Hi- Love that you are showing Freezer paper- which already has the plastic, shiny wrap!! I have been doing the iron method- w/ my mini cricut iron- I thought that was a blast! _ Ive been using an oven liner- instead of parchment paper- so I could take my iron & go & iron napkins anywhere- With freezer paper- it consolidates- the wrap + cover paper- I will continue to use my oven liner, over my paperwork- it keeps my iron giding nicely over the project.. This was so exciting to learn- TY for showing this method- Love it! & following! happy Friday!! LOVE the box- I love making my own 12x12 cardstock paper.
thank you so much I am going to do this again today to make punched boarders for my napkin journal I will be video it again then doing the boarders so stay tuned for this video.
Maam, I can not express how extremely important this video is for me. I am trying to make cards with napkin to sell for a specific religious Holiday as they are not sold in Hallmarks, Papyrus or anywhere else i hope my handmade cards will sell. I have ordered so many napkins from Etsy and was so worried about the wrinkles from mod podge attachment but THANKS to YOUR detailed, descriptive yet simple video tutorial I have transferred many napkins to the freezer paper without any wrinkles! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Best regards to you.
I just want to say that RUclips is very expensive. Everytime I see someone make something new to me I have to go out and buy stuff. Off to buy some Freezer paper that says Plastic Coating. Thanks for the demonstration Nancy.
Susan Wright years ago I made booklets using napkins. I put plain brown paper (bags/sacks) cut and opened flat on the ironing board, then placed the single layer napkin, then added waxed paper. I added another piece of brown paper and ironed. the best method for me and in expensive.
There's other way to do this. Using cardstock paper, typing paper, glad press' n seal, cheap multiple purpose sealing wrap, even thin plastic bag! I even use the plastic from laundry cleaners. Trim the plastic is close to the paper napkin and your cardstock or typing paper quart inches to half inches wider. I place another typing paper on top of the paper napkin. You will save a lot of money! Oh by the way use an old fabric to iron under the paper. I use to table with a tempered glass or craft glass, I have a Crafter Companion that I ordered from HSN. I sure you can find one at the Dollar stores or Wal Mart in the Kitchen Dept. They came use when use craft inks, paints, glue, and other things! You can use craft silicone mat! Well, I hope I have help any one out there. Just check other videos at You Tube using paper napkin for more information or ideas! Good luck!
Thanks so much for this tutorial! I tried the plastic wrap technique, but couldn't get the napkin to bond. Plus, I don't like the flimsiness of plastic wrap and prefer the stiffer freezer paper. Will definitely give this a try!
If you want it thicker, you can fuse another piece of freezer paper to the back. It works perfectly! I did just that and made a birthday card and an envelope!
Thanks for sharing, Miss Nancy, I haven't done this yet. I have freezer paper for making quilting templates and plenty of napkins so I will be trying it. God Bless.
Your video is such a perfect tutorial for teaching this technique. .thank you so much..it is so much easier than using saran wrap ....of course that's my personal opinion. .thx again for sharing. .
Thank you for sharing this. I think freezer paper would be a little more flexible than computer paper or light weight card stock. I'm going to try it and see.
Thank you so much for sharing this, i hate doing it with the Saran Wrap because like you i get all tied up in it. this will be much easier. off to buy so freezer paper now. lol.
I am a new subscriber from Michigan. Please do you have a tutorial on how to make the box with the napkin paper? I have been making freezer paper napkin paper and love how they come out. but like I said would love to make the box.
they wont wrinkle but mod podge makes things stick I would use like pva glue that dries clear there is better products out there than mod podge hope this helps
Thank you for that and you are so right about the napkin years after years some will come out with a different way to do something thank I will try your I myself use mod pof
Thank you for sharing.💖 Sometimes in Europe our papers parchment, freezer etc don't have the same "quality " it's good to really SEE IT ,now Iam almost sure the freezer paper I bough two days a go it's not going to work😁! That plastic side it's not so evident, well let's try it out....
if your freezer paper won't work you can still do this with plastic wrap the kind you put over left over food to keep it, then just fuse it to copy paper. If you can't get that then you still can do it like I did with making beads with napkins here is the link to that video ruclips.net/video/7z-dsgkFnIY/видео.html I hope this gives you some ideas now if you are going to do the glue method use copy paper so it is light weight like freezer paper would be... happy crafting and let me know how it works for you please...
Wow! Thank you very much to take your time ,to replay and guide me ,I'll check out the link right now and I'll give you the report about my paper adventure 😁, thank you very much!
