This reminds me of the first time I logged into Final Fantasy, as a level 1 conjurer in Gridania... strolling around, in love with the atmosphere, immersing myself in the land of Eorzea... There's nothing like that magical moment when you first start playing a game, before you start worrying about your skill or gear or fc drama. Thanks for the nostalgia :)
Diego Leoni My favorite kind of comment. This is the reason I love doing this. It's great when you have a personal connection with the music. Thanks for sharing that :)
i haven't been playing too long and i already have those feelings of nostalgia. helps that i'm not that far and still have a lot more of the world to experience but... whoof. the first three days were a magical experience
Same here. Those starting off days. Picked the same starting class so this theme and area is home to me. Spent the most time here idle or roaming for fun before the expansions came out. Absolutely stunning way to start off an MMO since it was my 1st. I just love the forest scenery and the music. Especially when Serenity plays out in the fields. Oh Gridania/Black Shroud. I'm just in love with that starting area. Endgame is quite stressful compared to those days where ur an absolute noob :3
Oh same!! Ah it brings back so many memories. I actually started in Limsa but when I made new characters I’d always start them in gridania (i just love starting there haha)
oh this is beautiful, I remember the feeling when I started out as a level one gladiator in Ul'dah and fell in love with the music. even now a year later I still will go to ul'dah just for the music. you all did an absolutely amazing job. 10/10
This is so so beautiful and is everything I could ever want from a wind quintet. The magic is really brought to life with the gorgeous locations you filmed at
When I first logged into the game and I heard the Realm Reborn log in music (with the notes going up and back down again, the orchestra stirring up more and more bar after bar) I was in absolute awe. Not to mention before that is the cutscene with Answers in it (the vocalist g o s h-) I was starting online with a friend at the time and he had to wait for a while before I came online mainly because I was entranced by the first songs you hear when you get onto the game. Like absolutely entranced. Ever since I’ve been obsessed with Nobuo’s work and arrangements... What I wouldn’t give to go see his music live or better yet play at least one of his songs in an orchestra!! 😍
Genius! Just genius! I'll admit I teared up a couple times because I love all three cities and their background music takes my breath away. :) FOR THE SULTANAAAA!!!
I haven't played Final Fantasy XIV but now this video is really making me want to check it out. This is probably going to be stuck in my head for awhile now too. :)
Reminds me when I played 3 years back. I told the Guild where I'm in that I'd be back. But here I am 3 years later busy with work and haven't got a chance to upgrade my computer. I miss FFXIV so much. Good memories ❤❤💕 /dance
Ed'ric Thank you :) The island I live on has so many climates and locations. I nearly lost my bassoon to the ocean and almost destroyed my camera to the dry winds.
Is it wrong to squee when seeing a flute that looks like it’s an open holed silver flute with nickel keys and b-foot? And to see it played so very well? Everyone was excellent… but you can tell what’s my favorite instrument :). Great job on the arrangement!
Ryan Lafford There's a lot of great places to film here! If you ever make it out here while I'm still living here, be sure to take advantage of it. And Prague you say? I will have to Czech it out.
Omf this is amazing, you deserve so much more fame! EDIT: I also absolutely have to request that you try to do Boundless Ocean from FF3 or Ballad of the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening. I feel like both would go absolutely beautifully like this
I was born in Ul’Dah as a Thaumaturge. I later adopted Limsa Lominsa as my hometown. I think it was the theme and the ocean setting that attracted me. Tho Gridania has a nice, cozy, feel to it. Very homey.
Others love Uldah and Limsa theme, but for me the theme to loud and noisy. Since I prefer chill, warm and calm vibe. I moved my Grand Company to Limsa, and I really missed Gridania theme instead if loud horn. The only good about Limsa is Ferry to far places (cheaper than TP to travel to Old Syarlayan and Kugane) and Ocean Fishing. Use GC aetherite ticket then use Ferry
What kind of harness are you using? I can't find one that is comfortable for me, but I see you've modified it with a little leather strap; ingenious! Was it made for the purpose or just improvved? Love your arrangements, and would love to play them with my quintet. :-)
Thanks for the kind words! The harness is one of those BG bassoon harnesses. I was using a leather balance hanger but it actually finally broke after a few years of use. I would like to get the metal one installed one day though
Hey Bassoonify! I know you probably won't read this but I have to ask anyways. So I'm a beginner bassoonist and I see that you play standing up, I know that neck straps exist but I don't know where to get a balance hanger, or how to put it on. I would love to see a video explaining this topic to fellow beginners if you have time. Thank you so much! -GÖDSEND P.S. Your videos are my only will to live XD
Nah, I read all my comments. So if your bassoon doesn't already have a balance hanger hole drilled into the top of the boot joint, then you can actually buy a leather balance hanger from forrests music. I'm even using one in this video.
