I completely agree with you that it is more fun when civs are very different from one another. One of the most fun parts of the game is looking at the Civs abilities and salivating over the POTENTIAL you see and praying that you get a map that lets you realize that potential.
That's why the 4x I like the most at this point is Endless Legend 2. I feel like I might like Age of Wonders 4 as well but it crashes my graphics card ;-;
Really enjoying the modded plays, really freshens up and adds lots of fun; I totally agree with you, it's really nice to find new ways to strategize, know the game better and have fun while at it is great! Cheers on the amazing content!
How to normally counter Scythian troops: Build spearmen. How Ursa counters Scythian troops: Build chariot archers, because what are arrows if now smaller spears?
Since you're looking for mods that really freshen up the game formula, I highly recommend the Project 6T suite of mods by JNR, a whole new Era is added to the game between Classical and Medieval and both the tech tree and civic tree are totally reworked. It also syncs up with JNR's Urban Complexity mods excellently, as well as Steel and Thunder, its been a blast to play
I think you saw that science yield on iron because you get double resource yields on rivers, and that second science yield was not properly hidden, like the base game one.
Love the selection of mods you've been using. Exactly as you said, the different synergies, different combinations is such a breath of fresh air, without changing the basic way the game works.
I also agree on differences in civs. One of my all time favourite games was Portugal on a small continents map where I ended up on my own continent in the centre of the map. I had this beautiful ring of trading cities and a ridiculous pile of gold.
Really enjoying the mods recently and they've got me back into playing. Didn't think I'd still be hoovering up Civ 6 content at this stage but your stuff is just so fun, thanks!
The last few Videos i havent been able to Watch them the Same evening you uploaded them, but then its always a pleasure to be able to binge through 2 or Even 3 parts of the series, its simply lovely!
FYI- 'sui generis' (pronounced swee jenner'iss) is Latin my friend, it means 'of its own kind' No scolding from me, I share because you make me smile when you stumble through things much like I myself would having only read things and not heard them aloud. "Oh no, it's Curtin!" The sneering contempt that came through when you said this cracked me up.
Ursa, you should really give Age of Wonders 4 a try if you havent already. Its like Civ 6 but in a fantasy setting and you can pretty much build and customize your factions to do whatever you want. Plus it has some stupidly insanely OP combinations and powers you can unlock throughout the game and its been getting pretty frequent updates and DLC. I think you'd like it a lot.
Ursa I love all your videos and the current mods you’ve been using. My only suggestion would be to bring back one of the pantheon mods you’ve used in the past. Seems a shame we see all these very unique civ builds all with lady of the reeds and marshes just cause it’s one of the best base game pantheons.
Yeah, I like mods like these. Also would like to see mods like changed governors, added city states and city state types, expanded pantheons and religions, additional victory conditions (and the one that requires to reach multiple to win), urban complexity/city lights/wide and tall used more often in various combinations.
I commend your optimism in going for Etemenanki. Out of 100 moments Deity AI built the wonder couple of turns before me, 95 involved Etemenanki ;) AI seems hell-bent on it for obvious reasons.
What about a brand NEW A/Z challenge, with ALL leaders (or just civ) with this mod of new unique improvements and unity? (Yeah, a new year of contents, waiting for civ 7, Ryan 🤣🤣🤣)
Bastrod's Maldives is a new modded civ that I just tried out that might be right up your alley! Preserves effect water tiles! A temple replacement that gives culture ... Was lots of fun!
Well, this is a tasty early game war. Scythia is quite the bulky speed bump for Ursa. Should be smooth sailing if he can cut them down. Okay, I think I've mixed enough metaphors. I'm off to word jail.
Even though i can't play the mods (console) I think that they add a great layer to the game, and I like the idea of civs like Egypt being not busted but very strong on floodplains. If every civ is "OP" then it really means none of them are and that's fine by me. I like nice synergy with civs (Egypt Should be super strong in ancient/classical eras imo) and if it adds more to historical context as well then that's all the better.
