I have the same truck, and my owners manual says to use the AC Delco PF63E filter. Whats the difference between the PF63 and the PF63E I wondered. After some investigation, I discovered those are NOT the same oil filter. The PF63 filter has a by-pass pressure of 12 psi. The newer PF63E has a by-pass pressure of 22 psi. If your truck calls for the 63E and runs at higher oil pressure, its possible the PF63 might run with the bypass open, allowing unfiltered oil through. Probably not a big issue if you change your oil on time, but it is food for thought when your oil gets dirty and the mileage creeps up there. Nice video, thank you!

I don't know if it's just me but I always take the oil filter off first just so I know that it will come off

You have the same issue I have. I can’t own nice clothes due to my inability to change them before I start fixing something

Why didn't you pre charge the filter? Even the manufacturer recommends pre charging the oil filter or major wear can occur. Interested in your reasoning for not pre charging the filter.

Are you talking about pre-filling the oil filter?
