Here’s my issue. I have 500Mb internet, 2023 i9 gaming Alienware and this game crashes 2-3 times per session. This single penalty switch is about to put me in orange in 2 sessions since the patch. It’s effectively locking me out-and once I’m used to not playing I’m not coming back. So they may have just made SF6 some money. I can stomach the shurikan stand nerf, considering it indirectly buffs all jutsu that hit down opponents. Now, composition matters and it costs resources.
I'm sorry to hear about the game crashing. It happened to me a few times but it happened many more times to Tagordi than me so far but I'm sure I'll be it's next target. I'm looking into other games as well mainly any game with great online and stable online connection with good roll back net code. I will keep playing Connections a bit longer but aside from playing some fun 2 vs 2 I'm getting really bored especially with 3 man teams. It's unfortunate but every update and patch they break the game somehow not sure why that is. But SF6 seems like it could be fun at this point going to go play some Over watch right now. I game locking you out is pure madness... I always tell Tagordi this game literally doesn't want you to play it. At least the game knows what it wants time for us to figure out what we want because this is not except able nor should we tolerate it.

I really like the universal shuriken restand removal, now you have to take into account and have more character knowledge, "Does my team have someone that can restand? Does their team have someone like that or will I be safe on the ground?" More uniqueness is always good and this is a case of where less is more! Only thing I am waiting is a Kaguya Ice dimension nerf and it would be almost perfect.
A Kagyua ice dimension nerf and grab nerf would be good since her grab does a lot of damage so does her first hit on the ice dimension. Maybe half that first hit and it should be fair. The universal shriken re stand was good but it was too much change for most players.
I dont mind that the re-stands are out of the game we just gotta find different avenues to approach the game for example Boro's long range jutsu can re-stand enemies but the timing has to be on point to do so
Storm 4 had resets and they were more risky, and they can still be done here,so now people would explore those options for resetting, am very happy that it's gone
The problem brother is that there aren’t many avenues in this game to begin with.. they keep stripping content and the game is becoming more and more vanilla. This will make every fight feel the same, no matter what characters are playing.
@@itsnimbi that's not true, they is a mountain of options in this game, in fact they is probably too much, each support have 2 justu, that occasionally do very different things characters have 2 jutsus, grabs, items that are on a cool down dashes and stuff, not to mention they is so much resources to keep your eyes on subs, items, life chakra, support gauges, storm gauge, both for yourself and your opponent and every things hurts so taking away kunai restand gives people a down time, it takes away garbage resets so yeah it's definitely a good change
I’m not complaining about the restand removal, now you see more teams rather than just the meta. Theirs a lot of cheese and cheap things with it and a lot of skilled things you can do with it but in terms of balancing it had to go and that’s okay. I personally never really used the mechanic I personally didn’t need it and my play style didn’t benefit from it so I can’t feel as connected to it as yall unfortunately. I agree that the netcode needs to be better but glad that the kunai restand was removed. Because you have characters like the last Naruto that can restand and you can’t counter or do anything when you pop up. Plus at higher levels it’s never restand into combo, it was restand into Ashura, Karin, temari support which you can’t do anything about.
I’ve actually been enjoying Kawaki (Karma Progression) and the new system where you can decline matches before you join them. I only wish you could see the player’s card.
Im from the caribbean back & forth in the us & even when im in the us my connection feels like im in the Caribbean, and i wouldve changed my steam regions etc so for my part ill say they need to fix the netcoding in this game along with the subs problem
Yeah since the updated most yellow connections feel like red bars and blue bars are choppy. I’m hardwired and my internet is stable so ik nothing changed on my end.
the substitution spam spam is soo annoying that i can never play ranked. the meta just shows god awful the game mechanics are. i cant believe people play this crap competitively.
I dont get how you take all your opponents subs and they just stand because in connections standing InFuSeS ChAkRa. So im loosing to someone blocking with meta assist meta leader and throwing refillable ninja items
honestly the problem is that now kid just want hop on the game and get good but it’s not working like that the shuriken re stand was something to “master”and i’m really sad that cc2 nerfing good players but it’s a 50/50 cause explosive tag when knocked down don’t work anymore it was honestly cancer so i don’t know
Yeah they want instant gratification and they want to win and be the best when they don't understand what that is. The Kunai re stand was something to master but now it is deleted from the game with out any thought to balancing it. Great point thank you 🙏
It's happening to a lot of people. It's not fair to put in a leaving penalty when the game forces you to leave and when the online stability is really poor and laggy.
@DontLoseToFear I totally agree. Also, I only have 13,000 BP, so an average player like me losing BP over time isn't a big deal, but it can really hurt if I was trying to move up in rank.
I tend not to comment on RUclips videos, but I have also been having issues with this current update as with past updates. My game tends to crash at random (most times when i'm about to win a game), leading to no bp gain. This is the least of my concerns regarding the crash, it is the fact I get penalised now for crashing. So far I have received 2 warnings, which now I kinda scared to play online at risk of losing BP. The kunai stand update has affect my playstyle a bit, especially when playing PTS Hinata with her down combo followed by PTS Naruto Demon wind bomb to stun lock players. While not an issue for me, it does take away from the originality of Storm Connections. My main issue with this game is definitely counters. Theorically, it seems easy enough to plan around it by baiting players, the problem comes down to inputs being misread or not read at all (such as cancelling a chakra dashing in front or close to the player) when the player activates the counter. A player I was up against spammed counters for about 5 seconds straight in my game when they were out of subs. I have also been up against players who base their whole gamestyle around this mechanic which is an issue when all you can rely on is ninjustu or shurikens, and potential baits. There should be a chakra gauge decrease like the old games or limit the number of counters a player can use within a round or match.
I understand that you (among other players) enjoyed the possibilities that kunai restands granted you but let's face the truth, it wasn't meant to be this way and that's why they took it out. Okizeme exist so the defender can reset the neutral and turn the tables, picking a choice (whether it's rolling back or waking up in place), it was absurd being in constant pressure even after taking a huge chunk of damage because of this "resets", it was fairly unbalanced. On a game where they focused that much on combo routes and offense, I think that it's fine that kunai restands are gone, and if you ask me, they should buff defense so it doesn't break that easily. Connections it's still braindead and they should actually tune some supports jutsus instead of just changing the cooldown imo
I liked the kunai restand because it made the game feel different from storm 4. Everyone complains about the balance but to me, the game felt way more balanced than storm 4 from day 1. I havent played the game since the patch though so maybe when I do ill change my mind.
Finally not everyone is gonna use the bs “meta” teams where they spam poison or grabs with kunai restands. It’s time for everyone to use unique teams and characters they actually like.
95% of the time when I play storm games over the past 13 years I used 2 man teams that are not meta or I use anti meta teams. Unfortunately the game still doesn't work that way where you can use unique teams with characters that you like were not there yet. You would have to completely balance the game and the roster is really big. I wish they would do that and we would get to that place but I don't think they have the time or resources for that.
I am thankful I'm watching streamers and creators because its feeling like I'm not missing anything tbh i guess I'll chill on strive, granblue, and under night in birth 2 waiting for those dope new characters.
I think they should patch the input controls I change my guard and subs to R1 and 2 but when I play it’s on default controls this is my 8th it did it I really hope they patch it it’s getting annoying to change the inputs overtime
Even with otg jutsu it was a combo so the scaling will still be going but with kunai it was mostly resets happening because their stun are low, bad design in my opinion Now the game is less obnoxious and that's good
They made a new storm game and it was unique on release and now they making storm 4 again, but they made it worst! Super Armor Removal, Chackra Regeneration Made slower, Kunai Restand Removed, Chackra shuriken Removed, Tilts which are now jutsus are 90% recicled tilts which did cost no chackra in storm 4 and get u out of a combo (one of many defense options, connections has almost none defence options left)...the list go on and on...I play the release version on PC, i only can play against bots but its so much more fun to play the release version....People just need to adapt! CC2 only listening to new players and nerf every thing in the game if there feelings getting hurt...sorry my english is not that good. EDIT: ah yea something else....i thought again they patched it so i dont get disconnected from the online menu 100 times a day...but they did not...Strangely enough, I didn't have a single problem and wasn't disconnected, but now all of a sudden it keeps happening again 1 day after the DLC release... the same as with the last DLC...
Negative. The release version was trash. Armor jutsu? Get real dawg. They made great steps. And I actually LOVE the update. Only complaint is this…. Blue bars aren’t blue bars. It still be laggy as heck. Other than that I love it
The changes made the game better, being different don't make it good, I don't want this game to be storm 4 I want it to be the best storm connections it can be, and if you ask me the Devs are doing a good job

