      @@joannamarietrinidad2334 Yep with their song structure for the most part being in keys such as D minor, C, E, etc. Tasteful, clever solo that Padge made those licks sound very cool. And it's good too it's playing off those main riffs which are yes in Phrygian and Minor/Harmonic Minor scales which are blended in such a nice way.

    Phyrgian Dominant is a modal scale based on a harmonic minor scale. A harmonic minor scale has the intervals: Tone Semitone Tone Tone Semitone Tone and a half Semi Tone. eg C D Eb F G Ab B C. A mode is where you play the same scale but start on a different position. Phyrgian dominant is the 5th mode of the Harmonic Minor scale so the intervals go Semi Tone, Tone and a half, Semitone, Tone, Semi tone, Tone Tone, Which will give the scale in C, C C sharp E F G Ab Bb C. You can also derive it from

  • @DanPeatGuitar
    @DanPeatGuitar 11 лет назад +1

    From the phyrgian scale which is the 3rd mode of the major scale. The phyrgian scale has the intervals of Semi tone, Tone, Tone, Tone, Semitone, Tone, Tone which in C gives the notes C Db Eb F G Ab Bb C. The only different note between phyrgian and phyrgian dominant is the E/Eb. Thats basically it :P Its basically a scale based on another scale which typically sounds "egyptian" due to the tone and a half interval. Used alot in metal

    Guys, he uses the towel for recording. Almost every lead guitarist does it when recording for quality purposes. Live he doesn't use it and it sounds clear as well. When using a mic, it's more sensitive and picks up extra noise so the towel helps keep things cleaner for close and personal situations like this.

    It's used to stop strings ringing at the headstock end of the fretboard, it's common practise to do this when recording solo's. It basically makes the strings sound tighter on the recording so it isn't generally done live. You might see some guitarists using a hairband to mute strings when soloing live, a band that do this is Protest the Hero.

    It's for noise reduction. When recording this will make sure none of the notes your playing bleed together. \w/
