I'm in Cleburne Tx, pretty close to Waxahachie. I am currently building a 35x45 shop with a 16 foot eave height. Your videos are helping me build it pretty much by myself. Thank you for that lol
Is there any info on the steel. Flange, web, thickness and steel grade?
Looks awesome. I want to build a 30x60 by myself as a challenge. Excellent work.
Me too
Clean that camera ...lol ! Moises is an all star & Victor is learning how it’s done ! Brandon , it’s good to work like you are on fire.... don’t take it literally, be careful ! Favorite crew good job!
@sheila they are the A team right! 👍
Thanks for the video. I just started shopping around for surplus steel beam and I was thinking to just weld it all together. Pretty much like you did here. Well, I might do column base plates - not sure. Anyway, thanks again for showing your build. I will probably go the W12 beam route too unless I find a good deal on plate. May be tempting to build my own beams as I can copy a 40x40 building I alreeady have.
I have a question when would you use i-beams and when is it not necessary and 4x4 tubing would work?
I do pre-eng steel in canada. We dont do any welding! How do your columns affix to the grade beam? Is it welded on? If so, how is the steel plate affixed to the grade beam? We have our concrete guys install the threaded posts in the grade beam, to which we plumb and set down with nuts.
Are there pad footings under the columns or at least a continuous footing around the slab? I would hope your not anchoring those wide flanges to only the slab.
Thank you for sharing!
I’m about to build a 30 x 40 shop myself. I love the video because of all the good information and the positivity you have while on the job site. I do have a question you might be able to give recommendations for. I am doing a 4” slab but want to do a 6” section under a vehicle lift I’m going to install. Does this sound like a reasonable plan or should I do something a little different? Thanks in advance!
Sounds sufficient but to be safe a 12*12 footer wouldn’t hurt, especially if you plan on working on anything bigger than a f150
I would love a 30x40 in my backyard!
Yes 👍 for sure! Thanks
Awesome video even though you all from Texas. Haha just playing....thanks for sharing
🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Lol.
so what would be the cost difference between this and a conventional wooden frame?
Is there an advantage to fabricating a building like this yourself vs buying a prefab red iron kit? I'm thinking you save on cost but sacrifice some on erection time. Looks like you guys do quality work.
Excellent build! Excited to build my shop and this video lit a 🔥under my….. I was curious if all your beams are welded or did you use bolt flanges? It looks welded but didn’t see too much flex when it was picked up from the ridge which made me think bolted together.
Thanks!
Complete welding. We used embeds in the concrete for plates to weld to
Hello sir hope everything is well.
What size I beam are you using
He said 12" Ibeam. I don't think he said what thickness.
Also What is the thickness
I want to build something similar to what you Build but I don’t have no experience What do I need
Yes sir. Love the content and the structure! Great job!!
Thank you!
Excellent Video clip! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you heard about - Mahorrla Wooden Paradise Method (should be on google have a look)? It is a great one of a kind guide for building better sheds and woodworking without the headache. Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate after a lifetime of fighting got excellent results with it.
@@TexasBestBarndominium I'm retired but you never know what the future holds. I'll put you in my rolodex (lol and I listen to jurassic rock too)
@@TexasBestBarndominium Do you guys build in Dallas Area?
Nice build !
How thick the concrete slab has to be for a building like that?
Really like it
For a barndomimium home with two floors what height is needed for 12’ ceilings, 28’?
How much did that jib on the skid steer cost. And where can I buy one. Thanks!
Teleboom quick attach
I’m trying to get a job working with a company installing red steel buildings. I have prior experience installing galvanized tube carports and also experience in structural welding and fabrication. About what is the average pay/ starting pay?
Hello! I loved your video. I have a question for you. I see that you used a 12x14 on the I-beams, would you use that same size for a 100 long by 60 wide metal shop? or what would you use? Thank you!
No, for a 60 foot wide you will need some major I-BEAMS.
I realize that once the steel is welded it's too big to travel, and so that's why you weld on site. But the thought of not doing anything further to protect the steel (like painting it) doesn't sit well with me. I'd much rather have a pre-fabbed system that bolts together.
