      without relegation and promotion, sport means nothing. american sports cant have real emotional investment until your team performing matters. • @pebble312
      @pebble312 10 месяцев назад +6

      @@James-rc6qqNo lmao sport doesn’t mean nothing without relegation, like what? You just clearly involve urself with sports that do, so from your perspective it’s weird and dumb, but from an American’s perspective it isn’t. To many Americans, the idea of relegation would be fucking insane. Tbh i think it sounds pretty cool, but also just so insanely brutal lol. I can’t imagine being a fan of a team only to have it get demoted to the minor leagues, that would be far too much to bear. Like the thought of having to deal with: “Can’t wait for next season where even if we play really well it doesn’t fkin matter bc we are the baby leagues!” is super hardcore, actually soooooo brutal 😂
      But with your point about drafts, it really isn’t as bad as you make it out to be. For example in American Football (my sport of choice) the team with the #1 pick last year was the Panthers, and they picked a guy who was touted as being super good and would supposedly turn the team around. Now in this season, they are 2W-12L (worse than last year at this point), eliminated from playoffs, and are just downright horrid. 95% of the time, the team that sucks enough to get the #1 pick still sucks. It isn’t like you are guaranteed success from getting the #1 pick. In practice it actually works quite well in my opinion.

    • @seanharrison6162
      @seanharrison6162 10 месяцев назад +2

      @James-rc6qq I was agreeing up until the draft part because if you had to just buy a talented young guy and send him through your lower ranks then their would be 3 good teams across every American sport the draft part is a means of equalizing the playing field for the worst and smaller market teams EVENTUALLY which is similar to what relegation does

    As a Handball player, I think Norway made the correct shot. The centre defender was in a good position to block the shot or even tackle, and it's easier to save a shot from 9 meters like that than an open shot from the 6 meter line (even if its from the wing). The French defenders were well coordinated there, so they forced the winger to shoot from a narrow angle.
    They played again in the final, and France won by 3

      Thanks. I'm surprised Jimmy didn't explain that. Even though it's a popular sport, not everyone knows all the obscure soccer rules and terms, and obviously it isn't something that happens often. Heck, there are still things that come up in football and baseball that I never knew even after watching them for 50 years.
