    Hey, I know this video is 2 years old, but I would like to thank you. Not a lot of you tubers put the ingredients right in the description so it’s easily attainable. You truly care more about your fans then watch time and the algorithm. Hope you’re doing well in these strange and scary times!

    I've been experimenting with adding cardamom to winter spices here and there. Really good complement to cinnamon

    What I love is you can make it for drinks without having that off-flavor so many store brand creamers have, that alcohol kick in them eww for me. And the fact you can add it to anything you want. I have been known to make pumpkin pie oatmeal in the middle of summer. Just such a flavor that I refuse to reserve for only one time of the year.

    So humble! Of course we WILL make your pumpkin spice recipe- just like your taco spice recipe #3 is the best I've ever eaten - approved by the whole family. Why would this case be any different! 😁😎👍

    Never knew mace was originally part of pumpkin spice. So interesting to watch this as a South Asian. We traditionally put nutmeg and mace both in rich savoury meat dishes like kebabs, kormas and biryanis. Will try your recipe with mace.

    I don't know about other people but I find it interesting hearing about the history of food and how/why recipes were first created and how they evolved. I wonder if people would be interested in seeing you guys make a dish exactly how it was first made in the past, and then making the modern version afterwards and comparing/commenting. I think it would make for a funny video seeing you guys read the recipe, gather the weird ingredients, make the weird recipe, and taste test the original version! LOL The series could be like Binging with Babish but with historical recipes instead of cartoon/tv/movie recipes. Title of the videos could be "1500 A.D. Apple Pie Recipe - Recreated and Modernized".

    I really was curious about this. I wanted to make this pie but so many youtubers in the USA used tinned pumpkin with the spice added. No hints were offered as to what the spices were. So not global in their thinking.

    • @GlenAndFriendsCooking

      Thanks @Malcolm! We're Canukleheads, so slightly more global.

      Canukleheads! Been in Canada for 16 years and never heard that one! Will use it from now on. lol

      I don't think that's a USA vs global thing, I think it's a lazy thing. Maybe it's a RUclips thing. My mom made tons of pumpkin pies every fall and there was no such thing as "pumpkin pie spice" in the house, just the individual spices. And every recipe I've ever seen for pumpkin pie had the different spices, rather than just saying "pumpkin pie spice." And although we always used fresh pumpkins, canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling) is a very good product. Don't knock it till you've tried it!

      joanne smith I agree. I live in the U.S. and don’t know anyone who uses pumpkin pie filling, mainly because, you don’t know what spices are in it. I’ll have to look up mace. I used to have some years ago and have totally forgotten about it. For me, the best pumpkin pie has cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves, but that’s given that I haven’t tried mace in so long. Thank you for the recipe, Glen!

    @Glen & Friends Cooking Do you use Cassia or Ceylon Cinnamon?

      Great question. I was wondering the same thing. It seemed like not very much cinnamon compared to other recipes

    Hello I’m here from Uk. I’m wanting to make a mix to create my own pumpkin spice coffee. Not the artificial Starbucks variety. Will this mix work for that. How much would you add to a mug of coffee ?

    • @alexpaww
      @alexpaww 5 лет назад +3

      What I do is to combine this spice mixture with non dairy creamer and blend it very smooth so that it's well mixed. I find that this causes the spices to mix better with the coffee

    Am I the only one confused there is no pumpkin in the recipe? :)

    • @joantrotter3005
      @joantrotter3005 2 года назад +1

      Yes! Well I suppose people that have never eaten or made it might be confused? There's also no apples in apple pie spice! Or taco in taco seasoning 😉. I did read that Starbucks original pumpkin pie spice was just the seasoning, but so many customers expected actual pumpkin, that there is some squash in the latte now.