Excellent Nancy and I would like to know where you found those beautiful dragonfly napkins? They are my very favorite. And I love the little Eiffel Tower one you are working with. Great job and nice video 🤗🤗
Thank you for this video. I also was wondering about using His technique on fabric and how well it would hold up. I would like to use it for cloth book covers and wondering about separation when the adhesive has been applied. 👋
I quilt and have used freezer paper to make applique templates to make cutting the fabric out easier. The freezer paper peels off the fabric very easily. It probably would not have a lot of staying power on fabric. I peel the templates off and reuse them when making quilt blocks. Hope this answers your question. ☺
do you use the freezer paper that has the plastic wrap on one side? Does your fabric stick to that side? I do not know if the adhesive would make it come loose or not. When I adhere the napkin with glue it doesn't come loose. I guess you would have to try a little bit to find out let me know please.
I use Reynolds freezer paper with the adhesive on one side. I iron the paper adhesive side down to the wrong side of the fabric then once I have cut the pieces out I peel the freezer paper off and reuse until the adhesive doesn't work any more. I have used this technique to stabilize fabric to draw on it but it really isn't a long term thing if you are going to be handling it a lot. I think it bonds to the paper because it is thinner and the adhesive absorbs more into the fibers where fabric is denser.
AWESOME!! I learned something new. I wanted to ask if after making this would I be able to use it to modge podge it to a vase? Or would it be too think and not pliable/flexable enough?
yes Maggie you can modpodge over it but remember mod podge will make it sticky so be careful it is amazing how strong the napkin gets after you bond it. hugs have fun making them
Do not use wax paper but baking paper should be the same thing as parchment paper. Actually a piece of computer paper will work, it is just so the plastic coating of the freezer paper won't melt onto your iron. If the computer paper happens to stick to the freezer paper, don't worry, you will be trimming it later anyway!
Years ago I did material, but can'r remember how I fused it ,I think I used wonder unde,r but don't remember, have you done the Material? Think those napkins make real pretty cards ,I have used tissue paper, Christmas wrapping paper, besides napkins they all make pretty cards Thank You , Arlene Bird
do you have plastic wrap? you can do the same on regular paper by putting plastic r wrap in-between and it will bond the napkin the same. be sure to have a paper on top so the plastic won't get on your iron. thanks for watching.
Hi girlfriend. I didn't get to Sassy Stacy's live event. :( Thank you for doing this video. I'm going to give this a go as I've received some amazing and completely beautiful napkins. I hope you and hubby are doing well. Love and Hugs Theresa
Maggie you can still do this watch this video ruclips.net/video/7z-dsgkFnIY/видео.html but use light weight paper like printer paper. Let me know if it works for you
The best way to fuse a napkin, is to use card stock lay a piece of plastic wrap on it then lay your napkin over plastic and cover all with a piece of parchment paper and iron.
yes I understand there are differen't ways to bond napkins but some plastic wrap is hard to handle and this way you don't how to use card stock because you have your freezer paper. So if you think your way is easier then that is fine I wanted to show another way.TFW.
I adhered a napkin to card before successfully, but I tried it again last month and it didn't stick at all!! Are there different types of plastic wrap? Does it matter if it's microwave safe or not (as that means it doesn't melt in heat which is what we want it to do...)
Hi Nancy, I would like to propose you a trade. I have many beautiful napkins made in France, Germany and Italy, but I can't find the freezer paper here in Switzerland. If you are interested I'll be glad to send you photos to choose from. I appreciated your video, thanks.
I would love to have some napkins from over seas.. I can get you a roll of freezer paper and take it off the roll and fold it so it would fit into a envelope so email me your address at nancy1351@icloud.com I will see what I can do for you. It may take a while as my husband just passed away and I am doing alot of grieving over him I never dreamed it would be so hard. TFW
Oh my gosh Nancy I am so sorry to hear about your husband, my prayers are with you. Solange Melange I will gladly do a swap with you, if you would like to pm me on Facebook, I'll happily send some your way in return for a few napkins. Lyn Hudson
Floral Heart, hope you were able to get the coated freezer paper you needed. If you are in need of more please let me know, I would be happy to send you some.
This video stretches out into 10 minutes what could be explained in less than 5! Basic idea is good, but the explanation is tedious and repetitive. Why not add another skill such as how you made the box? Showing a basic template would allow people to use their imagination and sense of creativity to develop the idea further.
She's nothing but a rude troll! I thought the craft and the video was great and I watched the whole thing because I was enjoying it.... Thumbs up all the way here!!
Went to your channel cathy and it said "This channel does not have any content"; which means you have no idea how to video and instruct anyone on anything. It actually takes quite a bit of organization to put together even a five minute video which has value for others to watch. People who make videos and make them look "easy" are quite skilled.
Personally id rather go to the dollar store if i need any tiny boxes or whatever. Seems costly & alot of trouble making em! Ugh. Especially since theres no other use for this "napkkn project".
well you can have your opinion that is fine. However if you did a lot of crafting you would find a lot of uses for this paper. It is really unkind of you to go around trying to tear down others who do crafts I see your channel is nothing so please keep your comments to yourself.
