I remember doing this once about 22 years ago, ran over the dog chain, wound up it up like a roll of toilet paper! Thank God, there was nobody within ear shot, I didn't think I knew that many cuss words! I was on a three day tyraid, as I tore it down, to get the chain out! After 22 years, it still brings my blood pressure up a couple notches!
Hubby and I ordered a JD X-739 a couple of weeks ago, and can't wait to get it. The tractor and snow blower are in, and the cab should be here today. The dealership hopes to have everything delivered early next week. We're in Minot, ND, and we've had one heck of a snow year. We've been using a smaller JD garden tractor and show "thrower," which has done okay for our main driveway, but we have some huge drifts in other places on our hobby farm, and haven't been able to get them cleared. Plus, we haven't had a cab or any heat, and it's been well below zero - pretty miserable at times to be outside. Thank you for posting your video. I've watched it several times now, and it's made me even more anxious to get our new setup. Diane.
THANKS for watching and CONGRATS on your new X739 setup! With the cab you will be nice and toasty inside and the X739 with blower should handle your drifts without a problem. The only issue I see is the jostling going on to see who will get to the tractor first to clear the snow, you or your hubby! Have fun and enjoy your new beast!
Thanks for watching! It definitely took me a few years of savings to get the tractor of my dreams. So far it has worked perfectly and is perfect for my needs. I absolutely love it.
John Deere should be paying you for your videos. Just got my x738 with hard cab, heater and 47" blower. Seeing the videos guys are posting really shows what they can do.
I have a 1023 E with a rear mount 54 in blower. We had 36 inches here on Sat and I chewed through it. Backing up is a pain BUT I can pick up and move snow with the loader bucket which works well especially on the Highway Dept push off at the top of the driveway.
i just got the snowblower today my dealer had to put on some parts and i took it threw a snow pile and it did fantastic. I'm so happy bought the snowblower
These are great machines until the shaft driven P.T.O.goes out and you have to take half the transmission apart to fix it. I bought the X-534 with the 5/8's V-belt driven P.T.O.and if something goes wrong, about $50.00 bucks and 20-30 minutes of your time, your back to blowing snow again with the 47"inch two-stage blower.
Thanks for watching. Having a hydraulic shaft driven PTO is one of the reasons i bought this machine. The hydraulic trans-axle which drives everything (hydraulics, steering, front PTO, rear PTO, front axle and rear axle) in these machines is quite robust and I doubt the PTO will just go like that.
+tiggfigg THANKS! I have trained my dog to do his business in the side field and not on the good grass the I normally cut. It's great because there is nothing to clean up come spring.
Thanks for watching! Sorry I missed your post. My front joystick is fixed so it is not removable. The hydraulics from it controls the lift of the blower and the swing of the chute.
On a paved driveway, can the shoes be adjusted so that the cutting edge makes contact with the ground? Just curious if I could get my driveway cleaned right down to the asphalt like my 54" plow does.
Do you have the PN: for the up and down function on the chute? I just got a 2019 X738 and a 48 inch snowblower and the chute does not have a mechanism for adjustment from the drivers seat.
Thanks for watching and your query. The up/down function of the chute is something that I added and not a John Deere part. It was very easy to do. Have a look at this video of mine as it shows how the linear actuator was mounted: --> ruclips.net/video/tE819PnpUjE/видео.html You can get the same 4" stroke 15 lbs force "mini" linear actuator from www.firgelliauto.com The linear actuator is controlled by an Momentary DPDT which you can mount in one of the vacant slots in your console. I used stainless steel bolts and nuts to mount it on the chute and I've had ZERO issues since I mounted back in 2013.
Rear mounted blowers don't throw as far but can go through the snow twice as fast, lot more torque. Plow on the front blower on the back has worked best for me. Used to have a front mount blower, no plow. Took me 30 min to clear my driveway. With a plow on the front and blower on the back I clear the driveway in 15 min, yes it's that much faster.
Thanks for watching! I had a 60" blower on the back of CUT for years and with this front mounted 54" one it takes a 1/3 of the time to clear the same driveways due to the superior maneuverability of the X748. I also have a 60" front blade and only use it when there is heavy slushy stuff that would normally clog to blower.
I have heat but I don't turn it up too much as my tractor is stored in an unheated shed and I need to wear winter clothes anyways to walk back to get it. It's nice to have though to melt the snow off the windshield.
oh come on my d110 and snow blower from Lowe's would blow circles around that hunk a junk. i am just messing with you the 430 might be able to but probably not
John Deere Thanks for watching. The cab is from John Deere and is made by Curtis Industries specifically for that series of GT tractors. The cost of it was over 3 grand.
Ok thanks! We have a John deere 445 with a 47" blower and are looking for a nice cab for it. Also I would like a video that goes over the whole cab and the switches and all that stuff
Thanks for watching. I really didn't have any issue with traction. The issue I had is with steering authority when using the blower in deep snow. I have since made a front weight bracket that I hang 4 suitcase weights off it. Much better steering now!
Thanks for watching! The dog was in the house when I was blowing snow for his path. For their own safety I don't allow my pets to run around while I blow snow.
I remember doing this once about 22 years ago, ran over the dog chain, wound up it up like a roll of toilet paper! Thank God, there was nobody within ear shot, I didn't think I knew that many cuss words! I was on a three day tyraid, as I tore it down, to get the chain out! Thanks for watching and your hilarious comment! Definitely made me laugh, but as you stated it, wasn't certainly wasn't a laughing matter at the time.