I think this patch is the only good patch they made.....i mean its not good but a beginning...something they should have done since release...in storm 4 we never had this problem, where we are forced to play red bars and like u said blue bars on connections or yellow bars are sometimes like red bars....there is nothing we should thankfull we had this in previous games and it was much better....we are playing an alpha version of a game

Lag advantage is still in the game even on blue bars it's really sad. Sorry you went through that I had that happen to me last night but I somehow won but it was super stressful when you have to fight the game more than the player. : (
I will be on storm 4 until sparking zero. This games combat system is trash 😂 OTG combos and combo cancels from everything was something that should have never happened.
I feel like they did it to stop abuse with Kamui Kakashi. However, unblockable jutsus should not be a thing. They could have just got rid of unblockable jutsus instead of that.
You make a good point. It's interesting though if you change one thing it effects every other thing so it's hard to pin point what the overall best build of the game would be. Kamui Kakakshi jutu I never really got to use it much at all but I always got it used against me and it always caused me to lose battles or fight the battle for the other person so I understand where you are coming from. I think the 3rd raikage is not as bad since you can get around that a lot easier than Kamui. At the very least Kamui needs a nerf like Hagaromo lightning jutsu but Ashura rasengan also needs nerf and Karin perfume should last half as long as a minium. It like gundam operation 2 and on ps4 it always get disconnected and I get a penalty for 5 days 43 hours.. namco good for doing this .. and I & I have to wait in the lobby for 10 to 10 .. namco games sometime feel like quitting gundam operation 2 doing stuff like this
And the shifty part it block a penalty for a clan and custom and ranked matches & even in disconnected ring doing matches can’t even get it out.. it like namco wtf…
That's a great idea! Especially since Alive Minato is now a low tier character : D One thing they can do is allow the ninja tool kunai bags to restand that way it is linked to a resource that can't be spammed if that is important to people.
Unpopular opinion but hashirama needs to be nerfed. Lost over 15 matches to wood emergence spam until yellow life and if your really a ninja storm player you know what that means. Assist instantly ready no matter how much youve used them and a full chakra bar for asuma and naruto to get all the damage while the leader just runs throwing kunai bags and paper bombs that REFILLLL. Take item refill away!!!!!
Restands made the game dumb simple. Seems like the majority enjoy it off the table. It's not a lack of skill level the game is too easy. Restands made the game easy crazy how people perceptions vary but everyone is their own person. It was a trash mechanic. A kunai should not wake you up 😂 like what was the point in falling on the floor like hello. Mind as well stand up the entire time. Its just a free infinite. Exactly, i does not make any sense that a kunai wakes up a character LOL, it looks dumb and was abusable (it does not matter if he say that is a 50/50 in a fighting game when you are in a knock down state you should be safe until you naturally wake up and start the neutral again) DontloseToFear complains about the removal of the mechanic because he likes it, that´s it, but fortunatelly CC2 remove that dumb mechanic.
@@angeljulioogandomejia1035 I actually didn't like the re stand mechanic for a long time and hated it but once I figured out the ins and outs of the mechanic for the player on offence and the player on defence I started to understand and appreciate the depth of the mechanic. It's a shame it was removed instead of trying to balance it first. A lot of mechanics were removed or nerfed essentially reverting Connections back down to a smooth but boring version of Storm 4.
The counter will cleanse most supports so you would need characters specifically as anti restand jutsu characters. The defender could counter, block, jump, double jump, do a jutsu like Indras amatarasu ect, jump to the side. There were many options that created depth to the game. Certain support Jutsu like Ashura should get nerfed like Temari Gale dance jutsu has gotten nerfed and has less active frames now. The best solution is to specially buff and nerf certain characters and jutsu not to rip out and delete a mechanic that the developers put in the game. They don't believe in their game and they are giving into opinions that they shouldn't be. It's too bad most players didn't get to the deeper level of play and understanding with re stand mechanics before we had to say goodbye to them.
CC2 should watch this. Was there something good with this Patch? What you said about they don't belive in themself by removing some feature they create is really sad because besides that might show that they might not even know that there is a way to get around thith, a 50/50 for every player as you said... I love the removal of kunai restand. They need to remove restand all together. Imo this mechanic lowers the skill. Instead of properly extending or learning air to ground resets or stylish conversions...u can just mash, drop your combo and be rewarded for it by picking up you opponent. Remove spam counters. Way too free Return character mastery by removing universal infinites. It can be different without being worse