I did those trusses by myself in one fay
Love that skidsteer with the boom. Putting that skid to work
Would it be better to have the side posts set first in the concrete as opposed to anchored in? Or does that really not matter? Thank you
Seems like the steel used is overkill for this sized building?
What kind of I beam , is used to do that ? Slab width? Could you please tell me the Technical specifications of the materials
12inch
So are the metal plates that the upright I beams are welded to put in when the concrete is poured? Or how does it stay attached to the concrete?
ruclips.net/video/RY-qv7mdyNo/видео.html
I like the video visually but I’m sorry you could make it better by explaining things more thoroughly for people that don’t really know how to do it by explaining part details Like the size of the beams thickness And how they are mountedI mean it’s all good and find the watch but it’s not really knowledgeable I’m sorry that’s what I was looking for
Do you install just roll up doors? I’m in Waxahachie also
No I’m sorry we do not
@@TexasBestBarndominium what about just like a carport roof only
Do you not have to use footing for this in Texas? I see them building houses with weird monolithic slabs too, I have never seen this anywhere else.
This is just a shop building however a lot of folks use less concrete than what we did in this case. We have 6” thick concrete and we have grade beams running through and around this one.
@@TexasBestBarndominium thanks for the reply. Im new to TX. Always like seeing how everyone does things differently.
@@andrewrupp7498 A lot of placed do thick edge slabs, basically footer+slab in a single pour. A friend just did a 50x100 building and they did a 8"x12" edge that tapered up to ~5" slab thickness.
@@nicholascooper1193 It surprises me that there is no real excavation for then footer. What you are saying makes sense, dig down a bit and then taper. I guess the ground doesn't move much in Texas. Id be really concerned with my floor cracking. I just did a 76x76 that is floating between ICF walls. the perimeter of the slab is 8.5-9" and then the rest is 6-7" on top of foam.
@@andrewrupp7498 not much (or zero) frost line, plus you tie the "foundation" rebar to the slab rebar to make it a single entity vs floating a slab inside some other structure/foundation.
how much for something like this ?
$30k to $40k.
What size Ibeam would I have to use to span 40' with a 1:12 pitch with no posts in the middle?
10" 12# will do it
Snow load? Wind load?
What size is the corner pad that your vertical beams set on and how is it secured to the concrete??? I couldn't see them in the corners when the concrete was being finished?
Where do yall get your I-beams from?
A local steel supply. Eagle
Amazing video. But did you ever figure out how his pants actually caught on fire?
Wouldn't it make sense to put a sil seal around the edge, flat panel on top, then weld your I beam legs to it?
Were these w12x22 or w12x26 I beams? We’re these chosen by an engineer?
Really Great Video. You've a new sub.
Hello, we been dealing with very dishonest contractors, many people are taking advantage of each other in a bad way... we have been victims of that. So we are looking for a honest contractor to do our garage. My husband is a disabled veteran. We need help. If you please could help us in our project, please let us know. Thank you. I love your video.❤️
How do you fasten the sheet metal on the corners where you have the beam?
We weld base angle at the purlin line in those spots so we can screw the panels there. Thanks for the questions. I need to better show some of that on one of our upcoming builds.
I liked the way , the Bob cat has a crane part ... nice ! what is called that part to search for ? thx
again building roof kit good Fram Fruit Strawberry
Whats the foot/pound on the 12" I beam yall used in this video?
Thought i saw 12x14 when they were hooking up to the trailer.
ya'll were dropping loads all over that property.
That beard is fabulous!
Thank you! 🤠🤗
Do you have a basic price for the structure? Concreat work etc
How much doese this cost approximately I need one just like that.
Hey man I just got a job working with some guys who erect steel buildings, where is a good place for me to learn as much about this as possible? I know some but what would make me a more knowledgeable hand?
Do you cover south Central Oklahoma?
Just within 100 miles of the DFW areas only at this time.
where is this job?
