I remember the night this episode aired… I was over at a friend’s house, drinking some beers and thought it was the most hilarious show I’d ever seen… Absolute genius!
Any "best of" compilation of Alex Trebek moments would certainly, to be worthy of the name, include this and the time he walked onto the stage (in a Tournament of Champions) with no pants.
A game show host and a pro wrestler is perfect to cast doubt on someone retelling the story... "Nah man, you fell asleep in front of the TV and had a messed up dream!" 😂
MIB are pretty accurately protrayed here, although many are often described as 'asian' looking or cadaverous, but there are claims they do impersonate others as dopplegangers.
A subtle part, that shows the genius of Darin Morgan (the man who wrote this episode), is how Roky has no reaction when he looks over at the Alex Trebek lookalike MIB at 01:30...because Roky's character is portrayed as lowbrow, and thus has probably never watched an episode of Jeopardy in his life? TV writers used to be so damn brilliant!
I thought he was based in Harlan Ellison, but it was in Truman Capote. Harlan congratulated Darin Morgan for Clyde Bruckman , but Darin didn't know him , then they become friends.
He’s definitely based on Truman Capote. Even his line “non-fiction science fiction” is a parody of how Capote’s book “In Cold Blood” basically invented the true crime novel.
MIB are also confused and somewhat embarrassed when are here, many things are absurd for them but there are three things they enjoy very much: cats, water and strawberry ice creams.
No other object has been mis-identified as a Psy-Op more than Taylor Swift. I wouldn't flaunt your ignorance by telling anyone that you saw anything other than Taylor Swift. Because if you do...
I wish there was an entire show with these Men In Black.
Check out the men in black scene from the movie Alien Code
The real Men in Black are from Uranus !

Just a regular day for Jesse Ventura.
He does that monologue 3 times before morning coffee
I remember the night this episode aired… I was over at a friend’s house, drinking some beers and thought it was the most hilarious show I’d ever seen… Absolute genius!
No beers, but when Mulder squealed, I knew I was in for a treat.
Best X-Files episode ever.
It was such a hard choice, but I’m actually picking X-Cops.
This one or clyde bruckmans final repose. Anything darin morgan wrote
@@robertphillips442
And the one episode about female teacher who performing Satan ritual in a school
Yes I have forced meny people to watch this episode.
Indeed!
This will always be Alex Trebek's Best Cameo Ever
Any "best of" compilation of Alex Trebek moments would certainly, to be worthy of the name, include this and the time he walked onto the stage (in a Tournament of Champions) with no pants.
*grabs script*
"I'm a republican..." Killed me for some reason.
"I didn't spend all those years playing D&D and not learn something about courage."
I needed more of that guy! ❤
He drove all the way back to the Baja in reverse like that
Trebek didn't die, he went back to the MIB.
Fuckn' A he did!
This is one of my fav episodes
The way he said phenomenon !!!!
Brilliant piece of acting by Jesse Ventura. Little did we know that he went off on his own 'truth' quest.
And Alex Trebek, too!
Ventura wasn't acting.
@@mr.pavone9719 that's why I love him.
Jesse Ventura sounded so awesome in this.
lol scully coming in with the ice container still cracks me up after all these years
Right, he absolutely wasn't trying to buy more time or pull one on Mulder. He just has a naturally suspicious way of delivering facts.
Wrestler, Actor, Governor, (Classified),
Best presidential candidate ever!
Amazing casting for this episode.
Apparently Darin Morgan originally wanted Johnny Cash for the Alex Trebek role, but it's a bit on the nose. Trebek is so absurd it's perfect.
A game show host and a pro wrestler is perfect to cast doubt on someone retelling the story... "Nah man, you fell asleep in front of the TV and had a messed up dream!" 😂
It felt to me like he wanted Penn and Teller
I remember when I first saw this....I almost fell over laughing when I saw Alex Trebek...brilliant cameo.
"Yes, I am threatening you, but you really saw Venus." Uh, huh.. Way to convince him it wasn't really Venus.
He gave him the cover story and threatened the alternative, we see this every day in the fake news media
@@TheDayMang Well put.
He's channeling the years of being the heel wrestling announcer where he had to state that whatever bastard thing the bad guy did was respectable.
I ain't see no fuckin venus!
Jesse has admitted since that he didn't understand a single word of dialogue that was coming out of his mouth. He don't have time to read...
The NDA scrambled his brain. He still would have made the best president of our time.
He was probably just saying that for a lark. Jesse "The Body" Ventura is not as dumb as you might take him to be.
Jesse Ventura was great in this episode
I can't thank you enough for posting this clip!!!
The x files lowkey might be the most underrated tv show ever like I swear every person I know from the ages of 45-60 has seen it
this episode is still the craziest tv show episode ever made
I like how Rocky slowly blinks as if falling asleep when the man in black mentions the planet Venus several times, almost like an hypnotic induction.
Not only do I love the Men in Black but I really love the fact that one was Alex trebek ... I guess Jesse Ventura is on too.
Alex is not dead. He's deap at MIB right now.
The Men in Black hire Celebrities so that anyone trying to describe an encounter come off sounding crazy. "Alex Trebek? The gameshow host?"
the MIB are real the reason the men in black films were made to be a comedies was because of how ridiculous I witness accounts all are.
Love the clip and the Cadillac
Looked like the goal was to make it resemble as much as reasonably possible the Batmobile.
You're feeling very sleepy... Very relaxed.
MIB are pretty accurately protrayed here, although many are often described as 'asian' looking or cadaverous, but there are claims they do impersonate others as dopplegangers.
ever listen to john keels MIB lecture ?
@@ocirontariocryptidinvestig8010 I did yes, interesting, but my theory is the CIA is largely responsible for most
This episode sums up the high weirdness of the phenomenon