Hollow stepping is really easy compared to kunai restand from my experience. The only thing difficult about hollow stepping is if your analog input gets eaten up and it ends up not working because of online lag. Offline it's easy to get it every time. A kunai restand puts a lot of options on the table for both the restander and the defender.
I hear you but it's much more reasonable and better for the game's health if we nerft Ashuras jutsu and balance the re stand mechanic instead of delete it out of the game
@@ismaeldah6512 There are a lot of ways to balance Ashuras rasengan barrage. They nerfed all shinra tenseis across the board and now they are weaker than they should be and are non issues in every case in terms of power and balance. Some characters have Shinra tenseis that are more usable than others. Nagatos was nerfed into the ground in the first patch but it looks like they gave it a few more start up frames which is great. Hagaromos divine thunder lightning jutsu was nerfed so that the radius is not as large and you can sub once and walk out of it. Before you would just keep subbing back into it so Ashuras nerf would be something like what they did for Hagaromo. You would decrease the radius of the explosion and it would waste 1 sub and you could directional sub out of it and if you dashed back into it it would keep exploiting and hit you as it does now as a punish. If you are patient it acts like most other jutsu and you wait and then you punish when the animation is over.
Yes you and 3 other people have said that exact same example... the answer is easy you nerf and balance Ashuras jutsu you don't gut and delete and entire mechanic out of the game. Temaris active frames on her gale dance has been nerfed they could do that for all the other troublesome jutsu. There are a few examples there are restand opportunities right after Minatos grab for instance but then there are restand opportunities after a rasengan many of those restand opportunities are much closer to 50 : 50 The one's right after the grab can be higher but they can also be lower depending on certain factors. I would love for them to nerf Ashuras rasengan exploding projectile no issues from me on that. Everyone keeps bringing that example up when 99% of the time he is never on my team in any capacity.
@@DontLoseToFear to be fair you could also do it with: Hinata ranged jutsu, fuu ranged jutsu, danzo ranged jutsu, naruto bullet jutsu, asuma ranged jutsu and a lot more these are just the ones from the top of my head, the option then would be either rework 20% of the jutsus or just remove 1 mechanic that players have been complaining about

Did the developers intend it this way? Was the game rushed and there are just this many problems with it? Also Shippuden Hinata being my most used character and supprort I can tell you she doesn't belong in this group you've created since her trig rams jutsu has a decreased radius and barely works. It takes a lot to line up that jutsu and get value and if you miss there is a massive waiting time. If you land it there is still a very long waiting time. The air palms are super nerfed and don't track like they used to. Not to mention if you get somewhere between a 6 / 10 , 5 / 10 or 4 / 10 connection where you start to lose about half of your frames the tracking goes no where near the opponent and the palms hit the ground on the side. She was over nerfed and needs a buff similar to shinra tenseis. Looks like the buffed them a bit and made them playable again. In the last patch they took shinra tenseis out of the game by making most of their active frames inactive. I think the best solution is to not take out mechanics but just balance the game. Seems pretty straight forward to me. Shisui is the better example. Shisuis Halo dance triple fire jutsu needs a nerf big time and so does Kagyus first hit in her ice dimension as well as her grab that does insane damage.

@@SergioDeuxx Nerf Ashura Rasengan jutsu gang lets go!!!! Even if they just give it the Hagoromo divine lighting jutsu treatment that would work. Allow a person to sub once and out of it if they go back into it by being aggressive that's their own fault but let them get out of it with 1 sub. They can do 3 of them my friend haha that is the true meta way to play him get a full chakra bar and use 3 in a row. It needs to be a none option though. I always viewed the shuriken/kunai shenanigans as an exploit that players used to get free advantages while conserving chakra and supports glad it's gone. Now please use chakra or supports more creatively on your combos and not just free grab loops.
Every single Naruto Storm game I play the game how it was intended. I find the meta of the game and then I usually play in a skill based way that revolves around anti meta. The way I used Minato was not meta but instead anti meta and now it's gone. The damage on his grab is 2.5X - 2.3X lower than Kagyus grab and many other grabs it has the lowest damage in the game. I have many other teams I can play as that don't depend on grab loops but I embraced grab loops and damage scaling restands because this is how this game was played. You can't really use supports more creatively everything is just jutsu spam now since their are no tilts and no chakra shurikens...
@@DontLoseToFear I just want to see more impressive highlights from this game because watching Storm 4 tournaments was like watching bunch of frogs jumping around while throwing jabs at each other until the time limit expired......not fun to watch.
At this point I'd just reccomend thst people play the previous titles over connections if they have an itch for competitive storm in a official capacity. Pretty sure a group of talented modders could just backport the content from connections to 4 anyway.