All the music from this game makes me smile

@@Bassoonify this is ugly music
I started in Ul’dah. I think it’s still got the most inspiring song for an adventurer ready to take on the world and save lives.
I love how you guys changed locations between Ul'dah, Gridania, and Limsa Lominsa
Ul'dah sounds like something out of a 50's Disney film.
The Gridanian segment had me trying up a bit, it sounds like home, lol
Same same
I deserves WELL over 1M views!! Seriously well done
I've only been playing a year now and I've found the music amazing. Thank you!
oh this is beautiful, I remember the feeling when I started out as a level one gladiator in Ul'dah and fell in love with the music. even now a year later I still will go to ul'dah just for the music. you all did an absolutely amazing job. 10/10
So many memories of wind ensemble with this cover... love it, dude :)
insaneintherainmusic You miss it ;)
Ul'dah is my favorite town
Magical
Mekkah Dee i love ur vids
:D me too!! thank u!!
Balance + blend is soo good during the Limsa theme.
4:16 my eyes watered for some reason, beautiful!
This is so so beautiful and is everything I could ever want from a wind quintet. The magic is really brought to life with the gorgeous locations you filmed at
Thanks PJpants :) Come down and collab before I move!
The background on where you guys are playing the songs is such a nice touch.
I just leveled up by watching this. Thanks yall!
Man, that nostalgia makes me want to log back in
Words fail to describe how good that made me feel
Thanks for your awesome kind words! I think back to making this one a lot, it was such a good experience
すごい…!感動しました!!
Thank you for your amazing participate!!
I love this. Thank you for making this cover.

FOR THE SULTANAAAA!!!
This makes my heart feel so full and happy.
This is great! Always loved the town themes from FFXIV.
One of the best looking VGM videos, and your track sounds so uplifting on Mogs!
Thanks Swigs! Lot's of little hidden spots on this island.
FFXIV is the only MMO I've never once turned off the music in.
I haven't played Final Fantasy XIV but now this video is really making me want to check it out. This is probably going to be stuck in my head for awhile now too. :)
Absolutely beatiful! Please do more!
This works so beautifully, especially with the music of Gridania, I absolutely love it.
Gridania was so wonderful to play. It basically wrote itself for these wonderful instruments!
This is so awesome! I'm looking forward to future XIV covers!
Amazing!! Amazing!!!
This makes me want to pick up the horn again! Also Ul'dah theme still giving me chills all this time later
Woha guys, this is amazing!
Makes me a bit sad about the fact that I always compose music alone. :(
Reminds me when I played 3 years back. I told the Guild where I'm in that I'd be back. But here I am 3 years later busy with work and haven't got a chance to upgrade my computer. I miss FFXIV so much. Good memories ❤❤💕 /dance
You'll enjoy all the quality of life changes when you eventually get back to it 😁
Awesome! Specific location for every theme, amazing!
Thanks for sharing.
Ed'ric Thank you :) The island I live on has so many climates and locations. I nearly lost my bassoon to the ocean and almost destroyed my camera to the dry winds.
This almost sounds like something you would hear from a Studio Ghibli soundtrack rather than a Final Fantasy theme. Either way, this is awesome!
I could sit and listen to you guys for hours. Well done!
Incredible. You guys are all extremely taleneted!
absolutely amazing
This is an absolutely spectacular arrangement, done fantastic justice with highly accomplished playing and tight editing. Incredible work!
Beautiful! Absoutely love this. Thank you so much for all the work you put into it.
the representation here. french horn, oboe, bassoon ;-;
also super lovely, this sounds fabulous and the editing is on point! really awesome video!!
