C202GKR ended up with Cole's Fair in Southampton and was destroyed in a fire, ERF were always one of my favourite makes of truck, i have hundreds of pictures of ERF fair lorries.
Thanks for that and wonder if you know where abouts of a 1950/60s 7-ton ERF restored in the livery of Chas Brand & Sons, Civil Engineering Contractors. She's a flat bed, fitted with a Gardner 5-cylinder engine and a trailer brake on the passenger side. I drove it on S. London to Beachley, Gloucestershire route transporting office accommodation, generators and other equipment for the tunneling of a cable tunnel under the Severn and Wye rivers in the late 60s early 70s. Nearing completion of the project the truck was part exchanged for a Leyland with Watts of Gloucester. Then thank fully restored to her former glory, would love to chat with the new owner.
Carlisle Commercials at Golf Course 1995. A volvo 850 estate to be won. My guest(Kenny Briggs) got within a foot of hole 16. It is short but blind!. Brave Raymond Dixon of Burnholme arrived! His ball , about 3 foot from No 16..."Better measure that!" he demanded. I measured it by hand!..."Where,s yer tape measure you fool?" he demanded. "Aint got one!" I replied....Raymond marched off in a rage to see my boss (Dennis Oliver)!....I knew (of Course) how to measure and I knew that Kenny Briggs had won the car!....LA5 Warton Lancs
