- Well, this was a rollercoaster lol! Was a little worried I wouldn't have a video for you guys this week! But no matter whether it's a failure or success I will always show you what happens...tbh it makes for a funny video when it goes wrong lol!
As I mention this product is currently unavailable on Amazon right now, but I just searched skull mould and it'll come up when it's back on sale! This was not an ad; I was just curious if the mould would work out better than try to carve a skull out of layers of cake! So, I bought this with my own money and was not sent it! Although I think you can tell by the fact that it ended up being so cursed hahahaha
If there are any other products you want me to try, let me know! I love to try new things and see what happens!
Hope you guys had a fantastic Halloween and I'll see you soon! Thanks again for all the love and support, it really means the world!
I bought a mold like this from Temu. I had a practise run with it and I balled up some foil and placed under the mold to try and sort the warping by supporting it in the oven. It sort of worked ok!
Really great idea's and the cake looked yummy x
It’s in the fridge and makes me laugh every time I open it 😂😂😂
I actually liked the way the cake turned out, it’s very Halloweeny imo!! It’s giving me mummy vibes! And hey, I bet it was delicious!
Me too! It’s super derpy but it was a lot of fun! 😂❤️
Great video. I was just about to buy this mold I don’t think I will now. I would love to see how you bake and shape your other skull cake. So pleased I found you thank you!
It’s perfect for chocolate but needs some kind of support to stop it squishing! If I get a head order (sounds weird 🤣🤣🤣) I’ll definitely film the process (although I’m no expert in carving cakes 😬) xxxx
Thank you so much for your video
Thank you for this
I have the same mold! Have had it for about a month & haven’t tried it yet! I bought it for a piñata cake/chocolate! So glad to see this! I follow you on TikTok & enjoy your content! ❤
It’s perfect for the piñata, I did use a lot of chocolate around the face due to the features! And around the edges to prevent cracking! ❤️
I had same problem with a different silicon mould I thought it was my fault as Iv never used them before someone told me to do what you’ve done with the chocolate then fill it with cake after but Iv not tried it yet xx
@@charliessweetcakes can you tell me how much chocolate you used? Did you paint it on? How did you get it off without cracking? Did you set it in the freezer? If so how long? I just ordered this and never worked with a mold this size before. Help please
@@sheilabotschin8201 honestly I can not remember but I did three layers of chocolate for each side to get it firm! It’s quite a big mold so I probably went through quite a fair bit!
I kept it in the fridge between layers and when I finished it I kept it in there till I knew it was firm!
Definitely concentrate on the edges and make sure they’re nice and thick with chocolate as that’s a really delicate spot for cracking. When removing it do it a spot at a time, tease the edges all the way around before trying to pull it out!
The one thing I wish I’d done was cut the mold so that the two sides weren’t attached! It will honestly make the whole process so much easier! Sorry I couldn’t answer all your questions but I hope this helps and I’m sure it will turn out amazing! ❤️
Looks so good 😊
Thanks honey! Xxxx
You seem like a joy to be with
I actually like the cake too
Good job 👏🏿
Thank you! 😃
Can you tell me how you did the white chocolate skull. I just ordered this from Amazon too. But can't make the chocolate mold thick? It's thin and cracks
I had to do 3 layers of chocolate to get it thick enough that it didn’t crack! Xxx
Is there a way to support the mold to avoid dents?
Honestly I don’t think there is with this type of mould, maybe someone could 3D print something to help keep its shape but would need to be heat proof 🤷🏼♀️
You put way too much batter. I'm surprised it baked all the way