Seeing as my own civ 6 is running the whole JNR suite with steel and thunder, civ expanded, wide&tall and (somehow) many others. I'd love to see more modded civ 6! And yes, I also have no idea how I've evaded the asset limit.
When you revealed iron, that tile that already had science on it got a second science put on it, though the UI for it does look kind of weird. I woner if that's just a visual bug.
“sui generis”: lit. Latin for “of its own kind”. Modern meaning of “unique, peculiar” stemmed from this. Definitely didn’t look this up on Oxf*rd Dictionary XD
If I didn’t have another project I would probably make a mod that makes adjacency and effects more complicated. Like it always bothered me that different districts didn’t have interesting interactions. It bothers me that neighbors don’t give bonus culture and faith when next to natural wonders (3 tile range). Or that population near holy sites. Convert faster(or not?)
I kinda wish you were using p0kiehl's Better Pantheons to have even better floodplains (not just desert flood plains). This mod just makes pantheons better and it has support for Religion Expanded. It also makes the AI more likely to pick the specific resource pantheons (it's more in-depth on the mod page and I don't want to just copy and paste the page) , also removes the era restrictions for Monument to the Gods and God of the Forge and other general buffs to most pantheons, except for Religious Settlements that switches it's free civilian unit with Fertility Rites and makes Fertility Rites better then Religious Settlements is unmodded. Since I think 10% City growth rate is better then 15% faster City borders expansion, and a free settler is obviously better then a free builder. Also, I'm surprised that you hadn't used Sui Generis before; I'd recommend using Sui Generis, Second Unique Infrastructure, Steel and Thunder: Unique Units and Civilizations Expanded together, It's a lot of fun. But I'd wait for Civilizations Expanded to be updated since it's still missing half of the leader pass. The edit was just one typo and this
@UrsaRyan understood. Ill get a game going tonight. Thanks for everything you do. I'm a very much entertained bear. While i got your attention, did you know there is a fire nation civ mod?
@@UrsaRyan Hm could have sworn the desert floodplains tile went from 1 prod to 2 with the pantheon. Either way, fun game so far! edit: Ah the mod wasnt giving plus 1 prod to floodplains, just gold and faith. Huzzah!

I’ve been enjoying City Lights. It really changes up the game and city planning a lot.
@@daracaex yeah that's a fun one, though I've yet to get a game all the way to the end lol
Just when I thought Cleo couldnt get any better
This was entirely amazing to play I must confess!
I think you saw that science yield on iron because you get double resource yields on rivers, and that second science yield was not properly hidden, like the base game one.
Aaaaahhhh it cannot end now!!! Nooo!! I was so into this game! :D Can't wait to see the results tomorrow
cliffhanger!
Love the selection of mods you've been using. Exactly as you said, the different synergies, different combinations is such a breath of fresh air, without changing the basic way the game works.
Best part about Sui Generis is that it supports TONS of modded civs - I think 1/3 of the regional groups aren’t even used by base game civs
I saw the changelog, MASSIVE!
love that game with earlt beautiful yields, difficult early wat but you left us on cliff hanging situation
hehe
I also agree on differences in civs. One of my all time favourite games was Portugal on a small continents map where I ended up on my own continent in the centre of the map. I had this beautiful ring of trading cities and a ridiculous pile of gold.
that sounds legit fun
The modded play is amazing! I'm pretty sure the mods you're using would melt my laptop, so I'm really enjoying watching them in action 😁

I really love the way your games are played lately. The mods are very refreshing and I have also adopted most of them into my gameplays.
I'm really pleased you enjoyed!
That was an inspiring chariot rush. Over a desert too. It's almost pornographic.
yes. big fan of playing with mods. I enjoy getting to see what mods I should try next time.
Love "new" Cleo, one of my favorite civs! Looking forward to seeing the rest of this game!
Totally agree with you opening but I'm amused that Thebes is literally on your exact starting position
Ooh, I love Cleo, she was my first and I cheesed the hell out of my friends with great bath and Soothsayers+Voidsingers on her, very very fun
