9" twist. And for A-tip 250 8.5" is a minimum reqiured. Could less of stabilization influenced that result? BR, Alex
Merry Christmas, Great video as usual. You have been a tremendous help and inspiration for my moving further and further away from the target. I have a 1:10 twist barrel and the online Berger stability Calculator indicates a 230 will be marginally stable. What twist is your rifle and any thoughts on how this plays out. Thanks again for the dedication you both contribute to our hobby.
Hahaha I gota know why you said holy smokes with the 230s, Was it cause of the hold? Or the hits?...... And was the scope base elevated as well?👍👍👏👏👏 and MERRY CHRISTMAS 🎄
You gotta love those 230's. Berger strikes again. Great shooting Mark, Merry Christmas from Canada.
Thanks Donald, Cheers and Merry Christmas
Very interesting indeed. This exact type of testing is probably the stuff I find most interesting! Real field data at ELR. Thanks for the vid!

That's a really good comparison video! I shoot in some stiff winds a lot and this showed some really good consistency in Bergers.
Thanks Matt, glad you liked. Cheers

Just like Montana. Wind never stops blowing out on the prairie. Makes shooting long range a dicey affair.

Awesome shooting Mark I love your 300 win mag lr I have one too and it shoots good groups keep up the videos!

Very little hold, 1/2 moa at most, Cheers
Question: Looking around for answers, I was wondering if it is viable to use 210m primers over 215m primers for my 300 win mag 220 loads. Im using WC 857 (a military H1000 equivalent).
Sure can, magnum primers are just more powerful primers, for harder to ignite powder, not primers for magnum rounds....Cheers
I just bought 8lbs WC857 for my .300 PRC. Any tips for starting out with the stuff? How do your WC857 charge weights and velocities compare to H1000?
I wish I had an area like you are shooting in. I have been scouting for a place to get out that far. Have not found one yet. What is the exact scope you have on that gun? I like how close you got on the first five shots. Great work! Tell your Wife she is the best!!

We used 230's in our 1:10 win mag, this one is 1:9,
Merry Christmas,
Do you think the 230's did better because of the 1/9 twist? Think you might need a faster twist for the heavier bullets?
Will go into all the details in later video, Cheers
I was really expecting more from the A-tip in this rifle and that wind. Looks like the 230 put it in its place. Excellent shooting/spotting as always.
Just a bit too much pressure in the A-Tip loads, 1 grn more than last test, they where more consistent there, glad you liked, Cheers
Shooting at that distance in that kind of wind is crazy hard. Two, whenit is going to warm up there?
42 deg C (103 deg F) today, just cool starts, lol, Cheers
Great test! What twist do you have in your barrel? Alfredo
1:9
may I ask what powder are you using for these heavy bullets?
2225
I just had my buddy load me up some of the 230's. Also what range finder did you use?
As written in the video, SIG kilo 2400, Cheers
@@markandsamafterwork thank you and y'all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

around 2900

Do you think the 300 rum likes the 250 A Tip better than the 300WM likes it?
Will do another video and go through those details after some more testing, Cheers
250 grain a tip 👍👍👍👍

In your experience what would be the heaviest projectile weight i can run in my 300wm with a 1 in 11 twist
Not something I have tested, probably 200, but would have test, or go with what the manufactures recommend, Cheers