Waxahachie tx
what size I Beam you use for this particular build
What is the cost on the structure size complete? Thanks
Does anyone have an idea how this compares in price to a traditional wood pole barn? Thanks
Hard to find places that still allow pole barn construction. Due to settling ground construction.
What's the cost of getting all the steel frames up?
hey Josh, Question, I have watch all your videos and some multiple times. I have not seen a barndo with a basement. I understand Texas don't give much basement opportunities. Is there a way to frame with red iron and have a basement ? Also, Will it be best to span the basement with steel also?
To answer your question in short I definitely think it’s possible but it’s not something that I would do without a full engineer design being that we don’t generally have basements in Texas because of the expensive clay in the soil.
@@TexasBestBarndominium theres a church here in Venus Just north west of waxahachie and the church has a basement and that thing is so humid musty and wet all the time. They spent 10's of thousand to fix the basement and its already messing up again. This church is downtown venus built in the 1800's
J M yes hard to go back and address problems from the 1800’s huh!
Clearly there appears to be a case of neighbor "shop envy" going on here. LOL! 😁 Was there a reason that you did not "ramp" the concrete slab where the garage door opening will be so water will run away from the garage door and make it easier to get in? At least it didn't appear to be from the video. Did the customer request reinforced support piers for the 2 post lift? 😉 Gotta have a 2 post lift for the shop. That will be a beefy strong shop building. Nice! 👍
We did ramp it! 👍🤪 your right maybe! We added the footers for the lift... thanks for watching
Can these be built with a basement foundation?
How much did it cost
Question no concrete footings?
We have grade beams.
What is your work radius for Texas? I'm trying to stay within an hour or so from Houston.
100 miles within DFW
Dang. Live in San Antonio.....😡
Question dose these kind of work shops get grounded for Lightning ⚡️
Yes all building steel is bonded and grounded to the earth as required per the NEC
How did you fasten the upright beams to concrete
Metal plates embedded in the concrete with probably rebar shaped in a J welded to the bottom.
May I ask how much this project cost?
When they don't answer you, you know it's way over priced.
i can bet they charge close to a 100$ grand
@@patriot2872 I don think so
From the Strato-O-Span website, this structure would be less than $10/s.f.. Add $475 delivery, $350 for roll-up door, $350 for man door. So, $14,022. That does not include insulation.
Now add material and labor costs for concrete pad and erection of building. Add lighting, wiring, power panel and electrician and helper. Add any permit and inspection fees. Prices for these vary by location. I figure just under $30,000 all in. I am not familiar with TX such as permitting, demand and price for labor. The fluctuating cost of steel can be a sizable factor in the final price.
The best parts always seem to be when he's NOT videoing himself and he's NOT talking. Other than that, cool job
Come on Brandon, boss man needs it done not excuses.
Where is the rest of this Build ?
You do work in Anna, TX?
Are those 12"x10lb Beams ???
14lb
What is beam details?
aminrahmankhan@gmail.com please send fabrication shop details.
what is the inch of the profile
Never actually seen someone using a Hobart welder
Cost?
From the vid, the I beams don’t look 12”, kinda looks like 6”. How much does a structure like this cost?
Nope. 12” on this one. 12” is a bit overkill though.
@@TexasBestBarndominium how much would a 40x60 cost and how wide would you make the i-beams if you were just going to line turn it into a greenhouse?
Lets say 15’ walls and more of an angle/peak to the roof.
$30k to $40k.
30k to 40k
Price for that?
Like.

I like to build that they’re doing but I don’t like the weather is playing it personally I would think that they would give you some more details of how they’re installing the beams and specifications how far are you space to beams how big the beams are take the car in cruise we was waiting for just over a video is looks good but not knowledgeable I don’t really like the way you did it
❤i like video, hight is?
Lol I live in this town
The music junked another video 👎🏻💩
That's exactly the size I won't need looks good need a telephone number
Don’t show any detail of construction
Very poor photography should prevent content that you can imagine yourself
Bare steel . Should have been sand blasted to remove mill scale and painted with a primer at least. Poor quality " That'll do" attitude.