You were right to not buy the game. I think your intuition and gut feeling about it being a cash grab was spot on. If anything it was unfinished and they sold us an unfinished game which is enough of a reason to not buy it, not think about it and label it for what it is. Labelling is not always a good thing that is for sure but in this case you ended up being right. There are some things I like about the game but every patch basically made a "new game" so There was Naruto Storm Connections, Naruto Storm Connections 2, Naruto Storm Connections 3 ect. We are on Naruto Storm Connections 3 I think with this patch. So Naruto Storm Connections on release I would rate it a 8/10 right before the first patch since the online had no lag and I finally figured out how to play the game so it was good. Sorry when the game first came out in 2023 I would have rated it a 1/10 but about 4 months later just before the patch I would give it a 7.5/10 to a 8.2/10 Not sure entirely but in that range. Naruto Storm Connections 2 I would rate it a 5.1/10 to a 8.1/10 depending on if the games were laggy or not online Naruto Strom Connections 3 or patch 1.4 so far I would rate at a 5.5/ 10 to a 7.9/10 I know that might be odd but there are different versions of the game and the game is different with certain amounts of lag or frame rate drop.
I agree with the disconnection and stuff that you said but ... The kunai restands? That wasn't good, really, this comes from a guy who abuse this in many ways, those kunai restands creates new stunlocks and can be easily abused, it doesn't take any skill to make a guaranteed setup around that, not 50/50, a 100% safe wakeup combo with a free resource and a bit of knowledge in the game, there's a reason why some grabs do more damage than others, the ones doing less gives you combo after, so it's pretty op that a character that does a lot of damage on its grab can also have a guaranteed combo after thanks to this kunai restand, and that's just an example, in storm 4 you didn't have this, and ppl were doing pretty good wake up pressure forcing the other to stand up blocking, that takes skill, you had to use buffers and know your characters to create that situation, in connections you can do similar things now that we don't have that braindead restand, i think that's the best think that could happen to that game
It was not 100% safe or guaranteed as someone who was performing this at the highest level with Alive Minato I have some unique insight into this and I know very well how it was. Many players I fought who were more skilled did get out of the restands and jutsu jails. There were 2 main restand and damage reset opportunities with Minato one was after his grab which once you knew how to do it would hit more often than not. If it lagged or had lag spikes it would miss more often than hit so theres that. Despite that there was still a chance to miss the damage reset so still not 100%. There were a few things players could do to get out of that like counter support jutsu damage rest characters ect. The other important damage reset situation was after alive Minatos rasengan this was often less than 50% chance that you would get it and the defensive player had more than 50% chance to stop you if they knew what they were doing. In the case of the PTS rock Lee Player at 1:40 he counters me even though he is against or near a wall. Another player earlier in the video the Naruto player had time to counter and then jump over it and then he air dashed into my grab so he escaped it twice then literally ran into the grab on the 3rd move. Storm 4 was way worse than kunai restands since jails are much more oppressive in Storm 4 than in Connecitons. In fact combo jails, jutsu jails and dash jails and any combination of those buffered attacks or mechanics essentially gave your opponent 0% chance to do anything about it so the same thing your arguing for against me is actually against you. There was more counter play and chance for the defender to interact with kunai restand and it was more skill based. In Storm 4 jails and resets were far less skill based and players use option selects with very little chance of missing them. You can pick Storm 2 / Storm 3 Kakashi and jail people to death, same thing with Sage Mode Hashirama, Mecha Naruto, 4th raikage and many others.. it really isn't hard in Storm 4 at all. The real reason why everyone is glad Restands and damage resets via kunai are gone is because they couldn't learn how to master them and the people that did master them in a skilled way destroyed others that couldn't figure out how to do it. But everyone can somehow do jails in Storm 4 but it is somehow more skilled? That is literally the opposite of skill. If everyone can do it than it isn't special and it's not skilled.
So you're saying making a jutsu buffer and then jailing takes less skill than throwing a kunai, you can literally do the same and worse than storm 4 with the Kunai, tell me what a player can do with a kunai restand and a cute asura support throwing 7282732 Rasengans on the floor :V I wanna know, in fact that is a combo, if he subs the only option now is guard and it only take a few hits to break that guard, so tell me, where's the skill? Let's count, he jumped so he pressed X, then R1 and then square, o wow, a 100% safe wake up combo with 3 inputs, but that's not the only reason I hate that restand, looks unintended, at first I thought it was a bug, the way it restands you, like, the character takes the hit like it never was downed u know what i mean? It's the same hitstun animation while standing, but talking about gameplay, as I said earlier it also creates stunlocks, and idk that's bad, for example they changed rock Lee air jutsu, you can't combo after like before, they did that on purpose for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure they didn't knew that with a kunai restand you can stunlock your opponent after rock Lee air jutsu and easily combo after, so what's the point on nerfing him? There are a lot of examples like this one, so kunai restands not only feels unsightly, it can be easily abused and also breaks the game, I think it was a problem that need to be solved from the beginning
@@YoYofua It's not a jutsu buffer it's a buffered jutsu because the input is buffered. And yes a buffered jutsu into a jail has a overall higher success rate and takes less skill than kunai restands since there was less chance to get it and less probability. Also the player has more defensive options with a kunai restand they can counter, guard, jump, double jump, use a support, jump back, jump to the side, use a jutsu themselves like Indras Amaterasu ect. In Storm 4 when you use certain characters you just lock them in and you are doing that by using "option selects" that assure you get the advantage. It's not about "the skill of throwing a kunai" It's when you throw the kunai what options do you and your opponent have. The kunai is there for accessibility and because most characters have a kunai to restand which is how the game has always been designed. "Making a jutsu buffer and then jailing" does not take very much skill to do you might as well be throwing a kunai. It is buffered jutsus, jails and chakra recovery glitch that is unsightly and abused in Storm 4. You should know that I hated the kunai restand for the first 4 months or so of the game and wanted it gone as well. Did you fully master it or were you getting beaten by it? Do you actively play/watch Connections or do you mainly play/watch Storm 4? I wonder where your bias was at.

Take the last Naruto down combo as example, you know that shouldn't happen, don't tell me that adds identity to the game please, stunlocks are bugs that need to be fixed, removing Kunai restand is a good way to eliminate all stunlocks related to it, you think I say all this because I was beaten by it XD, when I'm the one getting sad when ppl weren't doing it to me in situations were could've been done, I'm not the guy who wants to win, I enjoy teaching ppl how to win, don't asume things please.
My last comment on this… and they need to slow minato grab down. That mf too fast and mfs abuse it to death!!!!! Lord if it’s laggy in ANY WAY that grab catches you every. Time. Especially if they have a support that can hold you down in place. Instant
Minato's grab does the least damage in the game! Most grabs do 10 - 14 damage and his does 6 now. Minato has been nerfed into the ground this is a really unreasonable and unfair comment. If any alive Minato player beats you now you should respect it since it takes a lot of skill to get off a win. My friend grabbed someone 20 times in a ranked fight last night and lost... this is how bad his grab is now. Both Edo Mianto and Alive Minato are low tier characters now. It's okay for them to have high skill ceilings there isn't much they can do with it now. When the damage scaling kicks in his grab does 1-3 damage ... It is literally nothing.