Ha, ha, I can run faster than my husband!
OH......MY.......GOSH THAT IS SO EXCELLENT !!!!!! Nice equipment! Nice cab!!! Very nice indeed! I wish I could afford something like that.
Thanks for watching! It definitely took me a few years of savings to get the tractor of my dreams. So far it has worked perfectly and is perfect for my needs. I absolutely love it.
I feel better now. I thought I was the only one doing that for my dog. ;)
Thanks for watching. I hope that your dog appreciates what you do for him/her in winter as much as mine does!
John Deere should be paying you for your videos. Just got my x738 with hard cab, heater and 47" blower. Seeing the videos guys are posting really shows what they can do.
CONGRATS on your new beast! I agree JD should be paying me! I let my local JD dealer know all the time!
I have a 1023 E with a rear mount 54 in blower. We had 36 inches here on Sat and I chewed through it. Backing up is a pain BUT I can pick up and move snow with the loader bucket which works well especially on the Highway Dept push off at the top of the driveway.
+sgtcrab1 The 1023E is a nice machine. The Yanmar's in these tractors have incredible power for their size.
Awesome machine ! Much better than my shovel .
Thanks for watching and my shoveling days were gone years ago when I bought this machine.
i just got the snowblower today my dealer had to put on some parts and i took it threw a snow pile and it did fantastic. I'm so happy bought the snowblower
That's super! Now you are going to have to shoot a video of it in action for your channel so that the rest of us can see it!
X748SE ok
X748SE we are having 12-20 inches of snow next week
That should give your X730 and blower a good workout!
X748SE shere will
That is awesome!!!!
I can do that ALL day long. I would call that play time. lol
Great video. You need more like this one, But longer videos.
Thanks for watching! If we get some more snow I would love to shoot a few more. I do have a few more videos on my channel that are longer.
Great video, I will be doing this for my dog also!!
jared w. Thanks for watching. Hope your dog will appreciate your efforts too!
A guy playing with his new toy, lucky dog!
Thanks for watching and YES I love playing with this toy!!
Sharp looking setup.
THANKS and Thanks for watching!
Impressive little machines these JD X748's
Thanks for watching and your comment!
Enjoying watch your video,,super cold today in South Texas “26” going to high of 33. Hope I never need to purchase one of these,,Happy New Year
Thanks for watching Stephen. It would definitely be quite the deep freeze if you needed one of these in South Texas! LOL Happy New Year to you too!
Great video. That does a great job clearing snow.
Thanks! I had to push the X748 to see what it could do and it passed with flying colors.
I do the same thing with my 1026r and 47" blower for my two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
LIKE !!!!!!!
Nice job with the cameras/views
😆👌🏼😎
+smsmetal Thanks!

+madogblue THANKS!
Good video my dog hates when his paws get iced up so he avoids walking thru deep snow.
+tiggfigg THANKS! I have trained my dog to do his business in the side field and not on the good grass the I normally cut. It's great because there is nothing to clean up come spring.
That a good way to clean up the dog 💩 in the spring too.
Thanks for watching. You got that right!
Does this blower have a steel or plastic impeller? Really seems to throw snow excellent, but I've heard the plastic impellers don't throw very far.
Thanks for watching! My blower has a plastic impeller and as you can see it cant throw snow quite far.
Is your front loader joystick removal and the 3 points not hitch thingy removal
Thanks for watching! Sorry I missed your post. My front joystick is fixed so it is not removable. The hydraulics from it controls the lift of the blower and the swing of the chute.
On a paved driveway, can the shoes be adjusted so that the cutting edge makes contact with the ground? Just curious if I could get my driveway cleaned right down to the asphalt like my 54" plow does.
I have my skid shoes adjusted just like that! I can clean my driveway right down to the asphalt.
Great thanks!!

