Sailboat DRAGS ANCHOR Twice & the ICW Keeps Delivering | Sailing Zephyr - Ep. 198
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 24 июл 2024
- This episode is packed full of Sailboats and Powerboats dragging anchor over and over. A small system passes over us and boat owners anchoring abilities are put to the test.
Sailing is difficult at the best of times, but Zephyr performs well in storm after storm. We live at anchor and having the ability to trust our anchor, it's placement and that we have done things correctly are what enables us to sleep well on a sailboat.
Hope you enjoy the video!

Salt water and electronics rarely mix and the ocean is not friendly with our gear. Things are constantly breaking or rusting apart. These are a few of the things we hope to get to keep bringing Sailing Zephyr to you.

Love the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, as a Merchant Marine working for Sealand Corp docking in Portsmouth on their southern run from Europe, Portsmouth was our first Port of Call after Flexistowe. Great episode guys!
Thanks David. What type of vessel were you on?
My mother grew up in portsmith England, that was like 53 years ago tho.❤❤❤
We were at Portsmouth Shipyard managed to get a massive Stauner which we always keep on board now incase of emergency
Y’all doing a great job y’all’s videos r great

Love you too. Cheers for watching.
Thanks!
Wow! Thank you so much for your support. We are humbled by your generosity. Big love from us both.
Are you guys going to stop by Kentmorr marina and say "hi" to Mat and Jessica ?? I'm sure they would to see you !
Not this year unfortunately. We will stay down in Norfolk for the hurricane season.
The Original Portsmouth in the UK had, and hopefully still has one of the Wonders of the World, and well known to Royal Navy Sailors - Ken's Kebab House. The Belly Buster Kebabs were so good, I Used to drive a Ross the Country to Have them Fresh, plus take a load Back to Stock the freezer with, about 160 miles each way. Still missing those Kenabs tbh. Lots more there of course, including a very nice Thai Restaurant, plus things like the oldest Ship still in Commission in the World, Nelson's HMS Victory. tbh, I opted for Ken's Kebab House instead of Queuing. Well Family served on the Ark Royal, as well as the Royal Yacht, and they weren't made of Wood - I'm not exactly a Fan of Wood, because - Termites. Best Wishes and Fair Winds. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️❤
Kens Belly Buster sounds EPIC!!!! And thank you so much for the great info about the HMS Victory. James will be reading about it for sure.
♥️♥️🥰🥰
Being a former 24 year resident of the area, it is the City of Chesapeake, not Chesapeake City. Don't mean to sound like an A.....hole but it was your second visit. Enjoy your channel.
We appreciate the pick up on that. We definitely want to get it right. We will sort that out for next time. Appreciate you following the journey.
Love your videos but the thought of living with two dogs on a boat would make me jump overboard
It's not for everyone...but we love it.
If you were on a Nice free confortable dock, why you go anchor with this Weather?????
And with The dogs a board One more reazon to Stay on The free dock, am i missing something?
Great question. The free dock has a time limit of 36hrs. So we had to move. But honestly, in most cases we prefer being at anchor in bad weather. In our experience we have had much lower risk of our boat getting damaged.
I really like your videos! But i do not understand why two dogs should not be a part of the crew in a sailboat with limited space, their nature is to roam long distances every day. We humans must not be so egoistic, that we need pets or animals near us without knowing the nature of the animal...What about a turtle?
We appreciate your feedback and concern for our doggos. Honestly though, our dogs get 2 walks a day for 1-2 hours. We take them to beaches, trails and parks. In reality, our dogs spend more time exploring and interacting than most house dogs do with people who work all day.
That is good!@@SailingZephyr
