    Simple chords and scales, great composition = totally awesome. My favorite solo from Trivium. You can hear both their personalities at once.
    Corey = more shred’ish, with quick alternate picking and sweepies.
    Matt = more groovi’sh, with powerful bends and vibratos.
    Very complementary. 🎶🤘🏼🎸

    Not too sure why people are arguing about Avenged Sevenfold in a Trivium video. Also, just an observation, but the rhythm guitar during this solo (and, not that I think about it, the main riff of Forsake Not the Dream) both use a chord progression that Avenged Sevenfold use as well (the A-B-Db, though Avenged play almost exclusively in drop d, so the chords are all a half-step higher).

    they play clean as hell, even when playing live... like how corey and matt changes in solos. first matt does solo, then maatt does rythm, then solo and rythm again.

  • @TheHobbyist180
    @TheHobbyist180 12 лет назад +1

    because corey didnt have a whammy he simply turned the volume down and back up during the slide from 2 frets :L On the record its done with a tremolo however to get the effect on this hardtail guitar he is using that is what he done, simply altered the volume knob whilst playing the note slide.

    • @joeyjones9041
      @joeyjones9041 7 лет назад +2

      when you actually tap with your picking hand you need to do a slight pulloff with the finger on your picking hand. also, timing is very important to get the right sound. hopefully that helps

    • @jowee147
      @jowee147 5 лет назад +2

      2 years late but a compressor pedal helps a ton with that. Obviously it's still about technique, but the short version is the compressor makes all the funky noises coming from your guitar levelled. So that things like tapping for example come through a lot louder as if you were picking the notes.

    Corey's Guitar is a Jackson USA KV2 2008. I know because the 2008's have that yellowish coloring on the sides of the neck. the new ones have clear bright white. by the way I have the exact same guitar that's how I know.

      +casey sattler that definitely isn't his signature
      His signature inlays are smaller in size and the body of the King V he's using in this video doesn't have the ridges around the "wings" of the guitar

    @xTheWorldNeedsAHerox I...was talking about the chord progression in the song, not the solos? Also, I don't base my assumptions on guitarists' skill based on where they placed in a book. If this list were about different styles, why does Kirk Hammett place 15th when he's constantly accused of just playing in pentatonic with lots of wah? Form your own opinions about guitarists instead of following a top 100.

    @metalguitarist321 how do I know? I've seen them live, he botched quite a bit. And yes, Corey did botch that sweep - but as you said, everyone makes mistakes. I'd be willing to say that there's a difference between flubbing one note and messing up a more considerable amount. I've done both, playing the same solo at two shows on consecutive days One time I had it near - perfect, the second I basically missed every note in a run. So yeah, everybody fucks up at some point.
