Lots to break down in that match... Some insight into the conversations happening in the stoppage time shenanigans would be great. And as you said, the angst with Watkins goal. I also know here were quite a few conversations happening after the game that were pretty tense. News just came out that Watkins in-goal celebration was directed at a specific fan who was abusing him, hence the douchey nature of it. Would love to know if he was explaining that to his former team mates.

George Santos deserved everything that got to him. He portrayed every worst stereotype out there about us brazilians. I worked across the street from St. Augustine High School this week. I've hated them since I was in highschool myself and it was so fun to watch them lose. They were our rivals back in the day. Now, my relationship with them is being overwhelmed every two weeks with the douchiest teenagers I've ever seen.
Fun fact about St. Augustine, they're an all boys Catholic school, and every year they have a football game against another Catholic school Cathedral Catholic. This game is dubbed the "Holy Bowl"

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous to be that absorbed with a sports team. I used to be more like that when I was a kid, but I grew up. Other things are much more important in life. Sports is the toy department. I can still get into games and get a little frustrated in the moment, but at the end of a game, your real life is there waiting for you.

The centre defender was in a good position to block the shot or even tackle, and it's easier to save a shot from 9 meters like that than an open shot from the 6 meter line (even if its from the wing). The French defenders were well coordinated there, so they forced the winger to shoot from a narrow angle. They played again in the final, and France won by 3
Is there replay review in handball? 27's feet came back down and at least one was was definitely on the yellow as she threw the ball. Ball still in hand + foot in yellow = no goal, right? Not sure if being tackled might affect that call though

Clock stops on first downs in high school I’m pretty sure until the ref gets up there and sets the ball like you see him do in the video
It's like college ball. The clock stops on first downs and starts when the ball gets set.
