@@formoftherapy i know right!! i dont mind the color palette bc as an artist bright colors go brrr, but the sets seem so empty and uninspired :(( you would think there would at least be more movement in the scene OR with the camera !! i also think they should have released this in the summer, it would have been an even bigger hit if it was a summer anthem imo!

I agree 100%. Love how the song feels more authentic instead of doing the same tactics. Seems like budget was an issue but i also feel like that’s no excuse for how poorly shot this was, and although i personally liked the color scheme it also felt faded and flat. there were so many bright colors but none popped out and created contrast. I know it’s not their fault but their team could’ve done better. They deserve it

nah, T1419 made their debut through in partnership Sony Music, NHN Entertainment and ICM partners. were it not for the fact that these companies invested in them, they would probably have a debut later with a low-budget mv. MLD don't used momoland money..

Following the girls’ personal IGs, I feel like this song and concept is more of what some of the Momoland girls personally love, but the execution wasn’t completely there (probably from budget restrictions). The song and styling is great but I agree that the MV just wasn’t quite there.
yeah i think ahin was the most hyped member for this cb but i feel so bad cause it turned out terribly and they seem extremely bored and unsatisfied in the mv and the promotions
But I don't think it is the budget issue they got a lot of money from there songs abscbn production money icm partners getting 5 m something dollars from bugs and momoland songs did good commercially(excluding their album sales) so I think it's the companies fault
To be honest hyebin's parts are bop👌plus her glow up made it more amazing

This feels and sounds like the song they should’ve released RIGHT after BBOOM BBOOM. I honestly feel so bad for the girls. They just keep doing the same thing in different fonts and it’s honestly heartbreaking to see since they look like the type of girls that would fit so many different concepts and they have the potential to be a group like Red Velvet, doing all sorts of concepts (cute, girlcrush, teen crush, etc.). They just need to change everything, they need something new. I’m not saying they should go girlcrush but just keep in mind that they have been doing cute/upbeat concepts since YEARS AGO and it just DOESN’T WORK. MLD is one of the worst companies ever, they LITERALLY have lost 3 MEMBERS in less than 6 months. The girls need to leave MLD and go to PNATION or some other company because this doesn’t deserve to be the end of their story and career.

This was my exact reaction after hearing "Ready or not"! This was the comeback the girls deserved after "boom boom". Somehow, I can understand their company, when they choose safety with "BAAM". I guess they just didn't knew how to manage the girls sudden success... I follow them since their debut days, and seeing Momoland losing members, and receiving so much hate bc of their company mistakes broke my heart.

As a Momoland fan I think you're 100% right about this MV. Everything looks so pale, that was my first impression. The song is amazing it gives me the kind of vibes I've felt when I discovered Momoland few years ago, very catchy, it make me smile while listening something that i've missed a bit with Thumbs Up.
I don't if it's because i'm French so i'm not aware of the kpop culture that much but for me the MV is not that important, if the song is good, it's good for me. And if the song is not good then.. even if the MV is great I don't really care about the music itself. I really hope that the bad production is not going ruin the comeback because I believe that Ready or Not can be a hit.

It is absolutely not the group's fault, but MLD Entertainment is debuting a new boy group, T1419, next month. Comparing their predebut content to Ready or Not's MV, it's clear where the money and effort went. As someone who loves Momoland, I just hope this isn't indicative of a trend. :(

"I love the song but hate the MV" is something I've seen a lot and totally agree with. The color grading made it impossible for me to tell most of the members apart even though I've been a fan for a long time.

ready or not is such a great song!! and the girls have great styling for this come back, from the fun, colorful clothes to the pretty makeup and hair. but the mv is beyond disappointing. they looked fucking grey in that dance scene. it's obvious they were going for a fun, colorful mv, and it could have worked, even with fewer sets and what they already have. but the editing really shot this mv down. i really don't know what happened here, but momoland and ready or not deserved better.

There's an official performance video showing off the choreography properly, which is actually fairly good. Tellingly, it has better colour grading than the official music video, although that doesn't hide the flat lighting. The audio in the official MV has also been post-processed which I've never noticed anyone else do. Feels like the production team might not have had quite enough supervision.

In case you missed it, the single Starry Night was released in June (not an official comeback). There is both a Korean (vertical style) and an English video for it.
I am very satisfied with Ready or Not. The song makes you forget that they had two similar very successful songs where everybody thought they would copy themselves forever. Maybe MLD just needed a strong kick to give the girls some decent songs and Thumbs Up, Starry Night and now Ready or Not are very good (not SOTY or something but very decent).

Yeah, it actually feels painful to the eyes after a while, and I don't mean it figuratively :/ the super saturated colors combined with the overall lightness is just too much to handle. If they even left the lighting/colors the way it was (even if it was flat and boring) it would at least be tolerable.

I love MOMOLAND, but what was this MV? It looks like they shot all the scenes in that warehouse (even on top of the roof)
I think with their previous releases it was either a direct copy of their successful song like BAAM(though I actually do like BAAM better than Boom Boom, so I wasn't mad), or integrating that style, seemed a little off, atleast to me, like in I'm so hot and Thumbs up, but in this I feel like the signature Momoland instrumental in the chorus added something to the song, instead of just seeming like "look, this is a momoland song".
This is one of my favourite releases in the past few months, and I didn't expect that from Momoland.
