    Beautifully done, Kathy! Love the variety of soft and hard edges, lost in the mist in places, emerging clean and sharp in other places. Those slabs below the figure bring to mind head stones in a scraggly, untended grave yard. If anything, I'd say that adds interest to the mist-erious story of the silhouetted violinist. Good call, sticking with a minimal palette. I wonder how it would turn out if you did a similar painting where you drop in a tiny gem of vibrant color, maybe some red on the violin red. I've seen masters, like Alvaro Castagnet, do that sort of thing.