I love everything about this.
Is it wrong to squee when seeing a flute that looks like it’s an open holed silver flute with nickel keys and b-foot? And to see it played so very well? Everyone was excellent… but you can tell what’s my favorite instrument :). Great job on the arrangement!
Magical performance from all of you! Love how everything comes together and how there's so much emotion throughout this entire cover!
Toxodentrail Thank you :) This songs are very sentimental to me and it was fun sharing and performing them with my friends.
This is gorgeous, man!! Great work!!!!
This is amazing! I love Ff14 and this just makes me so happy!
Ahh Ul’dah theme is just my fav 😍
This is giving me the best vibes
Such a masterpiece!!! Thanks a lot for doing this, guys xD
One of my favorites from the album, good job!
Thank you :) It's always a pleasure working with the Gamelark crew.
This is so awesome, would love to see more like this ^
Loved it! Amazing quality. Thank you so much for making this content!
Whoaa beautifull Quintet :)
Very nice!
GRIDAAAAANIAAAAA!!!!
This is rad, way to go!
:D oh man, id love to hear any of the other music in game tbh, i look forward to any other songs yall decide to do :D
holy shit, those shots by the ocean look magical,
also you had some crazy prog guitar like bassoon riffs going on, dude that's so cooooooool
Ryan Lafford There's a lot of great places to film here! If you ever make it out here while I'm still living here, be sure to take advantage of it. And Prague you say? I will have to Czech it out.
Gridania theme sounds 100% like Sims music.
Haha, I totally agree!
That was great.
I put this on when I'm in actual Ul'dah - I think I prefer this version!
OH I LOVE IT
that was amazing!! thank you
Wonderful
素晴らしい!
This sound amazing, kupo!
Muito lindo! Parabéns!
Lovely
This is all kinds of awesome 😃
thank you for this!
Limsa, oh, Limsa, Blessed by the Navigator we Maelstrom are.
Absolutely beautiful!
Starforsaken101 Yay thanks :D
The lvl cap of these bards is 100
Omf this is amazing, you deserve so much more fame!
EDIT: I also absolutely have to request that you try to do Boundless Ocean from FF3 or Ballad of the Wind Fish from Link's Awakening. I feel like both would go absolutely beautifully like this
Beautiful! Well Done!
Amazing!!!!
I did not realise that all three starting city has wind instrument based theme until now
Reminds me of the days in Uldah, trying to find momondi in the adventurers guild before figuring out aetherite🤣🤣🤣
The Ul'dah one is soo good! Although I like them all, really. lol
That's amazing !
purrfectooo!
I love Gridania so much lol
So, basically, Limsa Lominsa has the best theme 😂
reminds-me Faris with her pirate crew on FF V
I was born in Ul’Dah as a Thaumaturge. I later adopted Limsa Lominsa as my hometown.
I think it was the theme and the ocean setting that attracted me. Tho Gridania has a nice, cozy, feel to it. Very homey.
I love Ul'dah as a town layout, but Gridania sounds like home.
thank you
Wonderful
Best video ever, will you guys do the same for the other cities/sound tracks?
For whoever doesn't know what instruments are used im this video:
Flute
Oboe
Clarinet
French Horn
Bassoon
Amazing!!!!!!!!
Others love Uldah and Limsa theme, but for me the theme to loud and noisy. Since I prefer chill, warm and calm vibe.

Nice bard
I TOTALLY HAVE TO PLAY THIS WITH A QUINTET!
Yes! Do it! :)
림사로민사에서 길 잃었던 그 때... 갑자기 해가 밝아오던 그 때.... 울컥하던 그 기분을 잊지 못 해 3년째 파판을 하고있다..
Ive thought this since beta, but I cannot be the only one who hears The Shire @ 2:38
Moheeheeko Absolutely! I just talking to a friend about that!
It was the first thing I thought of when I first heard the theme
Reminds me of getting beat up by some turtles
2:15 best part
I mean 1:48

Thank you so much! Also, keep up the awesome work! Your videos are the greatest thing on RUclips, not even kidding
Thanks, I really appreciate it. Someday I'll get back in the swing of more content. Sometimes life happens.
