      I would disagree with this statement. I used to have all previous Xperia models - mark 1 - 3. Camera quality was the weakest point of all of them regardless of time wasted playing with manual settings. Unfortunately photo quality wasn't there. It was just good marketing trick and hype

      @@mainulislamabir6121 if you are gonna get an amazing result on the sony uou are gonna get an amazing result on a flagship like an iphone or a samsung. Its not like it blows the other phones or anything. I had the xperia 1 i,ii,iii,iv then made a switch to iphone 14 pro. Turns out i always had the impression that only xperia phone can do good photography, videography. Turns out i just wasnt checking what other brand has. As a phone its slightly better in that it doesnt process image as much but it still not good enough to replace a cam. The selfie is also shit. Other brands have good computational photography for when you are lazy. Atleast theres option

    • @mainulislamabir6121
      @mainulislamabir6121 2 года назад +20

      @@stephaned3072 It doesn't blow other phones' cameras because other companies use Sony Sensors on their phones lol. The reason XPERIA images and videos are better than other phone brands is because of Sony's natural photography system. Both Apple and Samsung over process images and videos and make things look fake and plasticy. If you look closely, ipoop photos always tend to have a warm yellowish diarrhea hue and galaxies(more like explovaxies) reflect a cancer radiation blueish tone. Yes the general public is okay with these computational crappy BS. But actual professionals or people like me who are very passionate about photography, we all prefer an actual camera or an XPERIA phone since only Sony Phones can create results close to DSLRs. This is also the primary reason why since 2019, XPERIA 1 and its Successors have been winning prestigious awards like Red Dot, TIPA, EISA, IF, etc. What you don't understand is that Sony has never created phones to compete and compare to other phones. SONY Does Not Compete With Anyone But Themselves. XPERIAs are made for people who either don't or can't own an actual Camera, but still want results that are significantly close to one. Now, you mentioned you found your iphone 14 pm's 48 Megapixel shots to be slightly better than XPERIA. If that's true, it's only cause of the massive pixel difference between 12 and 48. But it doesn't matter since Sony owns both sensors and hence the trophy comes home anyways. When they release the 1 Mark V which is rumored to have the same 48 MP Sensor, it will be the Best as always. Lastly as far as being lazy goes, Sony phones are for adults who know what they want in and from their shots, not for lazy amateur kids who know nothing other than point and shoot.

      @@mainulislamabir6121 nah. You can definitely make an iphone 14 pro photography work. You are saying that all smartphone has sony lense and sony wins anyway...bro i dont even care if sony or apple or any win thats not even my company. All im saying is that the sony 1 is a phone. For someone who cant afford a real camera how can they have 1800+dollars for a phone? You can buy an iphone 14 pro and a camera with that price. Maybe you havent used pro raw on iphone but it is very good. And also i know how to do photography and edits and i have a camera(a7iii) but ive had sony phones before and the pro raw is amazing too. If i have an iphone the color might not be the most accurate but thats nothing an edit wont fix and its not like a color profile cant make it close enough.that true to life photo for a phone may be overrated. Also, atleast i have the option to be lazy like you said. Because a phone is used for everyday shot so you dont always have all the time so its not just because of being lazy like you said. So a sony might not always do. If you cant get a decent photo out of an iphone 14 pro then not even a sony xperia 1 will save you cuz you are prolly doing something wrong. In video i will agree that phones are behind except maybe the sony xperia 1. There is alot of processing and it doesnt look natural. And the autofocus is great on the sony phone.