"Your United States..."
Wait-wait-wait-wait!
I remember there was a well executed backbreaker involved!
roswell! roswell!! *picks him up for a side breaker*
You probably thought you saw something up in the sky Other than Venus.
But I assure you, It. Was. Venus
And we can’t write stuff this brilliant today because…why?
notice how in both visits the 2nd MiB firmly places his hand on Rory and Mulders shoulder
Ok, I was not prepared for Alex Trebek being so intimidating.
A subtle part, that shows the genius of Darin Morgan (the man who wrote this episode), is how Roky has no reaction when he looks over at the Alex Trebek lookalike MIB at 01:30...because Roky's character is portrayed as lowbrow, and thus has probably never watched an episode of Jeopardy in his life? blueanons be like you know this person is intelligent because he watches jeopardy 😂
1:16 well he's right about that. Decades later and we still haven't figured that one out....
I just realized his name, “Roku Crikenson”, is probably in tribute to the musician Roky Erickson.
0:20 Sir, this is a Wendy's
I would recite this entire scene all the time. 😂 ❤
Damn I'd love Anthony Cumia to pull off Ventura doing this
Hell yeah
Some say there are MIB in the Baja.
I'm a Republican!
I'M OFF THE GRID!
HE'S JUST ASKING QUESTIONS BRO!
I believe that Jose Chung was based the sci fi writer Phillip Jose Farmer. Riley resembles Farmer.
Jose Chung. Fantastic name for this episode.
@@marcv2648 Farmer was a Peoria native. I had a friend that lived on the same street as Jose. In Farmers book The Lovers he used his name!

I think that's the guy from _Running Man._ Captain something.
Awesome to see Alex here too.
Captain Freedom. And yeah, it’s Jesse Ventura.

Governor of Minnesota😂
I wish Alex Trebek had done more acting roles.
remember when this episode was considered a satirical comedy?
the best scene is missing with the side breaker... roswell! roswell!!
"I'm a Republican"
LOL Reagan "thought" he saw one too.....
Maybe you could remove venture and trebek from the description? It's a spoiler. They're loving this clip though, THX!!!
No, I said he looked like Alex Trebek…
This was more like real life encounters thanks the Will Smith movies.
I am confused.
Was it Venus that he saw?
I ain't see no venus
Yup, if you know what's good for you
No a ufo
Somehow alex trebek is more threatening than jesse ventura
In a real world that Cadillac would've never fit in that garage!
No

Doesn't he look like Steven Seagal?

Ventura [over acting]...🙄
Alex Trebek.....Bravo!
...the whole point of getting Ventura to play the role was for him to be ridiculously hammy...
Average reddit argument.
if only average reddit arguments were narrated by Jesse Ventura at the peak of his abilities...