@@shaqcarroll3726 The damage on Minatos grab got super nerfed to 6 damage from 13 damage so you have nothing to worry about. Alive Minato is dead and there is nothing in his kit that is abuse able. If someone beats you with Alive minato now then they are just really good at the game. If you combo then do a grab with damage scaling it will do 1 - 3 damage max it does nothing now. Just let him grab you watch your health bar and smile
The patch is great hanzo was nerfed, kunai restand was removed everything is great, your take doesn't make sense because ashrah and minato your main was ridiculous with kunai restand 0 risk 100 reward.... Which is broken, easy and assured....
1:40 I kunai restood then comboed and got countered so it is not 100% reward when there is a risk of being countered than comboed and losing. That is close to a 50% risk 50% reward which means 100% skill 🙏🔥🥷
I don't main ashura I stopped using him many months ago and I would be okay with them nerfing him especially his jutsu. I played Ashura when the game first came out in 2023 but I barely used him in 2024.
CAP! I’m glad it was removed! It’s an exploit. Most players don’t know their options and it’s unfair. Plus like you do, you’ll just throw a support so the one being picked up had to deal with the support while your safe. Stop it… I’d rather take the damage and not be picked up.

I'm good bro I got about 30 other characters I can use and My Minato still gets the job done even though he's been nerfed into the ground. It's just not as fun. I don't care about all that I just care about not having flawless online so if I play a game in the future it has to have roll back net code otherwise it's not worth my time. @@One_illusion.I used to have this mindset back when I was a teenager. Around the time Storm 3 had the Hanzo/Nagato problem. I went to Super SF4 AE and UMVC3 and realized all games no matter how “traditional” they are have skill caps. Zero and Morrigan in UMVC3 are single-handedly more broken than any character in Storm at high level. Virtually unbeatable strategies like unblock able mixups and touch of death combos. Zero’s combos weren’t even particularly hard to do either. Yet that game is still regarded as one of the greatest fighting games of all time. So to get better at Storm 3 I learned from playing those games. The “traditional” fighting games. Unfortunately these current Storm mechanics are too random for my liking lol. I liked having a fast air chakra dash and smooth movement. Made the games pre-Storm Revolution feel Melee-like. High-level non meta Storm 3 matches are a thing of beauty. Sorry for the essay.

First of all That’s not a skill issue by the way I abused it because Ik for sure the ninja Kuni thing is broke 😂 2: storm is NOT a traditional fighting game, no one takes this damn game serious, anyone can pick up storm and play and pull of combos like bruh stop, all the fighting games that actually take skill has real tournaments that’s sponsored, this game does not have that at all because it takes no skill and it’s still in a bad state. 3: the high level players all we do is rinse cycle repeat, use a very annoying assist or broken assist and you will get the dub simple don’t forget the grab.
Here’s my issue. I have 500Mb internet, 2023 i9 gaming Alienware and this game crashes 2-3 times per session. This single penalty switch is about to put me in orange in 2 sessions since the patch.
It’s effectively locking me out-and once I’m used to not playing I’m not coming back. So they may have just made SF6 some money.
I can stomach the shurikan stand nerf, considering it indirectly buffs all jutsu that hit down opponents. Now, composition matters and it costs resources.
I'm sorry to hear about the game crashing. It happened to me a few times but it happened many more times to Tagordi than me so far but I'm sure I'll be it's next target. I'm looking into other games as well mainly any game with great online and stable online connection with good roll back net code.
I will keep playing Connections a bit longer but aside from playing some fun 2 vs 2 I'm getting really bored especially with 3 man teams. It's unfortunate but every update and patch they break the game somehow not sure why that is. But SF6 seems like it could be fun at this point going to go play some Over watch right now.

I really like the universal shuriken restand removal, now you have to take into account and have more character knowledge, "Does my team have someone that can restand? Does their team have someone like that or will I be safe on the ground?" More uniqueness is always good and this is a case of where less is more!
Only thing I am waiting is a Kaguya Ice dimension nerf and it would be almost perfect.
A Kagyua ice dimension nerf and grab nerf would be good since her grab does a lot of damage so does her first hit on the ice dimension. Maybe half that first hit and it should be fair. The universal shriken re stand was good but it was too much change for most players.

Storm 4 had resets and they were more risky, and they can still be done here,so now people would explore those options for resetting, am very happy that it's gone
The problem brother is that there aren’t many avenues in this game to begin with.. they keep stripping content and the game is becoming more and more vanilla. This will make every fight feel the same, no matter what characters are playing.

I’m not complaining about the restand removal, now you see more teams rather than just the meta. Theirs a lot of cheese and cheap things with it and a lot of skilled things you can do with it but in terms of balancing it had to go and that’s okay. I personally never really used the mechanic I personally didn’t need it and my play style didn’t benefit from it so I can’t feel as connected to it as yall unfortunately. I agree that the netcode needs to be better but glad that the kunai restand was removed. Because you have characters like the last Naruto that can restand and you can’t counter or do anything when you pop up. Plus at higher levels it’s never restand into combo, it was restand into Ashura, Karin, temari support which you can’t do anything about.

