We are year round homeschoolers but we are planning as well!!! Our history isn’t a family subject apart from our Aussie studies. Our main history is readers!!! Our language arts curriculum is obsessed with homophones!!! I love it!!!
Interesting comparison of 2nd to 3rd Edition of BJU Press English! We are using 3rd edition English 2 right now and we love it! But it was our first year using it. I just don’t know the difference, but I totally see where you’re coming from. 😀
@@thesparrowlilyschoolhouse Haha! We really like it, but we never used the older additions. I like how they’ve made everything in bite sized chunks for writing. I also like the Writing Process checklists to make sure you don’t forget any revising and proofreading things. We spend maybe 10-20 min per lesson. I often leave out the toolkit parts of the lesson from the CD. But I sometimes use the Write it Right pages for extra grammar practice. My daughter loves it and when I asked her if she wanted the same program or try something else for next year, she was adamant that we stick with BJU English. 😀 I’m good with that!
I am definitely in planning mode myself. Especially since I thought I already had half of next years science purchased and we are now moving through them faster than I originally thought and going to be finished with it this year
I can’t speak for others, but our 2/3rd homeschool years were similar to the 2/3rd year of marriage. The newness had worn off, it started exposing everyone’s flaws and struggles. Just know you’re not alone in having trouble getting back into it. I also am in planning mode. So many sales going on, it’s hard not to! We use BjU math and in the new editions they took out the Bible verses 🙈 not sure what BJU is up to these days lol we keep using the older editions. I like them better!
@Kelsey - Teaching Tiny Disciples I have never thought of that. Maybe that is why this year (our 3rd year) seems so much harder relationally!!!😩🥰🥰 Thanks for sharing that!
I am in the planning mode too and this coming year we are completely stepping away from BJU, not due to it being a bad curriculum it just no longer is working for our family. We will use BJU Math parent led for Grade 4 and my 9th grader still wants to do their DLO Science, we will stick with those but everything else is changing (we used the whole grade kits). Coming back from a break is hard. Getting back into routine and figuring what the flow again lol it is such a mystery sometimes.

Jerilyn! You’re just the person I want to talk to! How do you like the new edition? What stands out to you? How long does a lesson take? Thanks!!

The price of curriculum is going up each week…we’ve been watching it so decided to order almost all
I’m noticing the same thing.

You sound like us as we’ve done more science stuff hat expected
I understand that completely! We are moving through math faster than I thought.

Jenna, I’ll be praying for you as you plan.