    I have bought this phone and my first impression was - wow. Camera is taking great pictures, where AI is not involved that much as for competition. Photos were crisp but not over-sharpened, with natural colors and amazing PRO features. I also did not experience "famous" overheating issues. Unfortunately at the end, I had to return this phone because few aspects for me were difficult to accept in phone in this price category. 1-phone got frozen 4 times within 5 days and I had to perform reset. Mainly while opening camera app. 2-lack of video stabilization while recording 4k60fps. 3. Interface could be more user friendly, like Sony could place everything related to photo and video in to 1 app. So that was the 3 things why I decided to change it for something different, in particular I got scared of this issues with freezing of the system, I don't know maybe it was only my model and if I would change it, issues would not persist, but this feeling where flagship is behaving this way is not ok. But in general I think Sony is starting to getting close to flagship markets as a package overall.

    There are 2 dealbreakers for me and a couple of other issues that could be ironed out:
    1) Price, obviously, this costs an arm and a leg. I would save up 1k if I could to get a good phone and camera that's always with me but anything beyond that is unreachable in a reasonable amount of time. Even 1k is a dream but I'd be willing to save up slowly.
    2) Complete uncertainty that any Gcam ports will work on it. Xperias aren't popular phones and because they're very niche and don't have a computationally heavy option on their own, the one option that exists for most other smartphones, Gcam, is probably not even working on them, let alone fully or including the night mode Xperias need so much. I'm a big fan of these smartphones and their camera direction as well as hardware, but for a device that's always with you, no matter who you are and unless you have another phone with you as well, I can't go and pick one up knowing I might abandon my previous phone's capabilities. This shouldn't be a trade-off, the purist, light computational direction of Xperias should be an addition.
    As for the issues, I've noticed, unlike previous models, that there's a very very mild purple tint in darker areas. Nothing simple editing on the go can't fix, but it's noteworthy.
    On top of that, the heating issue, while I highly doubt I'd come across it using native apps since I'm not going at it for long periods of time, would DEFINITELY prove to be a problem while trying to get as much out of the phone as possible. I use a lot of third party apps and I tweak things to a disgusting degree on my phone to capture the best pictures and video possible on it, so I'd imagine a lot of this stress testing wouldn't pass on an Xperia with their current heating solution. A lot of that includes very high bitrate 4k recording including high quality sound and noise reduction and, of course, heavy Gcam usage, even if that's not traditionally a heavy task itself. I also play around with Motion Cam a lot, which allows for raw video recording, which is definitely difficult for phones to handle.
    That being said, I'm still absolutely losing it with the quality of photos and videos this is able to produce and how nice and lite the software looks.

    • @maca588
      @maca588 2 года назад +2

      The video and pictures are all raw capable, and the phone handles it exceptionally, iv edited 4k 120fps raw footage on the phone itself with no issues. I don't see the overheating as a big issue, in another test it actually performs better than all but one phone while recording 4k so it's an issue across the board with this level of smartphone. I think it is an exceptional phone, in the right hands it can take photo and video as close to a pro camera that you will get

    • @anecro
      @anecro 2 года назад

      @@maca588 The overheating on the latest flagships is admittedly true. Chips are getting way too difficult to handle in their effort to offer even greater performance and I've noticed that, since around 2019 maybe, the flagship space usually comes with quite a bit of heat, even if it's not problematic.
      It's just that I live in a country that's very hot half the year and I'm pretty heavy on experimenting.

    Did you get severe flaring when taking photos around light sources like street lights and other lights? I have that issue specially during low light and evening/night time with my Xperia 1 IV. For me it seems like that T* coating isn't really reducing flaring 🤔
    And i also wonder where they have put the coating if it's on the camera lens elements or if it's on the glass element that's Infront of the lenses? My issue has been getting worse since i bought it in late june and i've only used a normal microfiber cloth to clean the lens from fingerprints.

    The biggest problem with Sony is that it is too expensive.The other problems that are obvious are that are not selling them self's very well. Overheating, throttling, inconsistent auto camera, unpolished UI, 2 years of major updates, harder to find third party accessories do to the lack of sales and the list can go on.There is a big list of very good features on Sony but it needs more if they want to compete on the android market and for God's sake there is a lot of room now with HTC and LG gone.I am witing for the Sony king phone since the Sony Z series.