It's happening to a lot of people. It's not fair to put in a leaving penalty when the game forces you to leave and when the online stability is really poor and laggy.
@DontLoseToFear I totally agree. Also, I only have 13,000 BP, so an average player like me losing BP over time isn't a big deal, but it can really hurt if I was trying to move up in rank.
I tend not to comment on RUclips videos, but I have also been having issues with this current update as with past updates. My game tends to crash at random (most times when i'm about to win a game), leading to no bp gain. This is the least of my concerns regarding the crash, it is the fact I get penalised now for crashing. So far I have received 2 warnings, which now I kinda scared to play online at risk of losing BP.
The kunai stand update has affect my playstyle a bit, especially when playing PTS Hinata with her down combo followed by PTS Naruto Demon wind bomb to stun lock players. While not an issue for me, it does take away from the originality of Storm Connections.
My main issue with this game is definitely counters. Theorically, it seems easy enough to plan around it by baiting players, the problem comes down to inputs being misread or not read at all (such as cancelling a chakra dashing in front or close to the player) when the player activates the counter. A player I was up against spammed counters for about 5 seconds straight in my game when they were out of subs. I have also been up against players who base their whole gamestyle around this mechanic which is an issue when all you can rely on is ninjustu or shurikens, and potential baits. There should be a chakra gauge decrease like the old games or limit the number of counters a player can use within a round or match.
I understand that you (among other players) enjoyed the possibilities that kunai restands granted you but let's face the truth, it wasn't meant to be this way and that's why they took it out.
Okizeme exist so the defender can reset the neutral and turn the tables, picking a choice (whether it's rolling back or waking up in place), it was absurd being in constant pressure even after taking a huge chunk of damage because of this "resets", it was fairly unbalanced.
On a game where they focused that much on combo routes and offense, I think that it's fine that kunai restands are gone, and if you ask me, they should buff defense so it doesn't break that easily.
Connections it's still braindead and they should actually tune some supports jutsus instead of just changing the cooldown imo
I liked the kunai restand because it made the game feel different from storm 4. Everyone complains about the balance but to me, the game felt way more balanced than storm 4 from day 1. I havent played the game since the patch though so maybe when I do ill change my mind.
Finally not everyone is gonna use the bs “meta” teams where they spam poison or grabs with kunai restands. It’s time for everyone to use unique teams and characters they actually like.
95% of the time when I play storm games over the past 13 years I used 2 man teams that are not meta or I use anti meta teams. Unfortunately the game still doesn't work that way where you can use unique teams with characters that you like were not there yet. You would have to completely balance the game and the roster is really big. I wish they would do that and we would get to that place but I don't think they have the time or resources for that.
I am thankful I'm watching streamers and creators because its feeling like I'm not missing anything tbh i guess I'll chill on strive, granblue, and under night in birth 2 waiting for those dope new characters.

The whole game has transitioned to jutsu restands & timing. Ninja tools restands with tags still work after grabs & some jutsus
I played immortalboss i beat him. But that dude is good bro he gave me the tuffest fight all day.
Even with otg jutsu it was a combo so the scaling will still be going but with kunai it was mostly resets happening because their stun are low, bad design in my opinion

They made a new storm game and it was unique on release and now they making storm 4 again, but they made it worst! Super Armor Removal, Chackra Regeneration Made slower, Kunai Restand Removed, Chackra shuriken Removed, Tilts which are now jutsus are 90% recicled tilts which did cost no chackra in storm 4 and get u out of a combo (one of many defense options, connections has almost none defence options left)...the list go on and on...I play the release version on PC, i only can play against bots but its so much more fun to play the release version....People just need to adapt! CC2 only listening to new players and nerf every thing in the game if there feelings getting hurt...sorry my english is not that good. EDIT: ah yea something else....i thought again they patched it so i dont get disconnected from the online menu 100 times a day...but they did not...Strangely enough, I didn't have a single problem and wasn't disconnected, but now all of a sudden it keeps happening again 1 day after the DLC release... the same as with the last DLC...
Negative. The release version was trash. Armor jutsu? Get real dawg. They made great steps. And I actually LOVE the update. Only complaint is this…. Blue bars aren’t blue bars. It still be laggy as heck. Other than that I love it

You make a good point. It's interesting though if you change one thing it effects every other thing so it's hard to pin point what the overall best build of the game would be. Kamui Kakakshi jutu I never really got to use it much at all but I always got it used against me and it always caused me to lose battles or fight the battle for the other person so I understand where you are coming from. I think the 3rd raikage is not as bad since you can get around that a lot easier than Kamui. At the very least Kamui needs a nerf like Hagaromo lightning jutsu but Ashura rasengan also needs nerf and Karin perfume should last half as long as a minium. Unpopular opinion but hashirama needs to be nerfed. Lost over 15 matches to wood emergence spam until yellow life and if your really a ninja storm player you know what that means. Assist instantly ready no matter how much youve used them and a full chakra bar for asuma and naruto to get all the damage while the leader just runs throwing kunai bags and paper bombs that REFILLLL. Take item refill away!!!!!

@@angeljulioogandomejia1035 I actually didn't like the re stand mechanic for a long time and hated it but once I figured out the ins and outs of the mechanic for the player on offence and the player on defence I started to understand and appreciate the depth of the mechanic. It's a shame it was removed instead of trying to balance it first. A lot of mechanics were removed or nerfed essentially reverting Connections back down to a smooth but boring version of Storm 4.
The counter will cleanse most supports so you would need characters specifically as anti restand jutsu characters. The defender could counter, block, jump, double jump, do a jutsu like Indras amatarasu ect, jump to the side. There were many options that created depth to the game. Certain support Jutsu like Ashura should get nerfed like Temari Gale dance jutsu has gotten nerfed and has less active frames now. The best solution is to specially buff and nerf certain characters and jutsu not to rip out and delete a mechanic that the developers put in the game. They don't believe in their game and they are giving into opinions that they shouldn't be. It's too bad most players didn't get to the deeper level of play and understanding with re stand mechanics before we had to say goodbye to them.

I love the removal of kunai restand. They need to remove restand all together. Imo this mechanic lowers the skill. Instead of properly extending or learning air to ground resets or stylish conversions...u can just mash, drop your combo and be rewarded for it by picking up you opponent.

Hollow stepping is really easy compared to kunai restand from my experience. The only thing difficult about hollow stepping is if your analog input gets eaten up and it ends up not working because of online lag. Offline it's easy to get it every time. A kunai restand puts a lot of options on the table for both the restander and the defender.

@@ismaeldah6512 There are a lot of ways to balance Ashuras rasengan barrage. They nerfed all shinra tenseis across the board and now they are weaker than they should be and are non issues in every case in terms of power and balance. Some characters have Shinra tenseis that are more usable than others. Nagatos was nerfed into the ground in the first patch but it looks like they gave it a few more start up frames which is great. Hagaromos divine thunder lightning jutsu was nerfed so that the radius is not as large and you can sub once and walk out of it. Before you would just keep subbing back into it so Ashuras nerf would be something like what they did for Hagaromo. You would decrease the radius of the explosion and it would waste 1 sub and you could directional sub out of it and if you dashed back into it it would keep exploiting and hit you as it does now as a punish. If you are patient it acts like most other jutsu and you wait and then you punish when the animation is over.

