    Great video, I hope to do the lost trail one day. Just did my first gravel ride, It really beats you up. It was only 27 miles too.

    I cannot thank you enough for revealing where we can now ride on the southern area of Lake O. BTW, outstanding video and thanks for some history I was not aware of.

    I just rode around the Lake Okeechobee last week but not in one day like you. Thanks for all the information and history. It was interesting to see all the familiar places and trail. The Westside was very remote. I've done the east side a few times before but the westside was first for me. Thanks 👍

    We (my 65 year old brother and I) just road round the lake last weekend 3/2024….
    1st - thanks for the video and 2nd - maybe if I had watched it all, we may not have gone….
    Somehow, I was convinced it was 98% paved! Boy was I wrong!
    Loved the ride. Next time I’ll do it one day.
    Started in Okeechobee. Rode to Clewiston. Slept.
    Then back to Okeechobee.
    We were on road bikes- 9hrs 15min total ride time for 118 miles

    I recently bought an Adventure.2 for trail riding and came across your channel. You've some very intriguing videos of trails in S Florida, especially in western Miami. I'll probably be riding some of these trails after our rainy season ends. Your various scenes and side bars on the various areas make for some captivating video.
    This ride around Lake O is quite a feat. You're definitely in great shape to accomplish that long a ride in one day.

    Great video. Just starting my bike touring / packing journey. I live 45 min south of Lake O. Hopefully will get to it soon.

      Amazing! Good luck! Just remember that you can't skate all the way around because about a third of the LOST is gravel

    Thank you for sharing. I plan to do this ride with a few friends sometime before summer. Do you have any information or recommendations on gaining access to food and water, or did you bring all of your own supplies?

    • @SFLNature
      @SFLNature  8 месяцев назад +1

      I brought my own supplies but there are plenty of gas stations, restaurants, and convenience stores in the towns along the way where you can fill up

    Great video! Do you know anything more about that private road to get to the levee in Taylor Creek? I live near-ish and have had this on my bucket list for a while.

    • @SFLNature
      @SFLNature  8 месяцев назад

      It's the first road on the right going east when you cross the Taylor Creek bridge. Access to the ramp back onto the levee is blocked by a locked fence with a bunch of no trespassing signs

    Absotively splendid videography. And you are one very fit man. Most important is the amount of information you provided on the environmental degradation of so much of the State in order to feed us. I hope that the Corps and agricultural interests will find better methods that do not involve poisoning farm workers and residents and the land and the animals and the water. ¡Abrazos!
    BTW, it's worth noting that Florida is hardly unique in destroying the land to feed humans. I doubt there is any State that can claim it's pure in this regard.
    PS Are you goin to be doing any fund-raising activities for charitable organization this year?

    How was the wind? Also, could this be done on a gravel bike or a road bike with gravel tires? I really don't want to have to take my heavy hardtail MTB but this is a trip I'm planning for later in the year.

    • @SFLNature
      @SFLNature  5 месяцев назад

      The wind wasn't bad until I turned south, then it got pretty gnarly, especially since I was mostly riding gravel. I suggest riding it on a gravel bike though you can also do it on a road bike with gravel tires. Make sure to bring plenty of water!
