Aww thank you so much 🤗 yup Ive been around for awhile here on RUclips. Im actually rearranging a new Carol of the Bells for this Christmas 😉 Hope to have it ready by Thanksgiving . Im recording it on my newer sold body Array ❤️
Awww that’s awesome!!!!! Thanks!!! Hey, after I made those videos back then, I chose to take a break from RUclips to raise my granddaughter (now 12), so my music and channel kinda stopped. BUT I came back in 2017! And I now I have an electric Array Mbira and the sound is so amazing. Be sure to go listen to the newer stuff. 👍🏻 I think you’ll love it too. Here’s a playlist to take you there and thank you so much for searching me up again! I’m tickled to death reading your comment 🤗❤️🤗 ruclips.net/p/PLpMzW6ebmwxAK8TiksYHT1e2M-fFpwGsj
Sitting here mesmerized at how this instrument works but would be throughly confused...most take tons of concentration and coordination!!! Beautiful!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!
Patti, it's so cool you are learning these beautiful songs on the Array mbira. We are proud of you and honored that you are sharing the Array with the world. Much Love and appreciation..... Best regards....Patrick/Array Instruments
Astonishing. I think this should be one of youtubes featured videos. Very unique talent. So much precision and harmony. It kills me to see all the pseudo musicians that pollute tv channels, when real talents like this stay in the shade. I'll email this to everybody I know. This can not stay unnoticed.
I'm honored to play such a beautiful instrument Patrick. thanks! And I won't let you guys down at all. I'm going to take it to the limit! And continue to share it's beautiful sound. takemuchcare! Patti
Thank you pandajack, You website with all the pandas is soooooooo cool! I've had my Array mbira for a whole year now. I go a bit overboard on the practicing. I'd stay on it for 6 hours at a time if I could! It's challenging but worth it. Oh, I've been learning violin for 3years now. THATS HARD! Thanks for stopping by!
Far better than i tought! During the listening i was afraid if you make any mistake, but you really have talent!! It was a pleasure to listen to this beutiful song! Mary Christmas to you and your belovings.
Hehe sorry! The sound quality back then was horrible but it is what it is. Ive been recording those older arrangements on my newer Array the past few years 😉
It took some time for fingers to adjust, just as with other instruments. But it's very well worth it in the end. It's just an amazing instrument with much to give. Keeping it oiled and it's not that bad on the fingers :0) Thanks for stopping by. Patti
DAMN! Kick-ass, man. I heard this thing all the time on the soundtrack for A:TLA, but I never knew its name until now. Very cool stuff. You've got mad skills on this.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed this. Be sure to look up my newer videos on my 5 octave Array. The sound is just beautiful and I think you’d enjoy too. Thank you for stopping by my channel! Take care and peace😊
Thanks! I plan on re-recording Carol of the Bells on my electric Array Mbira too. Gotta have it ready for Christmas 2019👍🏻 Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate it so much 🤗
Thank you so much for your comment. I love this instrument too..if you google Array Mbira, the builders site will come up. I don't think I can put the link in the response here. Takecare!
Thank you so much. I apologize for such a late reply. I just recently was able to log back into my youtube account. It's been weird. But glad I'm able to reply once again.
I just bought one of these and am waiting for it to arrive. I am so pumped! You do wonderful things with the instrument. I just hope I can wrap my head around it okay. Thanks for your posts they are wonderful.
Indeed it is addictive. I am making up etudes for myself and could go on for hours with it all. The most difficult part is when the melody must shift from one hand to the other. With my background in keyboards and guitar this is a bit of a mental challenge. My right hand wants to keep going in a totally involuntary fashion.
@MountainQueen It has two state of the art pick ups installed. It can also be used with a mic but you need a good sound guy that can get it sounding just right. When you are in the right spot, it sounds just perfect alone.
Thank you GardeNoisemaker. I appreciate your input. I hope to meet Bill one day. I LOVE this instrument! I definately DEFINATELY plan on being as accomplished on it as I can possibly be :0) It's almost my one year anniversary to have it!
Thank you very much for you comment. I love that you have enjoyed it. :0) I remember the song kinda like a tap dance. I remember the "combinations" or the "steps" of the tines (the metal pieces). I just love intricate stuff. This instrument is that. And beautiful. I again thank you for listening. Love that you loved it!
sweet sound there!!! one of my favorite pieces too! sounds like a xylaphone (sp?) with a percussive mallet quality added. i guess those are arranged in octaves...i have no idea...it just sounds cool! thanks!!!
Thank you RaptureMe2 The mbira is an African instrument, from well over a 1000 years ago. This Mbira is an "extension" I guess you would say,,,It is an Array Mbira. If you google the name, their site will come up and you can learn all about it, plus about other amazing instruments the Array people produce. Thanks for stopping by :0) Patti
Hi, Yes, I play other instruments. I began piano around 3 and played seriously for many years. Wanted to be concert pianist for the longest time. I also play flute, smaller kalimbas, anything keyboardish,,bells, I recently started a tongue drum and kantele,,and lots of small harps. Someday a steel drum is on my list :0) Oh, I recently bought a ceramnic flute too, just beautiful in tone and gosh I wish I had more hours in my day!I hope to combine lots of these with the array soon! Takecare! Patti
I love the hang and would love to have one someday but I'm talking about authenic steel drums. I've kinda fallen in love with the pankat,,,maybe by Feb I can afford one of those... When it comes to playing this Array, I just pick things out by ear,,,and then go over them often to keep them in my memory bank. The small harps are like the kantele, and lap harps. I just won a beautiful piece on ebay, a 12 string kantele, I just love all sorts of instrument and try to learn new ones every year.
Thanks, You might enjoy visiting my friend Mark H. at the KalimbaMagic shop.Just search kalimbamagic and it should bring up his website. He has a great selection to look at. Peace, Patti
I will work on that. Hopefully soon I can clear up any questions on the Array..I'm just starting to figure out how to upload video to my new Macbook...It's been so frustrating, but I'm getting there. Thanks for asking. takecare. Patti
puppetpatti You are most welcome; thank you for sharing this gift with us. I have only just discovered the instrument and it's already my new favourite. It has a haunting quality which I am really drawn to. You play so well, and I look forward to more of your videos :)
puppetpatti wish I can have your live music show in Malaysia. The way you present is really attractive ( but frankly I am a "music idiot" , self learning yukulili for quite some times but cant play even half song.. lol )
Returning for more! Gosh, this is so pretty! The instrument rather fasinates me as I hadn't seen before. Do you have callisus on your fingertips from playing this? Really lovely music, thank you for sharing! :)
Your music and the fact that you are hearting and replying to comments 13 years later is just amazing. Hope you are doing well!

this is one of the most amazing sounds i found lately. it has a rough quality that amazes me. thank you for posting this.
Astonishing. I think this should be one of youtubes featured videos. Very unique talent. So much precision and harmony. It kills me to see all the pseudo musicians that pollute tv channels, when real talents like this stay in the shade.

Thank you pandajack,
You website with all the pandas is soooooooo cool!