A machine like that to clear a path for a dog? Must be one BIG dog.
Thanks for watching and YES it is a big dog!

I think I better get a dog after I pick up my X748 !!
Thanks for watching and CONGRATS on the X748! I hope you will love yours as I do mine. These X700 Series are just awesome machines!
Yeah, watch out for the dog chain in the blower, ask me how I know! Ha Ha Nice machine!
Thanks for watching and I hope that the dog chain didn't do too much damage to your blower! Must have been a PITA to get the chain out though,
@@X748SE The neighbor has a big, giant dog, I hooked him to the chain and slapped him on the ass! Ha Ha just kidding! Have nice day.
And I love your channel
Thanks! My intent is to show the viewers the versatility of these X700 GT's and what they are capable of doing.
Awesome Machine !
THANKS for your comment and thanks for watching Rob!
I own a x730 2016 model with a snowblower and a drive over mower deck 54inch deck
Thanks for watching and CONGRATS on your new X730! Bet you can't wait for snow!
+X748SE hell yeah I can't wait we should meet up with are x700
spcsyracuse 1056
These X700s are just amazing and I'm still a bit awed at what they machines can do.
Great vid, great setup! Did your dog use the track? Lol.
+natisandronicus THANKS and yes the dog did use the path a lot!
l didn't pick it up yet , looks like Tuesday l will get it.
Clever way of mounting the camera.
Thanks for watching and your comment!
If I had that machine I would clear off my whole yard every storm.
Thanks for watching! It's definitely a lot of fun blowing snow now. The cab and heat makes a world of difference.
I'd clear the whole yard as well if I had that. How much is a set up like that?
Must have a path for puppy.
Thanks for watching. Yes the dog really liked his path I made.
Nice outfit. Wish I owned one.
Thanks for watching. IT took me a few years to save up for the rig that you see in the videos. Its the best unit for my needs.
love it. :)
Thanks!
X748SE ur welcome. :)
Is that the biggest gassed tractor, about the same size as my 1025r
Thanks for watching. The tractor has a 24 hp diesel engine in it and I would say that it is just a bit smaller than your 1025r.
@@X748SE cool you have no heat in the tractor I'm usually in sweats and a t shirt
I have heat but I don't turn it up too much as my tractor is stored in an unheated shed and I need to wear winter clothes anyways to walk back to get it. It's nice to have though to melt the snow off the windshield.
@@X748SE yeah I usually were a jacket to get to mine but someday I have to put my blower on
How much does that set up cost
Thanks for watching! Used I would think about 8 to 11 grand for a unit without too many hrs on it.
Gas motor? Great video!
Thanks for your comment and for watching! The X748 has a 24hp diesel engine in it.
@@X748SE being a diesel , didnt see it roll any coal
Thanks for watching and your comment. The diesel runs quite clean and it only gives a little puff of "coal" when you first start it.
And here I thought I was the only one snow blowing my yard.
Thanks for watching! The snow was quite deep and the dog needed a place to do his business!
Yes, that is the reason I also do it, nice machine.
Thanks!
What size is tractor engine??
Thanks for watching! The engine is a diesel and is rated at 24hp.
oh come on my d110 and snow blower from Lowe's would blow circles around that hunk a junk.
i am just messing with you
the 430 might be able to but probably not
THANKS for watching! I always loved the look of a 430!
You weren't clearing a path for your dog...you were playing lol
Thanks for watching! Well I admit do that I was playing while clearing a path for the dog!
Love your videos. I love that cab. How did you find that cab and where did you buy it. How much did it cost

When the weather breaks, I certainly will do a video of the inside of the cab for ya!
Awesome video. Tire chanes would help with traction
Thanks for watching. I really didn't have any issue with traction. The issue I had is with steering authority when using the blower in deep snow. I have since made a front weight bracket that I hang 4 suitcase weights off it. Much better steering now!
X748SE Copy that. Was that snow purty heavy with moisture? The engine eemed to kinduh bogg down for a little bit while comming towards the camera
Where's the dog??
Thanks for watching! The dog was in the house when I was blowing snow for his path. For their own safety I don't allow my pets to run around while I blow snow.
Those kubota pepole don't know what a deere can do
I can't speak for Kubota but these X700 series tractors are quite the powerhouse for their size.
+X748SE these tractors are just formal at mowing and I'm excited to plow some snow
WHERE'S THE DOG?
Thanks for watching. The dog is always in the house when I'm snow blowing so that I don't somehow run over him when I'm using the the tractor.
Ventrak
Thanks for watching.
