These ELR videos are completely nuts !!!! When I’m up on the mountain I always look at far objects and range(with hunting app) them and compare the distance to target that y’all shoot and it’s truly amazing what y’all 2 do 🤯
Once again you guys do such amazing feats of shooting. Always a fan and inspire me for my own long range shooting. Great work you take what’s possible to a new level!
Wow, that mirage is thick and dense, the main thing is that you got the chance to shoot and evaluate the velocities from 2 different bullets from 2 different big brands. Cheers M&S have G'day.
Howdy Mark, Just a quick question. How much seating depth off the lands are you running on those long 30's to let you run them in the mag? or are you running an extra long action & mag to allow them to have room?
Lol 😂 looked like someone pored water 💦 over the lense the way that target was waving all over the place ? Great shooting mark . And yet again amazing how Sam spots half those shots .. Hawkeye ;-)
I have no real experience with ELR shooting, but I love your videos! I was wondering if you look at your impacts to see if they've started tumbling? Or do you already know given your twist rate and velocity that they'll fly true even when subsonic? Sorry if it's a dumb question lol
If the video was on mirage you couldn't have asked for a better example of what it looks like. Excellent video as with the rest of the videos you have produced.
Mark, have you looked into the 30 Sherman Magnum? I have one and I am exceeding your velocity with a 28” barrel. I run the 245 Berger at 3050fps with 82 grains of N570. It’s a very efficient case design. Great shooting by the way, those were very good groups for the distance!
Thanks Carl, and well no not planning on it, as for case design, really more about a very different powder, not something we have the option of....Cheers
Better.......sounds like that old accuracy chestnut, lol, they all shoot well, the Norma and Rum have more hp/speed than the WM, not sure yet with the Rum v the Norma, Cheers
Great stuff again. Not sure if it's possible but you should take a pik through the scope so average joe can see how tiny those targets actually are when viewed from your perspective. Cheers and thanks.
I've experienced intense mirage similar to what you show in this video but, always thought it was caused by the exposed basalt emitting heat waves in the desert area where I was shooting. Although I know heat wave and mirage are totally different animals, I still think a mixture of the two creates untenable shooting conditions. One time I saw part of what appeared to be a city in a mirage. Have you ever experienced something similar?
@@markandsamafterwork Have you done anymore testing with the Berger 245's v A-tip 250's since this video went out as I have a 300 Lapua Mag just finished with a 32 Inch 1-8 twist with either the 245 or 250's in mind . Bullets seem to becoming harder to obtain here in the UK and would be interested in any further tests you had done .
@@markandsamafterwork thanks a bunch. I never thought id be able to see those velocities with that bullet was thinking of wildcat a 300-338lap improved to push it out around 3100 but I think I’ll stick with a standard Rum chamber and be happy around 3000 and
@@markandsamafterwork I figured just wanted to make sure, my brother is getting ready to re-barrel his RUM and this might help him with the longer bullets.
That was wild! I've never seen mirage in waves like that! And intense too! The target all but blurs out completely!! Really cool video guys!
Thanks Matt, Cheers
Love the side by side test. Absolutely love it.
Thanks Otis, not the best day for it, but gives a good idea, glad you liked, Cheers

Love the sound of those freight trains flying in!
Cheers
Such amazing spotting and shooting! I think we are all inspired from your videos.
Cheers Man, thanks
Even with those crazy conditions, you grouped them very very consistently. Excellent job you two!
Cheers Man, thanks
The ES of the Berger loads is phenomenal!
Cheers Man, thanks

Absolutely love your videos !! Inspiration for me .
Thanks Man, Cheers
Great test, good shooting and even better patience. That mirage.....
Cheers Will, thanks
Love the rum good shooting once again in the conditions to even to be able to see the splash you know what your doing
Cheers
I have been looking forward to seeing you compare these projectiles. Thank you for this.
Cheers Rob, thanks
That is some amazing speeds for those heavies! I'll be happy to get on steel at 1760. Cool to see you using the RUM !
Cheers

Finally, I’ve wanted to see someone try the rum with the new 250’s. Great shooting
Cheers
Awesome shooting under such conditions. Love the side by side comparison. Keep up the great work. Be safe ya'll.
Thanks Shawn, Cheers
Great shooting again. Not many people can do what you do. Great channel. Rgds from arctic circle🇫🇮

Wow! Such consistent loads. Geez your good!!!! Keep em coming cheers.
Cheers Luke, thanks
👍🏻 great video. Thanks for posting.

Great shooting , the mirage was crazy wow

Howdy Mark, Just a quick question. How much seating depth off the lands are you running on those long 30's to let you run them in the mag? or are you running an extra long action & mag to allow them to have room?
I don't use the mag, so set round and throat to suit the case, Cheers
You are some amazing long range shooting
Cheers Man, thanks
Beautiful, that thing hammers 🔨 😍 ..
Cheers
Awesome video, great data. Been waiting for this
Cheers
Good job, keep us posted........

Is the barrel length 30", same as the 300Nm? Velocities are pretty close between the cartridges. Nice testing Mark and Sam.
Yes about the same, both just over 30", more testing to come, cheers

Lots of videos on the channel that help with dumb questions, Cheers
Are you still using the rcbs chargemaster ? Or did you upgrade to something like an auto trickled v3? Awesome video as always
Might try the Auto Trickler this year, but still using a tuned ChargeMaster at this stage, Cheers
A ten and thirteen FPS deviation is great. Great barrel.
Cheers Aaron, glad you liked.
Amazing shooting

Nice velocities. Those Berger's were very consistent. What powder thrower are you using? Cheers?
Thanks Mike, just a tuned charge master 1500 for those, Cheers
Great stuff! How many more FPS velocity do you think the 230 A-Tips would run with the same load?
That 245 eol looks mighty good!
We have videos on tests, Cheers
Nice! Crazy mirage...

Amazing 😮

Build video link below, Cheers

Forgot to ask are you going to make and sell that adapter for the wedge? That is really cool
Testing still, but hope to, Cheers
Tough conditions. Interesting to see how the two projectiles compared.
Cheers
You do nice work mate I like to see what you can do with a 7mm rum one day cheers John

Nice work! is that 1/9 twist working on those heavies?
Thanks and what do you recon, lol, Cheers
Doing a great job with those loads! Too bad about the conditions #?*!
Cheers Chris, thanks
@@markandsamafterwork big Texas welcome!
It seemed like the Bergers grouped a bit better for you. Great shooting in those conditions.
Couldn't judge to much in those conditions, really both great for the day, Cheers
Have really been looking forward to the 245 vs 250 testing, excited to see your conclusions after more testing. But those 250s surely shoot flat!