Yes you and 3 other people have said that exact same example... the answer is easy you nerf and balance Ashuras jutsu you don't gut and delete and entire mechanic out of the game. Temaris active frames on her gale dance has been nerfed they could do that for all the other troublesome jutsu. There are a few examples there are restand opportunities right after Minatos grab for instance but then there are restand opportunities after a rasengan many of those restand opportunities are much closer to 50 : 50 The one's right after the grab can be higher but they can also be lower depending on certain factors. I would love for them to nerf Ashuras rasengan exploding projectile no issues from me on that. Everyone keeps bringing that example up when 99% of the time he is never on my team in any capacity.
@@DontLoseToFear to be fair you could also do it with: Hinata ranged jutsu, fuu ranged jutsu, danzo ranged jutsu, naruto bullet jutsu, asuma ranged jutsu and a lot more these are just the ones from the top of my head, the option then would be either rework 20% of the jutsus or just remove 1 mechanic that players have been complaining about

Did the developers intend it this way? Was the game rushed and there are just this many problems with it? Also Shippuden Hinata being my most used character and supprort I can tell you she doesn't belong in this group you've created since her trig rams jutsu has a decreased radius and barely works. It takes a lot to line up that jutsu and get value and if you miss there is a massive waiting time. If you land it there is still a very long waiting time. The air palms are super nerfed and don't track like they used to. Not to mention if you get somewhere between a 6 / 10 , 5 / 10 or 4 / 10 connection where you start to lose about half of your frames the tracking goes no where near the opponent and the palms hit the ground on the side. She was over nerfed and needs a buff similar to shinra tenseis. Looks like the buffed them a bit and made them playable again. In the last patch they took shinra tenseis out of the game by making most of their active frames inactive.
I think the best solution is to not take out mechanics but just balance the game. Seems pretty straight forward to me. Shisui is the better example. Shisuis Halo dance triple fire jutsu needs a nerf big time and so does Kagyus first hit in her ice dimension as well as her grab that does insane damage.

@@SergioDeuxx Nerf Ashura Rasengan jutsu gang lets go!!!! Even if they just give it the Hagoromo divine lighting jutsu treatment that would work. Allow a person to sub once and out of it if they go back into it by being aggressive that's their own fault but let them get out of it with 1 sub. They can do 3 of them my friend haha that is the true meta way to play him get a full chakra bar and use 3 in a row. It needs to be a none option though. I always viewed the shuriken/kunai shenanigans as an exploit that players used to get free advantages while conserving chakra and supports glad it's gone.
Now please use chakra or supports more creatively on your combos and not just free grab loops.
Every single Naruto Storm game I play the game how it was intended. I find the meta of the game and then I usually play in a skill based way that revolves around anti meta. The way I used Minato was not meta but instead anti meta and now it's gone. The damage on his grab is 2.5X - 2.3X lower than Kagyus grab and many other grabs it has the lowest damage in the game.
I have many other teams I can play as that don't depend on grab loops but I embraced grab loops and damage scaling restands because this is how this game was played. You can't really use supports more creatively everything is just jutsu spam now since their are no tilts and no chakra shurikens...

At this point I'd just reccomend thst people play the previous titles over connections if they have an itch for competitive storm in a official capacity. Pretty sure a group of talented modders could just backport the content from connections to 4 anyway.

You were right to not buy the game. I think your intuition and gut feeling about it being a cash grab was spot on. If anything it was unfinished and they sold us an unfinished game which is enough of a reason to not buy it, not think about it and label it for what it is. Labelling is not always a good thing that is for sure but in this case you ended up being right. There are some things I like about the game but every patch basically made a "new game" so There was Naruto Storm Connections, Naruto Storm Connections 2, Naruto Storm Connections 3 ect. We are on Naruto Storm Connections 3 I think with this patch. So
Naruto Storm Connections on release I would rate it a 8/10 right before the first patch since the online had no lag and I finally figured out how to play the game so it was good.
Sorry when the game first came out in 2023 I would have rated it a 1/10 but about 4 months later just before the patch I would give it a 7.5/10 to a 8.2/10 Not sure entirely but in that range.
Naruto Storm Connections 2 I would rate it a 5.1/10 to a 8.1/10 depending on if the games were laggy or not online

I know that might be odd but there are different versions of the game and the game is different with certain amounts of lag or frame rate drop.

