  • Rob Jarvis bought this stunning Ducati 750SS especially for the Cafe Racer Cup. On his first ride out to The Bike Shed and with only five days to go to the cup, he crashed the bike, breaking his wrist and a few bike parts too. This is the story of how he went on to place 9th in the rapid class!

Very nice bike! Never seen an SS with Quad exhausts before!
I had a '91 900SS with a Baines Racing Clutch. The clutch was still going strong when I sold it with 30k miles on it.

I recently broke my Tibia and Fibula, had a 16" titanium 'nail' shoved into my tib, was scared I wouldn't be getting back on my M1100 again, this was just what I needed this morning to reestablish the fact that I WILL RIDE her again.... just maybe not this summer ;) great bike guys and a wonderful story!

Great choice. I had a 900CR as my daily commuter back in 96, but I always liked the 750SS more on a twisty road. The 750 changed directions in a way that my 900 couldn't, even with an arguably better suspension setup. Mass matters.

Hello Rob, so your the man who bought it, I’m the man that built it. Glad to see you are enjoying it. I’m sorry to hear that you had an accident, it’s why I sold it l couldn’t face the the time in the garage fixing it if I dropped it, it took so long to build. Seems strange to see it again have fun cheers Paul.

Hi Paul, I bought the bike from Rob in January. It's an amazing machine. It recently picked up a trophy at the Farmyard party.
It looks and sounds fantastic and has people drooling wherever I take it. Well done. 👌

Very beautiful piece of art - thanks for your time and effort to show us some details and for the entertaining story around its use on the track.
And great piece of humor at the end! :-)

I disagree, a bike like that should be used and abused

    Well done, Sir.
I was wondering what are the power figures (ballpark figures) of the bikes that race in the CF cup. Thank you in advance.

We had 250s with probably 30bhp up to modern litrebikes with 130bhp.

Beautiful bike but put some bloody gloves on if you're gonna keep crashing! I had a really bad off yesterday and totalled my bike, my hands would be shredded if I hadn't been wearing my gloves.

Bikers are real men including the women folk :P, at least compare to the sissy football/soccer players that cry like a baby for a simple elbow/hand slap to the face :P The supersports are nice, and tiny but the only thing I dislike is the swingarm, especially on the earlier ones. I have seen cbr 600 swingarm fitted to monsters/SS and it looked wicked fast and purposeful. I loooooooove those pipes nom nom nom nom :)