That wasn't good, really, this comes from a guy who abuse this in many ways, those kunai restands creates new stunlocks and can be easily abused, it doesn't take any skill to make a guaranteed setup around that, not 50/50, a 100% safe wakeup combo with a free resource and a bit of knowledge in the game, there's a reason why some grabs do more damage than others, the ones doing less gives you combo after, so it's pretty op that a character that does a lot of damage on its grab can also have a guaranteed combo after thanks to this kunai restand, and that's just an example, in storm 4 you didn't have this, and ppl were doing pretty good wake up pressure forcing the other to stand up blocking, that takes skill, you had to use buffers and know your characters to create that situation, in connections you can do similar things now that we don't have that braindead restand, i think that's the best think that could happen to that game
It was not 100% safe or guaranteed as someone who was performing this at the highest level with Alive Minato I have some unique insight into this and I know very well how it was. Many players I fought who were more skilled did get out of the restands and jutsu jails. There were 2 main restand and damage reset opportunities with Minato one was after his grab which once you knew how to do it would hit more often than not. If it lagged or had lag spikes it would miss more often than hit so theres that. Despite that there was still a chance to miss the damage reset so still not 100%. There were a few things players could do to get out of that like counter support jutsu damage rest characters ect.
The other important damage reset situation was after alive Minatos rasengan this was often less than 50% chance that you would get it and the defensive player had more than 50% chance to stop you if they knew what they were doing. In the case of the PTS rock Lee Player at 1:40 he counters me even though he is against or near a wall. Another player earlier in the video the Naruto player had time to counter and then jump over it and then he air dashed into my grab so he escaped it twice then literally ran into the grab on the 3rd move.
Storm 4 was way worse than kunai restands since jails are much more oppressive in Storm 4 than in Connecitons. In fact combo jails, jutsu jails and dash jails and any combination of those buffered attacks or mechanics essentially gave your opponent 0% chance to do anything about it so the same thing your arguing for against me is actually against you. There was more counter play and chance for the defender to interact with kunai restand and it was more skill based. In Storm 4 jails and resets were far less skill based and players use option selects with very little chance of missing them. You can pick Storm 2 / Storm 3 Kakashi and jail people to death, same thing with Sage Mode Hashirama, Mecha Naruto, 4th raikage and many others.. it really isn't hard in Storm 4 at all.
The real reason why everyone is glad Restands and damage resets via kunai are gone is because they couldn't learn how to master them and the people that did master them in a skilled way destroyed others that couldn't figure out how to do it. But everyone can somehow do jails in Storm 4 but it is somehow more skilled? That is literally the opposite of skill. If everyone can do it than it isn't special and it's not skilled.
So you're saying making a jutsu buffer and then jailing takes less skill than throwing a kunai, you can literally do the same and worse than storm 4 with the Kunai, tell me what a player can do with a kunai restand and a cute asura support throwing 7282732 Rasengans on the floor :V I wanna know, in fact that is a combo, if he subs the only option now is guard and it only take a few hits to break that guard, so tell me, where's the skill? Let's count, he jumped so he pressed X, then R1 and then square, o wow, a 100% safe wake up combo with 3 inputs, but that's not the only reason I hate that restand, looks unintended, at first I thought it was a bug, the way it restands you, like, the character takes the hit like it never was downed u know what i mean? It's the same hitstun animation while standing, but talking about gameplay, as I said earlier it also creates stunlocks, and idk that's bad, for example they changed rock Lee air jutsu, you can't combo after like before, they did that on purpose for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure they didn't knew that with a kunai restand you can stunlock your opponent after rock Lee air jutsu and easily combo after, so what's the point on nerfing him? @@YoYofua It's not a jutsu buffer it's a buffered jutsu because the input is buffered. And yes a buffered jutsu into a jail has a overall higher success rate and takes less skill than kunai restands since there was less chance to get it and less probability. Also the player has more defensive options with a kunai restand they can counter, guard, jump, double jump, use a support, jump back, jump to the side, use a jutsu themselves like Indras Amaterasu ect. In Storm 4 when you use certain characters you just lock them in and you are doing that by using "option selects" that assure you get the advantage. It's not about "the skill of throwing a kunai" It's when you throw the kunai what options do you and your opponent have. The kunai is there for accessibility and because most characters have a kunai to restand which is how the game has always been designed. "Making a jutsu buffer and then jailing" does not take very much skill to do you might as well be throwing a kunai. It is buffered jutsus, jails and chakra recovery glitch that is unsightly and abused in Storm 4. You should know that I hated the kunai restand for the first 4 months or so of the game and wanted it gone as well. Did you fully master it or were you getting beaten by it? Do you actively play/watch Connections or do you mainly play/watch Storm 4? I wonder where your bias was at.

Minato's grab does the least damage in the game! Most grabs do 10 - 14 damage and his does 6 now. Minato has been nerfed into the ground this is a really unreasonable and unfair comment. If any alive Minato player beats you now you should respect it since it takes a lot of skill to get off a win. My friend grabbed someone 20 times in a ranked fight last night and lost... this is how bad his grab is now. Both Edo Mianto and Alive Minato are low tier characters now. It's okay for them to have high skill ceilings there isn't much they can do with it now. When the damage scaling kicks in his grab does 1-3 damage ... It is literally nothing.

@@shaqcarroll3726 The damage on Minatos grab got super nerfed to 6 damage from 13 damage so you have nothing to worry about. Alive Minato is dead and there is nothing in his kit that is abuse able. If someone beats you with Alive minato now then they are just really good at the game. If you combo then do a grab with damage scaling it will do 1 - 3 damage max it does nothing now. Just let him grab you watch your health bar and smile

The patch is great hanzo was nerfed, kunai restand was removed everything is great, your take doesn't make sense because ashrah and minato your main was ridiculous with kunai restand 0 risk 100 reward.... Which is broken, easy and assured....
1:40 I kunai restood then comboed and got countered so it is not 100% reward when there is a risk of being countered than comboed and losing. That is close to a 50% risk 50% reward which means 100% skill 🙏🔥🥷
I don't main ashura I stopped using him many months ago and I would be okay with them nerfing him especially his jutsu. I played Ashura when the game first came out in 2023 but I barely used him in 2024.

I'm good bro I got about 30 other characters I can use and My Minato still gets the job done even though he's been nerfed into the ground. It's just not as fun. I don't care about all that I just care about not having flawless online so if I play a game in the future it has to have roll back net code otherwise it's not worth my time. @@One_illusion.I used to have this mindset back when I was a teenager. Around the time Storm 3 had the Hanzo/Nagato problem.
I went to Super SF4 AE and UMVC3 and realized all games no matter how “traditional” they are have skill caps. Zero and Morrigan in UMVC3 are single-handedly more broken than any character in Storm at high level. Virtually unbeatable strategies like unblock able mixups and touch of death combos. Zero’s combos weren’t even particularly hard to do either.
Yet that game is still regarded as one of the greatest fighting games of all time. So to get better at Storm 3 I learned from playing those games. The “traditional” fighting games.
Unfortunately these current Storm mechanics are too random for my liking lol. I liked having a fast air chakra dash and smooth movement. Made the games pre-Storm Revolution feel Melee-like. High-level non meta Storm 3 matches are a thing of beauty.

2: storm is NOT a traditional fighting game, no one takes this damn game serious, anyone can pick up storm and play and pull of combos like bruh stop, all the fighting games that actually take skill has real tournaments that’s sponsored, this game does not have that at all because it takes no skill and it’s still in a bad state.
3: the high level players all we do is rinse cycle repeat, use a very annoying assist or broken assist and you will get the dub simple don’t forget the grab.
